  1. iMessage and WhatsApp are included in the free wifi on SWA. So is live TV. Surfing Surly will cost you $8 though and that's a risky choice. Your chances of having it work the whole flight are about the same as Texas winning 10 this season. I mean, it could happen, but...
  2. Just chiming in that my teenage son bought 2 tickets to Rice for $20 each. Not some last-minute scalping deal either; he bought them right after the LA game. Section 1, so not great but not upper deck either. Say what you want about corner endzone seats but having 25% of the touchdowns happen right in front of you doesn't suck. He and a buddy were perfectly content to grab a Coke and enjoy the game. They were both in for about $30 total. You can catch a game like this any year. I've taken my kids to a cheap game just about every year. I'll splurge for a big game, OU, Rose Bowl, etc... but there are absolutely cheap ways to watch a game or two each season. Years ago, I was a season ticket holder. I have no desire to attend more than about 1 game a year now. Too many people. There's really no kind of event where I want to spend that much time that close to that many people. It's still fun, but only about once a year. A whole season's worth would be a beating even if they were all $20 a ticket.
  3. Terlingua > Lajitas > Presidio
  4. I agree. The truth game out in the OOC games and now we have the right guy in there. Life is good.
  5. Probably not the first STD you got from your mom.
  6. I hope that's right. But you could just as easily say "Texas is a different team when they play a shitty Rice team than when they play a decent pissed off Power 5 team." That's not an excuse, but lets not act like a game against Rice is can produce any real data. Casey's snaps against Arkansas (which looked better clearly better than Card's) showed us way more than his snaps against Rice.
  7. You guys are over thinking this. Casey turned the ball over more in practice so Card got the start. Other than a difference in turnovers they looked about even so you give it to the young guy. It was the right call based on limited information. Sark has been quoted as saying he didn't want to put too much stock into the film from last year without knowing what play was called, what the coaches wanted from that play, what the reads should have been, etc... He thought they looked about even so he went with the young gun. It was the right call at the time without the benefit of hindsight you guys all have. Circumstances have changed and Casey looked better against Arkansas (Rice means jack shit) so now it's the right call to make Casey the guy for the year. At this point Card still needs reps when he can get them but it needs to no longer be under the guise of an ongoing QB competition. I get that it's a message board and it's our job to second guess every decision and every play... but only the ones that don't work out and only after the fact. But almost every person around this program that sees a lot more of it than us expected Card to get the job. I don't fault Sark for missing on that since he was quick to make the change. That's life, you get shit wrong, you recognize it, you change it up and move on.
  8. I think we've been back on forth on using them on every 800. Currently using them and I bet we don't go back to not using them again anytime soon.
  9. Just a little weight and balance discrepancy folks, a little tweak of the numbers and some paperwork and then we'll be out of here momentarily. Thanks for your patience.
  10. Yeah. His beliefs are different that many others and he has the audacity to speak about them on the forum provided to him (not much different that what we do on here except that he's got the balls to not be anonymous about it). He annoys me so I don't watch his shows/youtubes/tweets or whatever. But it has no bearing on my thoughts of him as a person or as a Longhorn. If I saw him at the grocery store I'd smile and say hook 'em and somehow be grown up enough to avoid shitting all over him.
  11. YouTube is your friend here. Somebody out there has a video of themselves replacing that panel. It will be easier than you think.
  12. It’s every middle school and high school in Austin. My middle schooler and high schooler both say only one bathroom are open in the whole school. It’s stupid but… meh.
  13. Well I heard they have the zombie corpse of Eazy-E teaching a civics class there.
  14. Love seeing that big patio! I’m as excited about doubling my patio space with this pool as I am about the pool itself. My old back patio was some orange tile from the 90’s and a weathered and dried up wooden deck. Cool Deck might not be travertine but it’s so much nicer looking than what I had before.
  15. edit: tickets are purchased.
  16. We come from south of the river to AHS. The trick is to take Walsh Tarleton in from behind Barton Creek Mall and then cut over into Rollingwood and zigzag your way to Stratford and pick your kid up at the rowing dock on Stratford. Usually just have to do it once as most of the kids in will skip one of those Fridays and attend the festival. Abd cancellation of ACL is still a possibility at this point. I bet they won’t because of $. But they’ve been canceling a lot of small scale festivities like the Batfest, Pecan Street Fest, etc. ACL has not yet received its permit for this year and the city is still waiting and seeing. But the Facebook moms are sure riled up about this. Sternly worded emails have been written to city authorities about this hassle of picking up kids from this school that the district already provides free transportation to and from everyday.
  17. You’re trying to see the world of an 18-year-old kid through the eyes of a middle-aged man. Plenty of these kids grew up in towns not too different those shithole towns that you think they should hate. As a father of a teenage boy who is starting to look around at where he wants to go to college I can tell you that big city like Miami is not appealing to him at all. I’m sure its appealing for some, but not the majority by any means.
  18. Have you considered signing up for that bank service that rounds every purchase up to the next dollar and sends all the change to your savings account?
  19. You might just need to head over there with some ladders, trim brushes, a sprayer, and some of your finest acrylic latex semi-gloss.
  20. Fair enough. I do have higher expectations for the program. But thus far there has been zero evidence that we'd be any better than last year. Every new coach comes in saying thew right things and getting the fanbase pumped up. Strong did it, Tom did it, and now Sark has done it. The fanbase buys that shit every time. THIS is finally the time it'll be different because this guy is saying the same shit the last couple guys said but he really MEANS it this time! All Sark had to do is come in and say "All Gas No Brakes" a few times and the collective fanbase was wiping his jizz off their chin. There are a few concrete things that have changed for the better, like getting Bijan more touches. But it's all for nothing without solid line play and jack shit has changed there and there was no indication whatsoever throughout the spring and summer that it would have changed. All this excitement was based on not much more than a few press conferences and soundbites. Having high expectations is very different from predicting wins and the "show me a loss" crowd. I think we'll lose 4 games this year, but by no means do I feel like that's good enough.
  21. People who claim what record we could have had are also part of the problem. We went 7-3 period.
  22. Anyone that picked that needs to be punched in the face tonight on principle. Those fuckers are part of the problem.
  23. This. Some of you fuckers just keep putting this team on a pedestal EVERY GODDAMN YEAR. Newflash: We still suck and we sill continue to suck until we prove that we don't.
  24. I don't doubt that she's batshit crazy and dumber than a box of hammers, but what is she talking about? I guess she's talking about CRT but is she saying the lyrics to Fuck Tha Police are in the curriculum? Am I missing something there?
  25. That was planned and scripted by all of them.
