  1. They became a good offense once they started running 2/3rds of the time instead of 1/2 of the time. We've stopped the run well all year outside of the OU game. If we can make Kstate pass to win, it bodes very well for the outcome of the game. MM has to protect the ball, but I think we're gonna have solid success on the ground against them.
  2. He's not gonna come out and say that about any team, but especially not his alma mater that has his very good friend as HC.
  3. It'll be hard for him to drag his nuts across their face off his back foot, but it should be interesting to see him try.
  4. There's next to no way Worthy is making that catch. Marvin Harrison Jr. would have a hard time bringing that one in. Underthrown and the DB rakes it out as Worthy is trying to bring it in. Last year, he didn't even show that level of effort on those kind of balls. The only one I could "fault" him for is the 3rd and 2 play where he's being tugged on his break. It hit his fingers, so maybe he catches it with more extension, but it wasn't a bad drop.
  5. Conner makes pretty noticeable errors throughout most games, which makes me think Neto must be really unreliable if he keeps getting that much PT. Check out Conner on the big Blue run in the 4th quarter. The other guy is sitting in the hole with his back to the play, so Conner must have been distracting him with a conversation about space travel. Blue runs right behind them for the long TD
  6. Murphy threw to his outside shoulder, Sanders turned to his outside shoulder, Sanders' momentum pretty much made it impossible for him to secure the catch AND turn up field while still beating pursuit. Additionally, the guy JWhitt was supposed to block was already at his heels once he secured the catch. Whitt ran a fake route before going to block his guy and the other guy got outside leverage. Whitt would have needed to maul him to the ground or out of bounds for the play to work, but the other guy made a play. Whitt blew the block, the other guy blew the play up.
  7. No injuries per Bobby/Gerry this am on the live stream. Seeing Jett Bush and Alfred Collins playing without any noticeable limitations was very gruntling.
  8. I agree with this unless a no-doubt guy that Flood has history with becomes available or there's more attrition than expected. Lots of talented guys familiar with the scheme should be ready to contribute by next year. I just hope one of them can unseat Hayden Conner.
  9. So about a third of the snaps then.
  10. Maalik was living dangerously for much of that first quarter. The X throw into triple coverage where X falls is a bad throw even if he stays upright. The one handed JT catch was also a potentially disastrous throw. He settled in for the most part after that, but hopefully he continues to grow during the week and it culminates in a big time performance against KSU next week. He's gotta be more careful with the ball than he showed yesterday. He threw some really nice balls in the RPO game, so maybe we'll see more of those worked in.
  11. Can we just mention the good sportsmanship BYU showed in this game? They offered to help our guys up, didn't do a bunch of extra curricular activity, etc. Big difference from last week.
  12. IZ is decently effective, but teams have been looking to shut it down as we reach the redzone. It actually makes the pass component more effective if they commit to stopping the run.
  13. You know Howard just led a 41-0 beatdown of UH, right? Johnson didn't do much of anything positive when that game was in doubt. Howard certainly looked really good last year as well. He'll give Texas fits if we have to oversimplify to stop the QB run.
  14. This is exactly the feel I got, even though I still would have liked us to kick one of those FGs.
  15. Hutson played a lot against BYU at RG.
  16. I haven't seen a Kevin Mar crew in a while. I think he may have been demoted.
  17. Some of them are slow, but Lassiter is about league average. Epps is above average speed-wise. Roberts is slow, but uses his body well, Kingston is shifty and gets open in zone. The guys communicated MUCH better yesterday, but not worrying about QB run made things much easier even with the motions they used. We left Slovis alone and he did better than he usually does in the QB run game, but he wasn't gonna beat us that way. Will Howard could beat us with it, Avery Johnson would definitely beat us with it. Jaylan Ford can't be asked to account for the QB in the QB run game anymore, definitely not next week. Blackwell/Hill give us the best chance there. Most interesting in this game will be how we stop the run. Cooper Beebe is legit, should be interesting.
  18. We don't have the OL to run IZ successfully when the other team is keying on it. RPOs have been our most effective plays down there. They also increase the risk of turnovers and negative plays.
  19. Brooks is not a heavy carries guy. We didn't need to run him a bunch in this game, and his body is happy about not getting all those hits yesterday after getting 28 touches last week.
  20. Red zone comes down to execution more than anything else, both ways. We also have guys up front who either miss blocks, make poor contact, or get pushed back. The play to JT was a good one, but their guy beat a JWhitt block so credit to them. I think we'll see more variations with the Red package going forward. We only need to show so much against BYU. Next week is gonna be a huge test.
  21. The only reason why you haven't been blocked is so I get a chance to neg your stupidity until your eventual crowd sourcing. OkSt handily beat Kansas State as a 12 point dog. Pulled out a win against Kansas as a 3 point dog Solidly beat West Virginia on the road as a 3 point dog Then handed Cincy its biggest margin of defeat this year by far as a 7-point favorite. All this after losing 33-7 to a now 4-4 Sun Belt squad at home. They're easily playing like a top 4 team in this conference right now. OU has had issues against the run, they're coming off loss to Kansas, AND Stutsman may be out. This was gonna be an interesting game even if OU was decently healthy.
  22. Maalik Murphy is dealing with a touchy back and a lingering ankle, why on earth would he potentially hurt himself for that play? That is a very smart play by a young player.
  23. Ollie Gordon is why I think OkSt beats OU this year. Bowman is good enough to keep them honest, but Gordon is on some other shit right now.
  24. Hayden Conner is absolutely abysmal at run blocking. He makes loose contact, then disengages almost immediately. His guy also gets in the hole more often than you'd like. A major positive coming out of this game is the reinsertion of Cole Hutson. After the major gaffe that led to MM's fumble, Hutson replace Campbell and the OL looked a bit more cohesive on passing downs.
  25. Manning time
