  1. Poor oppressed capitalist not liking a business the government doesn’t subsidize. So sad, such small dick energy.

    Insomnia

Shit. First time I’ve had this in a long time and it sucks.
  3. I’m not in healthcare and my company is massively profitable. Sorry but not sorry.
  4. Those are ok. They’re white and wear wrap around shades so they’re pretty ok people.
  5. We use BCBS as our plan manager but we’re big enough to self insure with catastrophic coverage as backup. As a result we’ve been able to absorb cost increases without increasing the cost to employees.
  6. Please just ignore him. Unfortunately quoting doesn’t forestall ignored posts from showing up and that dude is just a worthless poster.
  7. I’m starting to think the FED only cares about the stock market when their trades are pending….
  8. All shitposting aside (who am I kidding) I think the pressure is easing finally. I am seeing contractors shrink their margins and getting much more competitive in pricing. Supply chain still fucked but all of a sudden the tightness in a lot of the market has been relaxed. I have stopped hiring period until next year, probably summer at the earliest. I think we’ll get this hike and then it will begin to ease. But rates are still going to go up until first quarter of next year.
  9. Does any of this account for people breaking into brodozers to steal shitty whataburger happy meals?
  10. Maybe all the Elon fanbois can sign up for blue marks to help him out. The train crash in slow motion is deliciously suspenseful and free. And I don’t have much sympathy for the employees, sorry. That whole business model never made much sense to me and 7500 people to run that platform is business malpractice.
  11. Talk about FAFO. Turkey is daring Russia to do something. And they can’t.

    Brazil

Out of the possible outcomes this was least bad. Problem is Bolsonaro’s party controls Congress. So there is likely lots of close combat ahead. Lula is a typically crooked PT politician but Dilma was the one who ran Brazil so badly it set Bolsonaro up. Basically nothing like the US frankly. My dad has lived in Brazil forever and doesn’t really see this significantly altering current issues. I think you’ll have some headline changes but things like fear of nationalizing Petrobras etc are just silly. Bolsonaro is just a fascist asshole so him losing is good news no matter what.
  13. Hell yes! In. I’ve been reading Forsyth and while Day of the Jackal was great, I’m sick of Dogs of War. I’ll finish out of stubbornness but I’m done with him now.
  14. I would do the border trilogy but I’m kind of biased. I read all the pretty horses first. Probably the most accessible is no country for old men as the movie is pretty close to the book, especially in characterization. The Road is great but very different in setting. I don’t know that he has written a bad book. I’m sure there is one, but I haven’t read it.
  15. Watched it last night, son and I laughed our asses off and wife was not amused. Well worth the 6 bucks prime rental and a fun movie. I may have to check the book out now.
  16. Not a doc but have two grown kids and that sounds like a sinus infection. Antibiotic will clear it up and a doctor has to prescribe it. Or it could be AIDS.
  17. Easy to remove the Twitter app today. I installed it to follow Ukraine and there are several here who do a great job aggregating already so I have no need to generate views. Just like Spotify, voting with your feet or wallet is fine. Let me know when the scat pics go up, I’ll swing by again.
