  1. I do not recall him being celebrated after it was discovered he was a drug addled pedophile. Also, fuck tow truck companies.
  2. True dat! The reaction sort of reminds me of one of my favorite threads in Shaggy - the saga of Christopher Dorner, the LA cop who went on the rampage fighting police corruption and it’s disrespect for the community and their lives. The cops went on the warpath as they do and wound up shooting up some innocent vehicles, just ‘cause. This reminds me of that, because even though the subject was some guy murdering people, he was getting a huge amount of sympathy and empathy from folks who knew how corrupt law-enforcement is in many cities. in retrospect, that was a bit of a canary in the coal mine for response to the later Black Lives Matter type police killings of citizens. It seemed to ignite some bubbling resentment.
  3. Dude. We post on Surly. We are already doomed forever once they read our posts
  4. After looking at the parachute, I’m pretty sure that it was DB Cooper.
  5. I can only conclude that it just doesn’t mean more for them.
  6. 87-69.
  7. Michelle Beadle was going off on him today. They were playing clips from the trailer and laughing their ass off about “enema”. I lost track of the number of times they called him an asshole while laughing. Brilliant business decision on his part.
  8. I will agree with you that it’s premature to say what will happen between now and then. FSU went from undefeated to absolute shit. Arizona State went from absolute shit to way, way better. But as a general proposition, if you are playing one of the toughest schedules in 2024 and you play the equivalent schedule in 2025, there is at least a very good possibility that you won’t have one of the easiest schedules in the country when you have the same SEC schedule. Forgive me if I do not buy Texas Georgia Ole Miss, Tennessee, and LSU falling into mediocrity. We’ll see.
  9. I am about as unplugged as you can be with any insider knowledge on that. I have heard rumors that giving him another year was predicated on him hiring an OC. If that is false, I would be very disappointed. But with our talent base and we have much better play calling - we hopefully won’t be worse than our seven wins. I think it is more not getting embarrassed by our most hated rivals like Miami and Georgia and blowouts that could pull the trigger . if we lose four games by one point, and it was not due to bad clock management or play calling, I think he’ll have another year. our problem is that in the scheduling roulette wheel we have the same top three hardest schedule in the country again next year. Despite his other deficiencies, Billy having to play two years in a row of that schedule is really an unfair aspect that should give him some small amount of Grace. Having said all that, if he loses our first four games, I don’t think he’ll survive the season
  10. Three weeks ago Gata was ranked 50, today we’re probably number 10 (give or take ranking source). I’m not gonna lie, finally being middle of the pack in SEC recruiting this year - it’s a wonderful and unforeseen Christmas gift.
  11. Yeah. I live in a tent on top of my van down by the river.
  12. i’m glad to see he’s a religious type, as divine intervention is going to be necessary to keep him healthy with that Nole O-line.
  13. Wait! OnlyEngineerFans is a thing??
  14. is it too much to hope for a happy ending?
  15. I think Russia has more battle deaths and injuries if you remove all of the civil war deaths due to rampant diseases like dysentery, measles, typhoid and malaria and such. More civil war soldiers died from disease than from combat related events. I wasn’t using total deaths as a comparison - because that is kind of apples and oranges.
  16. A reminder that Russia has lost more men than both sides of the American Civil War combined….in half the time.
  17. ISWYDT
  18. That is nice and all, but I like Thujones interpretation better.
  19. (j/k sounds delish) Here is one of my favorite parts of turkey day (which my sons and I celebrated today) - throwing the turkey carcass, various root vegetables and whatever seasoning suits you into a stock pot and let it barely simmer until the goodness infuses. My son, who cooks at one of the nicer up-and-comer New Orleans restaurants, is coming over Tuesday to make gumbo for his pops - and I should have enough stock left to make some kick ass cauliflower soup now that the temperature is dipping a bit at night. My oldest son* does not cook, but is a manager for one of the Brennan Clan Kingdoms, which helps me get a table when I screw up and forget a reservation. (*Neither of my sons are lawyers, which shows that I have a high degree of parenting skills.)
