  1. Didn’t his old lady already tweet something that sounded like her being cool with it all? Whether she did or not, I don’t see this being anywhere close to something to derail anybody’s career. He rubbed a girl from outside her pants. Meh.
  2. My gap year consisted of getting up at noon every day to watch The A-Team reruns with Paco and then getting drunk on Miller High Life bought from the only gas station we knew our fake IDs would work, and maybe bang the girls that worked at Pizza Hut if we were lucky. Pass out at 2am and do it all again the next day, other than that the Pizza Hut girls who were already tired of our shit. Surprisingly, that gap year did not prepare me well for college and I ended up flunking out the following year. That lead to following Paco into the Marine Corps before finally starting all over at age 24 with good results. TL/DR: if a gap year doesn’t seem to work out quite right, try six.
  3. Who the fuck am I supposed to bitch about my kids homework assignment to or ask who to send excused absence notes to or ask what time the middle school football game is now?!!!
  4. Lincoln Riley's favorite day in Fall is when Pumpkin Spice Latte returns to the Starbucks menu.
  5. This was the first win that gives good information about who we are. TCU may not be what they were in recent years but nobody should have been expecting anything other than a dogfight. It was and we came out on top. We still have weaknesses and probably will for a while but I'm happy with where we are. Anyone expecting us to look like we did against Rice and Tech every week just isn't in tune with the realities of college football. There's things to work on but today was good. Another dogfight next week.
  6. Do you even Surly? Key contributors don't exist. Guys are either stars or scrubs. There is no in-between.
  7. See those all the time from airplanes. Usually it's when you're descending into a cloud and the airplane is directly between the sun and the cloud. The shadow of the plane will always be right in the center of the rainbow.
  8. I bet some middle aged cougar is out there posting on a stripper board and calling themselves Neverdivorceacpa.
  9. Well it only took 5 years but I finally found something good to say about Tom Herman.
  10. I'm tapping the brakes on that. Today was great. OL did what they were supposed to against a shitty tech team. I'm not calling it a transformation until mid-October.
  11. It's user error on your end, regard. Stickied threads work just fine on tapa.
  12. He had the hardest hit of the game!
  13. It will be spun. Hell it already is being spun. The focus is turning to addresses, people voting in the wrong counties, etc... The people who wanted there to be fraud aren't simply going to change their minds over these results. They'll just move the goalposts and continue blabbering on like idiots about some other circumstantial bullshit that they think proves widespread fraud. We're not done hearing about it.
  14. Not sure what kind of SUV you have, but 116,000 miles is not really all that much for most modern cars. You can update shocks, bushings etc. and have it driving new like new. Shifting issues could just as easily be a driveshaft that needs grease or dry rotted bushings that need replaced. Even if it’s the whole transmission, it’s a lot cheaper than a new vehicle. I own two vehicles right now, a Tacoma with 260,000 miles and a Lexus SUV with 210,000 miles. Not even close to being done with either one of them. They are both just now starting to see the shop a little bit more than they ever have. The life-limited parts like those listed above are starting to be replaced. But not even close to enough of a hassle or financial burden to make me want to drop $50k on a new version of either one.
  15. I hereby nominate it as a designated camping area.
  16. My trusty bone did some stuff I was very ashamed of and I had to censure it too.
  17. If it flies, floats, or fucks... you're better off renting.
  18. iMessage and WhatsApp are included in the free wifi on SWA. So is live TV. Surfing Surly will cost you $8 though and that's a risky choice. Your chances of having it work the whole flight are about the same as Texas winning 10 this season. I mean, it could happen, but...
  19. Just chiming in that my teenage son bought 2 tickets to Rice for $20 each. Not some last-minute scalping deal either; he bought them right after the LA game. Section 1, so not great but not upper deck either. Say what you want about corner endzone seats but having 25% of the touchdowns happen right in front of you doesn't suck. He and a buddy were perfectly content to grab a Coke and enjoy the game. They were both in for about $30 total. You can catch a game like this any year. I've taken my kids to a cheap game just about every year. I'll splurge for a big game, OU, Rose Bowl, etc... but there are absolutely cheap ways to watch a game or two each season. Years ago, I was a season ticket holder. I have no desire to attend more than about 1 game a year now. Too many people. There's really no kind of event where I want to spend that much time that close to that many people. It's still fun, but only about once a year. A whole season's worth would be a beating even if they were all $20 a ticket.
  20. Terlingua > Lajitas > Presidio
  21. I agree. The truth game out in the OOC games and now we have the right guy in there. Life is good.
  22. Probably not the first STD you got from your mom.
  23. I hope that's right. But you could just as easily say "Texas is a different team when they play a shitty Rice team than when they play a decent pissed off Power 5 team." That's not an excuse, but lets not act like a game against Rice is can produce any real data. Casey's snaps against Arkansas (which looked better clearly better than Card's) showed us way more than his snaps against Rice.
  24. You guys are over thinking this. Casey turned the ball over more in practice so Card got the start. Other than a difference in turnovers they looked about even so you give it to the young guy. It was the right call based on limited information. Sark has been quoted as saying he didn't want to put too much stock into the film from last year without knowing what play was called, what the coaches wanted from that play, what the reads should have been, etc... He thought they looked about even so he went with the young gun. It was the right call at the time without the benefit of hindsight you guys all have. Circumstances have changed and Casey looked better against Arkansas (Rice means jack shit) so now it's the right call to make Casey the guy for the year. At this point Card still needs reps when he can get them but it needs to no longer be under the guise of an ongoing QB competition. I get that it's a message board and it's our job to second guess every decision and every play... but only the ones that don't work out and only after the fact. But almost every person around this program that sees a lot more of it than us expected Card to get the job. I don't fault Sark for missing on that since he was quick to make the change. That's life, you get shit wrong, you recognize it, you change it up and move on.
