  1. Dibs on being "Pope Moe I":
  2. If I pay $3,500 for that room, it better be the "Monica Belluci included" package. I mean.....is that package available? Because I've got a browser window open, I could book a room pretty quickly.
  3. Trappey's on your greens, and an extra splash or two on the accompanying cornbread, is winning.
  4. Oh....you think that they observe those rules when they don't want to. How....quaint. If you don't think there's been some serious headboard-banging at the Papal Apartments, you haven't been paying attention.
  5. As I was catholic educated, I think it only right for me to toss my hat into the ring. I look alright in funny hats, I suspect I'd like Italy, and my platform of turning "the body of Christ" into "the delicious, tender smoked body of Christ" by changing the eucharist to brisket samples instead of those nasty little bread cracker disc things, should be a winner.
  6. So. Much. This. We can have much debate about whether the strategy vis-a-vis China is the right one, but most folks would agree that China is a trade adversary that requires additional management. But to kick off a fight with them....while telling literally every single one of your allies (and your enemies....fucking EVERYONE) "fuck off, you're my enemy too!" is the dumbest fucking shit imaginable. Like, "invading Russia before locking down western Europe, the UK, and the US by Hitler" dumb. And also....a fucking immediate-term firebombing strategy to resolve issues that took decades to build up, and will take lots of time to disentangle? Yeah, that's fucking dumb too. But it's extra-mega-super-dumb when you decide to stand alone and make yourself the enemy of literally the entire fucking world.
  7. Dude. No WAY will we get anyone that wise, measured, and qualified.
  8. Yeah dude, way ahead of you. Been grabbing goodies from there for....a long, long time. I like Billy's, too. But Best Stop is my old-school choice. Of course, my favorite place was Babineaux's in Breaux Bridge, but they're long-gone.
  9. Because you don't understand the DJIA like Ana does. And you also don't understand consumer confidence. Or inflation. Or supply chain pressure. Or burning bridges with all of your trading partners. You just don't get the 20-D chess that is being played here. This is what things getting BETTER looks like.
  10. Will he be attaching my rider, which will create a rigorous set of regulations regarding the for-profit exploitation of unicorns? We must ensure that we ban the use of unicorns to pull plows in this state -- such majestic creatures must not be used and harmed in the course of such menial tasks. I promise you, once those regulations are passed, you will never see a unicorn pulling a plow in this great state.
  11. If you wanna make a Grok that does exactly what Elmo commands.....well, what's a few hundred poisoned black people?
  12. For realz. All-day mexican backyard bbqs are the shit. Black folks' bbqs as well. All-day affairs. All KINDS of grub - people bring/make their favorites, and it's a hodgepodge of awesomeness. A brisket, sure. But also chicken and pork steaks on the grill. Two different kids of beans. Deviled eggs maybe. Shit, someone showed up with a big box of Church's spicy? That makes a good snack while we drink beer and man the smoker. That shit is life well-lived.
  13. I've been paying attention to this current timeline. I would be unsurprised if we end up with Pope Beelzebub PuppyKiller the first.
  14. No....it wouldn't look nearly as effective as what TFG is pulling off.
  15. I have done that. Shit, I get calls trying to buy our current residence. I tell them sure, at a price that is several times its value. I told my wife about one of those calls the other day, and she got upset -- "but I don't want to move! I like our house!" I said yeah, me too....but if someone wants to put a couple million extra dollars in my pocket, I'll be out of there before midnight tonight.
  16. Sergey Lavrov seems likely, at this point.
  17. My parents owned two houses (nothing fancy - their residence, and their old modest home in Houston that they kept as a rental property). When my mom died, and her estate went to probate, I got probably 2-3 calls a week, for months, asking about my property at 123 X street, and was I interested in selling it. I’m on a do not call list - that don’t make a shit. Now my dad has passed away. I’m getting 2-3 calls EVERY FUCKING DAY, including the middle of the day on Easter Fucking Sunday. They are fucking relentless.
  18. Yeah, I mean….tell us more about that salad. HAHAHAHAHAHA! Yeah, I couldn’t keep a straight typing face.
  19. Seriously. I love that the SUPPOSED counterweight to what they THINK “DEI” is, is “only merit-based hiring!” Yet the only “merit” that any of these people have is: willing to deepthroat Trump’s mushroom dick and gargle the gravy. Seriously, the resume of most of his cabinet appointments is utterly embarrassing. They are wildly unqualified for the actual job, but they score 100 on the “cum chugging Trump loyalist” scale.
  20. ….and also fucking delicious. Don’t forget that. As Pollo Rico and the like have expanded, I’ve gotten my wife hooked.
  21. Let me know when. So we can subscribe you to the physical version of Cat Facts.
  22. Fuck yeah. Would be cooler for Easter if you cooked it on one of those cabrito crucifixes:
  23. Man, green beans and new potatoes were a real Texas/southern thing. My mother loved em, would make em, and would even buy and serve them from the can. Like these, but Del Monte (don’t think they make them anymore): And yeah, great/classic Texas bbq was not that common. There were a handful of small-town bbq places that were and sometimes still are classics, but it wasn’t nearly as ubiquitous as it is now. Frankly, food as a whole was much simpler. Sushi? My dad told me about eating it on a trip to San Francisco. I was 26 the first time I actually tried it (and my family was generally WAY ahead of the curve on trying new/exotic things - we ate at a lot of Asian restaurant places on our side of Houston where we would be the only non-Asians there, but today…all of those places would be pretty mainstream). Butter with saltines or tortillas was absolutely a S. Tx Mexican food mainstay.
  24. F you, man…cheap chicken leg quarters on the grill is where happiness is found, esp when you’re in your “we’re on a budget” years.
  25. Do you understand the Trump base? Posting shit like that IS a good idea. They love it because - oh, the irony of this post title - they’re fucking children.
