  1. Showing my age but it's cool to see what they did without all the CGI and special effects that every network seems to add these days. However the first down line is very cool
  2. Just keep matriculating the ball down the field
  3. Kinda like a question one player who liked to sneak out asked Lombardi - when does breaking curfew end and getting up early begin?
  4. Kinda watching it and think I saw arizona was on north also.
  5. That's why you find a way to attach the garage door opener to the bike after putting it up there. Of course that rule didn't help a friend who did all that and then hit a low hanging tree limb
  6. We need this generations Alexander Butterfield to show up
  7. I went to Mecums when it was in Austin a few years ago and remember seeing a lot of average cars on Friday. By that I mean they were not garage queens that never get driven
  8. Exactly - someone did a special for I think 30 for 30 and proved from a physics view that the ball had to be hit by Tatum. Even if it hit Fuqua in the back it isn't changing directions. Now the real unanswered question on the play is did Harris catch it cleanly or off the ground? No photos or videos exist either way to my knowledge
  9. Very accurate and knew Walsh's offense. That offense was revolutionary back then. Walsh relied on timing between QB and receivers more than anyone before. His patterns were developed knowing that a QB was going to drop a specific numbers of steps and then throw to a specific part of the field for many of his plays. Walsh also figure out that a four yard out was better than a three yard run but you had to hit the receiver and Montana had accuracy to do it. I may be wrong but I also think Walsh was first to fake a handoff and then throw the four yard out to the same back. Again timing. In addition Montana never lost a Super Bowl and lead one of the greatest Super Bowl winning drives ever. I would put Brady ahead based on nine SB's versus four.
  10. Problem is that everyone that has a "similar" car (meaning built in same year) now thinks their car is worth just as much as some at BJ.
  11. I may be wrong but I remember it being Mark Washington.
  12. This year the possible class is flat out loaded. Seniors and contributors are voted separate from modern players. Coaches should be separate but count with players. Contributors - Pat Bowlen and Gil Brandt (finally - he and Jerry Kramer were the obvious candidates that were left behind. Kramer finally got in last year and hopefully Brandt does this year. Senior - Johnny Robinson - safety Players - minimum of 4, max of 8 Tony Gonzalez, TE -- 1997-2008 Kansas City Chiefs, 2009-2013 Atlanta Falcons Isaac Bruce, WR -- 1994-2007 Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams, 2008-09 San Francisco 49ers Edgerrin James, RB -- 1999-2005 Indianapolis Colts, 2006-08 Arizona Cardinals, 2009 Seattle Seahawks Ed Reed, FS -- 2002-2012 Baltimore Ravens, 2013 New York Jets, 2013 Houston Texans Steve Atwater, S -- 1989-1998 Denver Broncos, 1999 New York Jets Champ Bailey, CB -- 1999-2003 Washington Redskins, 2004-2013 Denver Broncos Ty Law, CB --1995-2004 New England Patriots, 2005, 2008 New York Jets, 2006-07 Kansas City Chiefs, 2009 Denver Broncos John Lynch, FS -- 1993-2003 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 2004-07 Denver Broncos Tony Boselli, T -- 1995-2001 Jacksonville Jaguars, 2002 Houston Texans (injured reserve) Steve Hutchinson, G --2001-05 Seattle Seahawks, 2006-2011 Minnesota Vikings, 2012 Tennessee Titans Alan Faneca, G -- 1998-2007 Pittsburgh Steelers, 2008-09 New York Jets, 2010 Arizona Cardinals Kevin Mawae, C/G -- 1994-97 Seattle Seahawks, 1998-2005 New York Jets, 2006-09 Tennessee Titans Richard Seymour, DE/DT -- 2001-08 New England Patriots, 2009-2012 Oakland Raiders Don Coryell, Coach -- 1973-77 St. Louis Cardinals, 1978-1986 San Diego Chargers Tom Flores, Coach -- 1979-1987 Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders, 1992-94 Seattle Seahawks My guesses - Tony Gonzalez and Ed Reed seem good. Thinking Champ Bailey gets it over Atwater and the HOF has always had a problem choosing safeties so I doubt they choose two this year. Alan Faneca should have been in already. Think Coryell finally gets some love. They usually choose a receiver and Issac Bruce is a good choice. I could see Hutchinson getting a phone call but again the HOF has historically not liked guards and that would be two in one year. I could see either Seymour or James. It's an odd group with only 1 RB, 1DL and 1WR.
  13. and the Times only cost 15 cents back then. Pretty good deal. And the Daily News was 10 cents
  14. You might check the math on the transformer and wire. IIRC When I did mine in 2006 I found I needed a much heavier gauge line because of the number of lights (around 15 or so). I had some on line calculators that showed a transformer could not generate the required output over a longer distance with the lights I had. I looked at my 2006 bookmark file and had something called Lowvolt forum but is now in oriental characters so I can't look anything up there.

    Rusted nuts

Success!!! But dang it was not easy. Bought the 10 piece cold chisel set at Harbor Freight used most of them. The main problem was the bolts were in the curve of the end of the bumper so you couldn't get a really firm backing to hammer. Plus there was just enough slack that the bolt kept turning when hit. Used all sizes of chisel and the pointed chisels to finally crack the nuts. The second one was so frozen that even with the nut cracked I had to hammer the pointed chisel in multiple places to free it up. Never seen a 9/16 nut require so many tools - nut splitter, various chisels and hammer - to remove it. Really glad the other ten or so came off nicely because I would not want to go thru this mess ten more times. I guess I am even happier that the six large nuts that held the two bumpers to the MGA also came off because it was cold and rainy while doing that At least I have the original bumpers and can still get the chromed. It is really expensive now. One my first MGA in 80's it was 150 bucks for both. Now 400 each but the originals are still much better than cheap aftermarket ones that you can buy

    Rusted nuts

No reason other than not having a welder and not wanting to go find one. Trying other options first

    Rusted nuts

Don't think it will hurt them. The angle bracket that these bolts hold on is between the nut and the back of the bumper. I am concerned that the hole already is messed up because the bolt turns. In any case the bolt has to come out. Even if the hole is buggered I have two choices - have a rectangular hole added via welding before plating or just put new bolt in and get it tight by holding the end of bolt after putting nut on

    Rusted nuts

N o real luck with splitter. Angle made is difficult. Split half of one and none of other. However it did lead me to believe that a cold chisel and hammer would be a good choice

    Rusted nuts

That is my third choice. Looked again and think I can get a splitter on it. Can't tell if the hole is wobbled or not and the opposite side has the same issue. I had the same thought on replacement if the hole is wobbled but I only have to get the bolt/nut on once. I am not taking the bracket off again - knowing that Dad never rechromed it leads me to believe the bolt has been there close to 60 years. The next bolt can stay there also.

    Rusted nuts

tried the vice grips - not enough there to grip and turn the nut. Welding to bumper is not going to happen. The bumper is in pretty good shape for 57 years and I am not going to mees it up before rechroming. Picking up a splitter tomorrow and if that fails then try a dremel.

    Rusted nuts

Looking at that now. Not as easy as the picutures because the brackets are kinda V shaped and the nut is in bottom of the V. Plus there is about 1 inch of bumper on the other two sides. Thinking I may get it in at an angle

    Rusted nuts

Grrrr... And more complicated than usual. The rear bumper on my 1962 MGA has a metal bracket on the inside that I need to remove to get the bumper rechromed. It may have been removed once in the 1980s' but probably has never been touched since it left Abington. The problem is that there is nothing to grab - The head of the bolt is chrome and flat. It is supposed to have a square shoulder that goes thru a square hole in bumper to provide back to tighten the nut on the bolt inside the bumper. Well it just spins. There is not enough of the bolt extending past the nut to grab with pliers. I am not sure if heat would work because I can't get any grip on the bolt. I may be able to get a dremel with a cut off blade behind the nut but it will be close. I think I remember seeing nut cracker that Dad used a long time ago but wondering if anyone has an idea. Oh yeah - and there are two of them not one that are like this.🙁
  23. You forgot to ask for a room at the White Horse or who killed JFK
  24. I feel your pain...
  25. On my 1960's house I redid the cabinets similar to his. Mine were black and I wanted white. The doors were sprayed with like 4 coats of oil based white and I did the rest with small rollers. Again four coats. The small rollers made it look like sprayed. I would not do it this way again. Took way too long. With hindsight I would mask everything and use spray gun inside the kitchen. The time to mask would have been less than using those rollers. Spraying the doors was quick - the hardest part was changing the cabinet knobs from a handle with two screws to a single screw knob. Had to fill a hole and sand a lot to make it smooth. Plus I had a ton of doors. The previous owner put about 20 small cabinets around the top at the ceiling. Each door was about one foot and it took a while just to remove them and put them back.
