  1. This is going to turn into gold for Chris Rock. He will be telling jokes about this for years. Sure, it was initially in bad taste on his part but he is far wittier than Smith is likeable and there is zero chance he lets this be his last words about it.
  2. tldr: USC fan won this football. I married his daughter. He gave it to me. The return key on my keyboard doesn't work.
  3. The NTSB has been invited to participate in the investigation. They are typically very candid in their findings and their recommendations are often at odds with the FAA and industry groups. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of access they actually get here. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/1-china-invites-ntsb-participate-190138914.html
  4. Irrelevant. 2 3 4 5
  5. No, I went to that bar specifically to order one. I figured I'd give it a shot since he's been entertaining nearly 50,000 of us over the years with all that Texas history, photos, and stories. In a social media world full of mostly shit, his stuff kicks ass. And your move is to come in with, "What I drink is cooler than what you drink!" What, are we in high school here? Get fucked.
  6. For every one that dies there's 100 more about to try it for the first time.
  7. Maybe we need a whole new thread for this shit. FullSizeRender.mov
  8. Been meaning to get over here for a couple of them for a while now. Made it happen tonight. Good summer drink.
  9. Pajamas are too long to be John Stockton's daughter.
  10. The old Angry Dolphin. eh eh eh eh EH EH
  11. Also, I'm not ready to crack jokes about this yet, but there's a Beastie Boys album cover reference out there waiting for somebody.
  12. Yeah but that would be between the lady and the dude. I hope she pursues it but more than likely she went on her way after he got pulled off. Doubt she's going to miss her flight so she can give statements to the cops, etc... I'd love to be wrong on that. I could see a case for his light push of the FA to be considered interfering with a crewmember, but I've seen shit like this too many times only to find out the guy got pulled off and booked on the next flight after the verbal equivalent of a sternly worded note.
  13. It reminds me a little of the Atlas/Prime Air crash in Trinity Bay a few years ago. That one was two pilots fighting for the controls when the FO overcorrected an inadvertent go-around. Once you get that steep and the airspeed gets so high the control forces have to just be overwhelming. Not saying this was caused by the same thing, but once you go vertical for more than a few seconds mach tuck takes over and simply pulling up isn't going to be an option. Speeds that fast become a self-compounding problem. The suicide angle makes sense but damn... you could just as easily accomplish that from 300' without all that time to think about it and without giving the other guy the chance to save it.
  14. Just watching the video makes me claustrophobic. I'm out.
  15. They did. This happened prior to pushing off the gate. :18 seconds in, the FA goes up front to start the process of getting him kicked off. It takes a bit to coordinate that though. The days of crewmembers of any kind actively pulling a guy off a plane are long gone, it's done by local security and local cops now. I highly doubt he was arrested, since his threats were to a passenger and not a crewmember. More than likely the airport cops escorted him off. I'd love to say he was put on a no-fly list for the entire industry, but unfortunately one doesn't exist yet.
  16. My speed varies by well over a mph depending when I took my last dump. It could be something other than the bike.
  17. A deck will wear quicker than a fence but I did my fence with Behr semitransparent cedar a year ago and it’s still looking great. Consumer Reports did some good multi-year testing on stains and it fared better than most in those.
  18. This caught my eye today and I thought a few of you might like it. I haven’t watched any of it yet. Documentary crew follows a group of strangers on the 1200 Pacific Northwest Trail through Montana, Idaho, and Washington. Weather, grizzlies, etc… I guess the PNT is supposed to be the most rugged of the long trails. https://watch.outsideonline.com/series/thru-the-pacific-northwest/7TasvQGk-HU6Xm3Rk
  19. I only carry a hip pack when it's really hot out. In cold or moderate temps I'll do up to 2 hours on a single tallboy bottle in the cage. Mtb shorts with a multi-tool in one pocket and phone in the other. Tube, lever, CO2, and bacon in a Dakine gripper thingy on the frame. If I'm really isolated, alone, and out of town somewhere I'll take a bigger camelbak with a snack, a bladder, and some quickclot gauze, tape and a splint. But on basic rides around town I love having as little as possible on me. Enjoy the new Ripley! I'm going to try to make it to Moab and Fruita again next month. I invited the girlfriend just to be nice, thinking she couldn't get that much time off work, but it looks like she can so... She doesn't ride so I'll be riding solo while she hikes.
  20. I just read someone speculating Mayfield's preferred trade spot is the Colts. 🤮
  21. Thanks guys. I definitely have no idea how to clean the sensor. I was thinking those had been on the lens as I had no lens wipes with me. Will investigate. There was a fair amount of processing in Lightroom on those star pics, but even prior to that it was interesting how different each shot was with different apertures and ISOs. I'll probably sign up for some formal instruction soon.
