  1. They fling popcorn all over the joint. And listen to Mudhoney.
  2. You people are nuts. I think I'm gonna wait a week. Should be less insane at the theater. I don't know about y'all but my local theater (in Walnut Creek CA) gets hella grungy when there's a lot of people.
  3. It's interesting that we can talk about situational awareness and taking prudent steps to stay safe. Because she's dead. If the guy had done whatever with her and left her alive, all such talk would be taboo.
  4. Did you see it? Would you recommend it? Stewart was great in Into the Wild, Runaways and Personal Shopper. I know shaggy/surly doesn't like Kristen Stewart but I really like her. I think she has a lot of magnetism and charisma, albeit in her own way.
  5. Have you ever seen Kristen Stewart in anything other than Twilight? Because she's actually really good and has a lot of range. And she's memorable in everything she's in, including the awful Twilight movies. Brie not so much. I was shocked to learn/remember that Larson was in Kong Skull Island. She had zero impact.
  6. It hit it's stride? Really. I quit watching exactly at zombie Ward. That season was bad. I got to meet her. She's cute but short. Isn't she dating Logan Paul?
  7. It was a great start but I'm starting to hate Barry. He's being such a dick. I kinda want Hank to burn him. He better do right by my boy Hank. Hank in the clothing shop cracked me up. "It's me, Hank. I'm wearing a wig." lol
  8. I'm glad they fleshed out his character. I'm talking about Hank. Barry is now in Dexter territory as far as his character goes. I feel like there can be no good ending for him.
  9. That's assuming the cop is haunted by it in the first place.
  10. Lots of blame to go around. He should have gotten life. But I really wonder about the part in bold. Basically, in any no-knock raid, even a mistaken one, the chances of you ending up dead are high. And the cops completely wash their hands of it.
  11. A few of you said Serendipity. I liked it when I saw it but it's really an evil movie. It's a movie about two people being unfaithful. And to top it off, Kate Beckinsale's character is insane, not in a cute way, but in a New Agey-ish, cringe inducing know-it-all way. My vote for best romantic movie is About Time, made by the same guy who made Love Actually but imo it's a lot better than Love Actually. Rachel McAdams is hot as usual and the final scene with the main character and his dad destroyed me. That might be because I have a son who I love more than life.
  12. I hope he wins too. I can't think of anyone more deserving of an NAACP award.

    Horror fiction

Well, nobody else seems interested in horror fiction but I went ahead and bought a physical copy of House of Leaves. And it's a beast. I've read thick books before, but this one is very unstructured and seems very dense. It'll take me a while to finish. In the meantime, here's one of the reviews that got me interested.
  14. She might be the only person keeping him alive at this point.
  15. Some weird shit going down with Ferguson. I hope he has the good sense to retire. https://www.tmz.com/2019/03/25/tony-ferguson-911-call-warned-police-ufc-fighter/
  16. Must be a bitch to plant a weapon in its little paws
  17. Man, that really bothered me. They were long and drawn out. I felt like I was in a history lecture. That particular bit is lazy writing and it violates one of the central tenets of screenwriting - dialogue is for character and not for conveying information.

    Horror fiction

I never really got into horror fiction but I'm curious about one book in particular - House of Leaves. It's been out for several years and from the description it sounds really interesting. They say it's one of those books you absolutely need a physical copy for, like there are all kinds of footnotes and at some points you have to turn the book upside down, and stuff like that. It's supposed to have a very non-traditional structure. They say it's super scary. I'm going to pick up a copy in the next few days. Has anyone read it? What other good horror fiction books are there?
  19. Agreed. I liked the movie but I was expecting more. Regardless, Peele pretty much solidified himself as an A list director.
  20. Had tickets to see an advanced screening yesterday but the damn theater said their download failed so now I have to wait 2 weeks. The reviewers are going nuts for this movie. The buzz is extremely positive.
