  1. Alex was apparently quite wealthy for awhile. All he had to do was shut up. It's like Kanye: all he had to do was shut up. All he had to do was NOT say thinks about Jewish people or talk about loving Hitler. These two guys had it made. They HAD ONE JOB and they couldn't manage to do that. It's apparently impossible for some people.
  2. If Denver wants in, tell him he has one chance to walk the straight and narrow. Tell him he won't play next year. Tell him if he makes one mistake ... that's it. This is a good point. Austin is not for children.
  3. Until it turns out the all the Russian nukes have been scavenged and sold for parts and that many of them never worked to begin with because contractors got paid off to look the other way.
  4. I did sort of the same thing when I purchased all of the computers, routers, switches, monitors etc.. for a large day-trading firm on my own Citibank American Airlines Platinum Card and then got reimbursed for them. I've used about half of them but I'm still sitting on slightly over two million frequent flyer miles.
  5. I was thinking about this. It's going to drive somebody like Saban, who has worked so hard to build/instill a culture in Alabama that allows him to sit a guy for two seasons with the promise that he'll get his day in the sun and very possibly be a high draft pick afterward, crazy. It also means that every season every team is starting with a blank slate, so one team that has never been a force, historically (like Colorado, for example) could perhaps catch lightning in a bottle one year, have a glorious season, and go back to being 4-8 the next year. It seems like the days of dynasties may be over. It also means that a team like Texas, with all the financial resources in the world, stands a good a chance as any to have a super season, IF the coaches can get the portal player analysis right. It's a brave new world and only the strong of stomach will emerge with their sanity intact.
  6. It is. Beginning January 1, 2022 all of these platforms will be required to issue 1099Ks to any taxpayer who receives $600 or more for transactions tagged as "Goods and Services". This is a change from the current state of affairs which required 1099Ks to be generated only for $20,000 of gross revenue and 200 individual transactions of this type.
  7. This is not true. It includes Paypal, Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, Stripe etc....
  8. In my opinion we should get rid of income tax and simply add a VAT on consumption, with staples like bread, milk, diapers etc... not part of that so as not to unduly impact the poor.
  9. My Black Jacks are incredible. Ii had them measure my feet at Texas Boot Company in Bastrop, then make the boots. One of my feet is close to 1/2 inch longer than the other and I was wondering if the boots would reflect this, too. They do. Of course nobody would ever notice it As for everyday wear, Chisos knocks it out of the park in terms of comfort and durability.
  10. I've been reporting my Venmo/Stripe earnings --- which are substantial ---- for years. Am I a dumbass?
  11. From what I've read, USC is the biggest threat for Duce Robinson. Their #1 receiving tight end, Lake McRee, caught nine passes so far this season. JT Sanders has 49. Lincoln Riley doesn't use the TE in his offense.
  12. Odell doing Odell things? Escorted off of plane after drifting in and out of consciousness. Entire plane has to deplane. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/odell-beckham-jr-escorted-off-plane-police-miami-calls-situation-comedy-hr

  14. Maybe the universe is randomly chaotic.
  15. I get the joke, but I really did, in October, 1984. She opened with "Summertime." I also saw her in 1986 or 1987 at the Paramount in Austin. FWIW, I also saw Nancy Wilson at the Blue Note. I sat across the table from Lyle Lovett's manager. She was almost as good as Sarah Vaughan.
  16. This is the correct answer and the only answer and I saw her at the Blue Note in NYC and I'll fight anybody who says otherwise.
