  1. You consider that an actual jump with extension? His foot is pretty much on the ground as soon as both hands touch the ball. Did you see those arms in the passing window? You could argue JT was trying to protect himself, but you expect your star NFL tight end to make those plays.
  2. Gabriel missed some throws, but some of that was due to pressure. Another reason why I’m shocked we didn’t pressure him more up the middle
  3. The point is that Sanders wasn’t catching that even if he doesn’t get hit.
  4. Would our loss not be seen as a stumble too? Isn’t it better to stumble early in the season in a rivalry game? Especially where the losing team doesn’t look completely outclassed? I think Kansas state will give us issues because of the running qb, good OL, and we need to show that we can put together three good games in a row.
  5. I’m also not sure we get forgiven for stumbling against anyone else on our schedule except for OU. The effort they put out there on Saturday likely beats everyone else they’ll face in the regular season. OU came ready and did just enough to win, the response to this loss will tell me all I need to know about Sark.
  6. There’s the reasonable take we were all waiting for. I guess more people thought we were going undefeated than I imagined. In reality, this was the only loss that would have been acceptable once we beat Bama in fucking Tuscaloosa. 10-2 or 11-1 are still pretty likely, barring injury. I’ll buy pitchforks in bulk from Costco if we lose to UH.
  7. Sanders is the first read, it’s an easier throw, and he’s open. Its a rhythm offense. Quinn is a little late on it and the linebackers recovered from the play fake enough to get into the passing window.
  8. A&M’s DL better come ready to play for that game to be close. If Milton shows up at all, Tenn wins. Same offense our guys just went up against, but with slightly better skill players.
  9. I’m pretty sure they expected to win the LOS and create havoc that way. Playing aggressive with that expected advantage exposes your defense more than necessary. We also had poor tackling, so thinning the secondary even more than their scheme does would have led to pretty horrible results if DG got the ball out in time.
  10. Because if the coverage team is there, then you’re starting at the 1 yard line instead of having some breathing room.
  11. Williams clearly bumps the coverage when that guy goes in motion. The other guys apparently didn’t get the message. It’s either on Thompson or Gbenda. I’m guessing Gbenda. I would have liked a TO at some point on that drive too. Our guys were flailing out there
  12. On rewatch, QE was a little late, but it was a tight window due to the linebackers getting into the passing window and that part of the field being more constricted. Tough catch, but JT's gotta help his QB there.
  13. At the time, they were actually playing well enough to get him off the field. They were stuck at 27 after the first drive of the second half. In total, the defense didn’t do well against him at all.
  14. I believe he should have gone for it. I can also see why he went for the FG.
  15. It was the conservative thing to do, which isn’t always a bad thing. Our defense was doing well against DG and Quinn had already turned the ball over 3 times and we had a backup center out there with no JT. It’s the kind of call that is only “right” if it works out in the end.
  16. I thought we were gonna be aggressive the entire way through when they were doing that. If we failed to convert, we still had timeouts and maybe a chance to get the ball back. I was even more certain we were going for it when he ran the ball on 3rd and 9. on 4th and 4, we went out there and they were showing a heavy box, turned out we were only trying to draw them offsides. Even after the timeout, i figured we had something we could execute for 5 yards to put the game in our hands.
  17. Watts makes no difference in this game. Fully believe that.
  18. He's not gonna test well. He needs to head to the league after this year though.
  19. Quinn was easily one of the best players in this game Once he settled in, he was nails. OU defense played its ass off.

The running into the kicker penalty that extended their drive is effectively another turnover too. Gabriel gave them that opportunity with the way he saved the bad snap too.

We can lose to anyone if we play like we did in the first quarter for an entire game. If we were against anyone else today, we win the game. Dillon Gabriel was big time on that last drive. Very similar to what Bryce Young did against us last year.

We effectively had 4 turnovers in this game and they still needed a minute drive to win the game. The only thing Sark did that wasn't happy about was kicking the FG when he did. He trusted his defense, which has been nails all season, and they failed to get it done. Shit happens. Jerrin Thompson should have picked off Gabriel and he didn't. Jt Sanders bobbles a catch and it turns into a redzone turnover. Shit happens. This game felt like a bad loss, but they kept fighting and it wasn't force feeding the ball to Worthy. Sark called a pretty good game. Their guys just made plays on a regular basis.

You can show someone how to block when it comes to stuff like that. They definitely practice it. They are big enough to block the guys they were asked to block. They are used to being physical. They just failed to execute the block. Doesn't matter if they were an OL or a DL, they are a blocker period.
  24. Our DBs cant turn and run like I hoped we'd be able to. DL played poorly, but the QB run and missed tackles really ruined the defense today. We didn't do enough to get Gabriel uncomfortable. PK would definitely like to have this game back.

I would have liked more blitzing, but our back end was already playing suspect in their tackling. It's just crazy that they gave up a TD when i was just wondering if they would have a chance at a FG.
