  1. Yup. What most folks don't realize is that as Livingstone is cruising along at 22.4 mph he's simultaneously doing a whole bunch of coaching on the field.
  2. I inadvertently did that once. The stench didn't wear off for days.
  3. The Project for a New American Century (PNAC) spelled it out in their statement of principles, to which Cheney was a signatory.
  4. He was bad but my impression is that he got better over the year. He was a true freshman who got thrown into the SEC meat grinder without even a redshirt year to get stronger.
  5. The toy Yoda has a current value of $63,225. The Toyota that she purchased got wrapped around a tree three and a half years later and is now in a landfill.
  6. I always felt bad about that. By all accounts Sherman was a kind man and a stand-up guy.
  7. I have this YouTube video queued up to one of my favorite plays in Longhorn history. Derrick *#&$&# Johnson. EDIT: A short time later, DJ made that great interception. I'd forgotten.
  8. That was a great game and would have been even if Washington had won. An incredible game. EDIT: It's amazing how that game looks like it was filmed in 1913.
  9. One of the comments to Dylan: "I think you secretly became a middle-aged lesbian."
  10. I'm just now reading through the thread. You were being a dick. It needed to be called out.
  11. So what? That hatred isn't relevant to this discussion. What is relevant is that the Nebraska coach is being hypocritical for whining about this when he, himself, has done the exact same thing, ironically victimizing Texas. Please shut up with the irrelevancies. So people hated her. That's not salient to this discussion. She was awesome. They all were.
  12. SIAP: Here's a lengthy article from the Daily Nebraskan. Pretty good analysis:
  13. Exactly what it said: to offer that one of the greatest historians of the 20th century felt that 1) Islam and modernity are fundamentally opposed and that 2) in 1984, there were no countries in which Muslims comprised a sizeable minority were not experiencing strife because, in his view, Islam and modernity of that fundamental incompatibility. That's all. It's like saying "Darrell Royall said that three things can happen when you try to pass the ball, and two of them are bad." That statement doesn't indicate that the person offering up DKR's observation on forward passes has his own opinion. No. He's commenting that one view of forward passes is that of DKR. That's it.
  14. I didn't offer anything in defense of Texas Hammer's post, or even reference it. Have you been drinking?
  15. K.J. Jefferson is in the portal. One year of eligibilty left.
  16. There is not one Islamophobic aspect on my part to my recitation of what A.J.P. Taylor said. And he was certainly no reactionary.
  17. He could have jumped on a Texas offer. Now it appears he's lost that offer. So his decision-making skills are questionable. Do you want a guy like that on the field in crunch time?
  18. Isn't the point that Christianity has (mostly) moved beyond that? I was at a sherry drinking event with UT's eminent Roger Louis, A.J.P. Taylor, Martin Gilbert etc... in 1984 at U.T. It was only about a month before Taylor's accident. Taylor made the observation that Islam and modernity are fundamentally opposed and that there are no countries in which Muslims comprised a sizeable minority that were not experiencing strife because, fundamentally, Islam can't accept the practice of other religions. Louis and Gilbert both thought about it and rather agreed, I think. One of the greatest nights of my life. I was such a young whipperschnapper.
