  1. It's supposed to work despite less than ideal blocking, except Red is starting to dance too much instead of just finding a guy to run through. My main gripe is that we don't seem to hunt matchups as much as I would like us to. I also think he's being stubborn as fuck with his attempts to big boy people, when spreading them out and winning while making them hesitate is where this team can really shine. Defensively, I hate that we rotate so much. TCU found success on the ground running against guys like Broughton up front. When our DL fails, everything else gets pretty suspect. Hopefully he learns and grows out of the stubborn stuff, but I'll take 9-1 all fucking day. If he gets the blame for the bad stuff, then he gets credit for the good stuff too.

Talent level is higher than it has been, but the talent level is not overwhelming. Quinn is good, but this is only his second year in the system. The IOL has big issues getting push in a scheme that relies on inside zone. The defense is still figuring out how to play as a unit. Sark is still learning how to manage his team and game day. We're fortunate to have some standout play from a few stars to help this team overcome its deficiencies. Keep winning and most of these issues work themselves out over time through recruiting, development, and experience. It's a blessing to be 9-1
  3. You can definitely walk after an ACL tear, probably even better than he was walking. The difficulty extending his knee makes me think meniscus, but we'll see. Hopefully it isn't severe, but he should take it easy to protect his first NFL contract.
  4. It may not have been intentional, but the KO return took extra time off the clock which helped us end the game on that drive without needing more plays
  5. Yea, we lose that game with Maalik at QB. Many of the throws that Quinn made to X with Newton in coverage were dimes. Like if he's off or late by too much, that's a turnover.

We have matched some people's predictions for the season with 2 games to go, have already exceeded the win total from last year, and we still have a ton of meat left on this bone. Hopefully the Brooks injury isn't season ending, but this team is more than equipped to win through the air. Baxter can hit lighter boxes on the interior and we can go 11 or 10 personnel hitting short passes until the deep ball opens up. Of course this means we'll be running with Jaydon Blue into stacked boxes behind Hayden Conner next week. It's a blessing to be 9-1, we already got the style points we needed this year in Tuscaloosa. Gotta win the Big 12, then see what happens from there.
  7. Would they really drop Jimbo now for Jeff Traylor? There's no way they secured a commitment from anyone else. What's the value in doing it now instead of waiting?
  8. Neto was missing blocks all over the place in the spring game. We've already seen Quinn get hurt this year, now is not the time to bring in a guy who could throw the entire left side of the OL into disarray. We'll live with Conner for now, especially since we'll be throwing a bit more with Brooks out.
  9. TCU's front has been handled by most of the teams they faced this year. Our guys couldn't get much push for much of the game. Much room to grow
  10. For as improved as Broughton is at getting pressure, he can't anchor against the run much at all.
  11. The play that saved our season when the team was hobbling to the finish line.
  12. Dressed like an assassin looking for revenge
  13. Coleman was such a big time portal get for those guys.
  14. That's PI? That's just normal defense in the Big 12
  15. UNLV has been a very fun follow this year for this reason. Wonder how long Marion stays at this stop.
  16. It's thursday. All game-prep is pretty much done at this point. Also, it helps get our guys focused and ready to go on the road with their QB1
  17. Addazio went from being a HC to taking a job as an OL coach on a year to year basis? Woof.
  18. Maybe, but with a minus wingspan and below average mobility, that would be much less than desirable at Texas.
  19. Seeing Conner come in at LT for Banks during the K-State game should probably dispel any notions about Conner getting displaced barring a major leap in pass protection and general blocking awareness from Neto/Hutson. Conner may not be the most effective blocker, but he GENERALLY knows what is going on and who he should be blocking.
  20. Hopefully Quinn is healthy enough to take a hit without it being an issue. The more I look into this game, the more I think we can win it with MM at qb, barring a complete meltdown by him on the road. I'm sure plenty of the guys, including Quinn, want revenge for how this game went down last year. On top of that, this is another chance for plenty of the major players on the team to show out in the same area where they went to high school.
  21. Aranda would be a solid consolation prize, if he’s even fired/looking to be a DC right away
  22. That defense no longer has guys like Thorpe award winner, T. Hodges Tomlinson, Dee Winters, and Dylan Horton. The latter of which completely dominated Cole Hutson and wrecked our offense's ability to get much of anything going. We also had a few uncharacteristic drops along the way. Their OL is also missing guys like Steve Avila and Alan Ali. Obviously, they are without Duggan, Johnston, Miller, Demercado, and Barber. Another thing I don't hear much about is that they are another year removed from the influence of Gary Patterson. This isn't the same team we saw in Austin last year.
  23. Joseph is the passing game coordinator, so just moving Gideon probably doesn't get the job done. I have a hard time seeing Joseph get removed during this offseason. It makes no sense to recruit press/bump and run corners and play them off. Brooks literally made his name dominating Evan Stewart in some 1v1 reps at a camp while playing press. Now we have him playing in space against lesser athletes, make it make sense.
  24. His reduced mobility frees up our linebackers to play coverage and makes it less risky to blitz They have a few receivers who will give us fits if he has the chance to find them.
  25. Back to more relevant shit, Josh Hoover will start for TCU this weekend unless Sonny fuckery is afoot. Morris is a worse passer, but The QB run is something that would concern me if he played. The pass rush is a bigger factor with the reduced mobility of Hoover too.
