  1. Spencer’s injury was literally a bad break. The way his leg broke was similar to if he had jumped out a two story building and landed on his feet. The leg broke vertically, compared to horizontally, which complicated his recovery.
  2. I was there over New Year’s and got the same pick. I’m a fan. I also picked up a MWND Act 9 for $250. Yeah, I overpaid, but I felt better about overpaying the owner (nice guy, talked to him for a bit) than some FB flipper. I hadn’t seen MWND in a store before and wanted one, so I said “fuck it”.
  3. Zierlien’s schtick is wearing thin. He’s a shill for anything LSU and aggy because of his hatred for Texas. I’m a big fan of the Stingley pick, but I think they missed out on a perennial Pro Bowler in Jordan Davis. That man will eat people alive.
  4. Nah that’s why Philly traded up to 13 to get him. Texans had no intention of drafting him, which is disappointing.
  5. Was actually hoping they’d stay at 12 and draft Jordan Davis. Dude is gonna be an absolute monster.
  6. Texans fans booed when they drafted JJ Watt. I was at the draft party that night when it happened. I’m a proud Texans fan (for whatever reason), but most Texans fans are fucking morons. Glad to see most of the opinions on tonight’s pick fit the bill.
  7. Yeah, I definitely didn’t go hard the entire trip. I didn’t drink much during the days since each of the four nights was essentially the greatest bottle shares ever. I tasted some incredible bottles. Probably 3 or 4 different Old Carters. Red Breast 27. Several Four Gates. Plenty of BTAC. The list goes on. One guy brought like $15k worth of whiskey to this thing and gave pours away like it was water. It was an incredible experience that likely won’t be topped anytime soon.
  8. Yeah it’s the latest of the OF 117 series. It was awesome.
  9. The private tasting at Justin’s House of Bourbon was incredible. Highlights included pours of 21 year Hirsch Rye, 8 year Old Fitz from 1983 (Stizler-Weller juice), Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend and Old Forester very old 1910. I think it’s all downhill from here…
  10. For any listeners of The Podcask, I’m en route to Louisville for Whiskey Weekend. This is my first trip to KY, so I’m excited to check it out. I have a private tasting tonight at Justin’s House of Bourbon. The Carters are scheduled to be a part of the festivities this weekend and there are murmurs they will be setting up a pop up store like they did a few weeks ago.
  11. Oh I have two other bottles (batch 20 and batch 24). It may be my favorite bottle in my collection. Haven’t opened this new one yet, but probably will soon just to compare all three.
  12. Found a Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend (batch 53) at a mom and pop store tonight for $300 and had to pull the trigger. Retail is about $175 and you never see this bottle in the store, so I had to do it.
  13. The PG rye is the tits. Enjoy!
  14. I don’t mind a movie of this kind being made….it just feels really weird to do as a Pixar release.
  15. Yeah, my seven year old enjoyed it too. I just expect more from a Pixar-brand movie. Luckily Lightyear will out this summer to redeem themselves.
  16. Turning Red was awful. Didn’t feel like a Pixar movie at all. It felt more like an autobiography of whoever wrote or directed the movie. I can see why they just released it directly to Disney+ instead of a theatrical release. This had box office bomb written all over it if it hit the theaters.
  17. Longhorn Cafe has really good CFS. It’s a huge portion and with two sides. Their burgers are also damn good, especially if you get onion rings and throw a couple on top. I’ve been in SA for 11 years now, always living on the north side, and I keep going back to Longhorn Cafe again and again.
  18. It’s astounding how unathletic our roster is overall. We went from one extreme under Shaka where several guys were athletic freaks who could jump out of the gym, to the other extreme with this roster. While I do like that we’re a more fundamentally sound team than any roster under Shaka, I’m really hoping these high profile freshman coming in next season give us a few more options for playing above the rim. I think when Beard built this roster in the offseason he was anticipating much more production from Carr. In my option he’s been the biggest disappointment by far. Timmy and Mitchell have been great additions to the roster, but neither have the game to be a top offensive option in the Big 12. I didn’t watch much from Carr during his Minnesota days other than the highlight packages circulated around during his recruitment, so I don’t know if he’s just having a bad season or if he just sucks. Unfortunately, based on what I’ve seen from him so far I think it’s the latter. Hopefully I’m wrong.
  19. Is there any other secondary besides Facebook? 🤣
  20. No idea of the sourcing, but I have one and I really enjoy it. It’s wild ride of flavors. All over the place, but in a fun way.
  21. Damn…..misread. In any event, that Penelope is good stuff.
  22. Hahahaha yeah if Michelob Ultra ran 128 proof
  23. Yeah, the Texas Toasted is great too. I think that one is around $60-$70. The Light Whiskey is 13 years old, so based on other 13 year product that’s available $90 is a pretty good deal considering how good it is.
  24. If you guys see the new Penelope Light Whiskey (13 year) go pick it up. Great stuff. I found some at WB for $90
