  1. My coworker was a diver at Michigan. She told me a teammate hit her head on the platform and scalped herself. Dangerous sport.
  2. My kid’s job is to make sure Gil’s kid gets a doc if he ever needs it. Btw I’ll be on post next Friday.
  3. Staying at Hotel Chicago for the Marriott points and because it’s right across the river from my daughter’s office and about a half mile from my office. I fly out, and the dems fly in.
  4. Graham bought the Missions? Good for him. Hard to believe that it’s been nearly a quarter century since we built Rackspace.
  5. My best friend since 7th grade has been a professor at Chadron State College for 20 years. He’s the guy I went to Berkshire Hathaway weekend with in May. A friend of his was one of Walz’s students at Alliance and said he is a fantastic teacher. Also my friend was on the distinguished Alumni committee and when Walz’s turn came to be honored, they were asked to hold off for reasons. (Nebraska = Republican governor, CSC = state funded cow college, possible budget retaliation)
  6. lol I followed him at the Dell WCG last year.
  7. No fucking way! Been dealing with some family stuff and just saw the results and am so thrilled. I told my wife this was like Katie spotting her best opponents a 15 yard lead going into the last turn and then just deciding to blow by them all. Otherworldly stuff. Now I’m going to get on my peloton and watch the final round.
  8. Coach dickwad turned senator from Alabama politicizing and holding up promotions.
  9. In my dreams. Don’t forget I picked my username before I quit drinking.
  10. Sorry. Was watching the Astros getting their butts kicked. Fixed it for me.
  11. Fifm
  12. FWIW, I consider Shacklee a pretty weakassed MLM. They make a pretty good fiber pill that results in satisfying bowel movements. If only the GQP had a history of giving power to completely unqualified scions of Amway. Or private Militias. (Betsy Devoss & her brother Eric Prince)
  13. HAD to replace, or did replace. I’ve become proficient at YouTube for any repair not involving a fried circuit board. Dishwasher drain float, clothes washer drain strainer, dryer belt and roller tune ups (both front loaders) are easy. But I just bought a new washer dryer set when I moved because the old ones were too deep for the laundry room doors, and I’ve had bad luck with LG dishwashers so if I have to replace one I just buy the highest rated Bosch. But Monday I replaced a 1998 model chain drive liftmaster garage door opener with a new WiFi enabled Chaimberlain belt drive. It is slick. I could have fixed the liftmaster with some effort and new components but it wasn’t worth it.
  14. My bff group text had fun with those names all night.
  15. That’s a speckled kingsnake right? Pick him up and welcome him to my garden.
  16. “Fuck it, it’s not like I’m running for office” was my favorite. What is the statute of limitations if hypothetically someone illegally accessed the state of Texas CPS database to read fitlump’s lengthy and comprehensive file with regard to her daughter for pure entertainment value? Theoretically this might have occurred at about the time she was sucking Lance’s clock. That is a serious question. I’m not saying it occurred. But at the time I recall having deep sympathies for her baby daddy. On topic -
  17. Does diving fall under swimming? Chinese just trolling.
  18. My morning ritual is to open up the Wall Street Journal app and every single day. I’m reminded how he was imprisoned unfairly. I seriously hope one day somebody writes a book with an honest accounting of the conversations that took place between the WSJ and the White House. Edit: just got a moment to actually read the article at WSJ, otherwise the audio version would be 53 minutes.
  19. The name of the insurer that sold me my policy through USAA? Neptune. https://neptuneflood.com/?source=sgjte7BOCm0S00BBtLKcSQ%3D%3D&payload=google-Quote&gbraid=0AAAAADCYH9BjZcwgeMfxR4pDWNn-MWoq-&gclid=Cj0KCQjwh7K1BhCZARIsAKOrVqEwV1F113tb5ON-UbOAUj0glzEYUxoiquwEtG78Mjk47FdZhWlNwYUaAoajEALw_wcB&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Quote Apparently the reason my policy was around $600 rather than $1k is because they actually calculate premiums based on coordinates vs zones. I would love to know what comparable coverage costs for a dwelling flooded twice (Harvey, Imelda), for example the corner of Sheridan and Gladys in Beaumont.
  20. Oh I love those old timers. The first 10 years of the Lakeside conference featured those guys. Here’s a list - https://lakesideconference.org/past_speakers.php Lots of fathers and reverends until 1970 when Chuck C. Showed up. (Also, registration is open and as the resident board member I’d be remiss if I didn’t invite you all to the 2nd oldest AA conference in existence.) The godfather of AA in Beaumont is an Irish Catholic, sober since 1974, a scion of Spindletop. Closely followed by an Italian Boston Catholic (I inadvertently classified him as Irish in a previous post). The great godfather of AA hereabouts is a Puerto Rican by way of Long Island who actually got sober in 1972.
  21. Apparently this is a real product. And website is epic! https://www.jdjellycouchlube.com/
  22. God help us all if I ever have to collect.
