  1. Anahuac is amazing. In addition to the giant flocks of snow geese, there are at least a dozen duck species, many raptors (in my early birding days i saw white-tailed kite, peregrine falcon and probably 10+ northern harriers in a few hours), dozens of waders and plenty of smaller perching birds like vermillion flycatcher. Not to mention otters and gators. I would recommend it to anybody in the Houston or East Texas area, in the winter especially. It's also both walkable and drivable.
  2. Yea, what the fuck? Should have been richer, I guess...
  3. Tear that mother fucking wall down, Haaland!
  4. Why the fuck are you listening to 43+ minutes of rush limbaugh?
  5. He said "you talk about sam ehlinger, one of our... players we have great respect for."
  6. Several years shorter, with numerous unexplainable gaps
  7. The face of psychopathy...
  8. I got accepted to UT within a month or 2 of the VY national championship, was there during the Colt years and moved from Austin the summer of 2010. Just accepted a job in Austin and am moving back at the end of the year. I really just wanted to say "you're welcome", and I'm sorry for the last decade.
  9. Pets in the holiday spirit. Not pictured, the hole in Mango's lip from attempting to steal a bone from the old man earlier in the morning.
  10. Just passed a several dozen car Trump caravan heading southbound on I-35 from Fort Worth. What fucking losers.
  11. Anybody in the DFW area want a 37ish gallon tank + stand for cheap? I'm moving into another rental for at least another year and just can't keep breaking the thing down constantly.
  12. #1 bucket list item for me is an African safari. Awesome photos
  13. I can't wait to waste my time on surly outside of the cloak room for a change.
  14. NM senator Tom Udall for Secretary of Interior
  15. He should be banned as soon as Biden is sworn in for all the shit he's said the last 4 years that would have gotten anyone else kicked off the platform.
  16. It was really fun waking up multiple times wondering what the hell was going on in the Midwest. I feel better than I did last night when I went to bed at 11, but much worse than the start of the day yesterday. So like many others have mentioned, basically the range of emotions one experiences watching the Longhorns shit the bed against an underdog, until 1 or 2 heroes step up to make a game of things.
  17. I have spent the last 2 1/2 years in Saginaw and now Decatur, so this hits close to home. Fortunately, this dark chapter of my life will end in 2 more months, hopefully ushered in by a new president.
  18. It really does become panic mode in here every single night, doesn't it? Jesus, I need to restrict myself from the cloak room after 6 pm for mental health. I feel great about things from the drive to work to the drive home, and then when I settle in to relax for the evening, you assholes freak me the fuck out.
  19. They've blown the shit out of a bunch of mountains in the Arizona wilderness to put up the stupid fucking wall in just a couple of months, so certainly enough to do damage. And like someone above posted, once there's a foothold, its going to be much more difficult to rescind.
  20. Mother fucker. Friendly reminder that Trump is the only president to reduce the amount of protected public lands.
  21. Not as much as old white dudes like to play that game though. My Korean wife gets asked "Where are you from?" constantly by older, white men. When she replies "Colorado", she then gets the fun follow up of "But where are you FROM from" or "Where is your family from?", which is especially fun because her family is white folks with English ancestry.
  22. Took the wife to vote last night for the first time in 8 years (for her). Wise county going blue, y'all!
  23. Thanks for the reminder. Now that I'm paying, I won't feel so bad about my shitty drunk posts.
  24. The dynamic duo will be making the move to Austin at the end of the year. For the old man, this will be his 12th?? home in his 5th city since my wife adopted him a decade ago. He's the easiest pet ever.
