  1. 1948. He and Sam Barry were co-head coaches for a few years because Barry was also coaching the USC basketball team.
  2. It was almost 10 years ago now but I lived here for two years while in law school and loved it. https://www.plazaatriveroaks.com/Home.aspx It's a pretty small complex and doesn't have any on-site amenities but I didn't care about a pool, gym, etc. Great location.
  3. I don't believe so because the STR ordinance is a zoning ordinance and the ETJ is not within the zoning jurisdiction but rather the planning jurisdiction. ETJ regulations are Title 30 and the STR regulations are Title 25.
  4. Drove through just now and someone had put up a handwritten posterboard sign saying (paraphrased) "YOU DON'T HAVE TO STOP! YOU HAVE YOUR OWN LANE!"
  5. Depending on the other evidence and particularly what the various surveillance videos show about where she was, where he was, and what other people were in the area, yes.
  6. That's really only true for the 13 original states.
  7. Orin Kerr, one of the most prominent Fourth Amendment and Tech Law scholars, is doing a sorta FAQ rundown on the ruling. https://reason.com/volokh/2018/06/22/first-thoughts-on-carpenter-v-united-sta
  8. For APD, when dealing with Class C misdemeanors in 2017, blacks were 1.8x more likely to be arrested as opposed to receiving a citation than whites.
  9. 5-4 with Roberts, Ginsburg, Breyer, Kagan, and Sotomayor in the majority. Opinion here: https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/17pdf/16-402_h315.pdf The police can no longer track your location/movements by tracking what cell towers your cell phone is connecting to without first obtaining a warrant. TBD whether this will be a significant revision of the third party doctrine or not. Roberts says the ruling is limited to technology that creates "a detailed chronicle of a person’s physical presence". But there will definitely be attempts to extend the idea that the information you provide to a third party can be so invasive that it requires a warrant to other tech.
  10. Why is it ridiculous? The punishment for a Class C misdemeanor is a fine not to exceed $500. Arresting and jailing someone for an offense that is not even punishable by jail time is absurd. That APD is much more likely to arrest rather than cite when the person is black instead of white is just another reason to avoid such discretionary arrests.
  11. They aren’t cop movies anymore but 3 of the 8 highest grossing movies last year were action comedies (Jumanji, Guardians 2, Ragnarok).
  12. All forensic science is novel and potentially inadmissible at the outset. Someone has to be the canary in the coal mine. In this instance, nothing was actually lost by using this method because the more established method didn’t help the state’s case.
  13. But the problem was the testing so the “types of evidence” are the same in this instance.
  14. It’s tough to justify funding a comedy that will gross $40m when you can churn out a dogshit Transformers movie that will make $200m in China.
  15. Dumb and shortsighted is a policy argument, not a constitutional one.
  16. It’s a rough period for comedies so the funniest is probably Deadpool. For pure comedies, funniest is probably Bad Moms or Blockers. The best movie that falls under the comedy umbrella, but not necessarily the straight-up funniest, is The Big Sick.
  17. The age of majority is 19 in Alabama (and Nebraska). 21 in Mississippi. 18 everywhere else.
  18. I think a great case could be made for Virginia. Bernie was much less popular than Hillary among black Democrats and in the DC suburbs.
  19. Technically she was robbing a Russian oligarch and an insurance company, not the museum. I didn’t think it was bad but it wasn’t great either. The chemistry definitely wasn’t there. I actually didn’t mind Bullock but thought Blanchett was dead weight. Hathaway was perfection and Paulson and Bonham-Carter were really good as well.
  20. Primaries have too few superdelegates, not too many. We’d be better off if we got rid of voting in primaries altogether and just let parties put up whomever they want.
  21. And those forms can be obtained by going to a port of entry and telling an agent you are seeking asylum.
