  1. Please just ignore him. Unfortunately quoting doesn’t forestall ignored posts from showing up and that dude is just a worthless poster.
  2. I’m starting to think the FED only cares about the stock market when their trades are pending….
  3. All shitposting aside (who am I kidding) I think the pressure is easing finally. I am seeing contractors shrink their margins and getting much more competitive in pricing. Supply chain still fucked but all of a sudden the tightness in a lot of the market has been relaxed. I have stopped hiring period until next year, probably summer at the earliest. I think we’ll get this hike and then it will begin to ease. But rates are still going to go up until first quarter of next year.
  4. Does any of this account for people breaking into brodozers to steal shitty whataburger happy meals?
  5. Maybe all the Elon fanbois can sign up for blue marks to help him out. The train crash in slow motion is deliciously suspenseful and free. And I don’t have much sympathy for the employees, sorry. That whole business model never made much sense to me and 7500 people to run that platform is business malpractice.
  6. Talk about FAFO. Turkey is daring Russia to do something. And they can’t.

    Brazil

Out of the possible outcomes this was least bad. Problem is Bolsonaro’s party controls Congress. So there is likely lots of close combat ahead. Lula is a typically crooked PT politician but Dilma was the one who ran Brazil so badly it set Bolsonaro up. Basically nothing like the US frankly. My dad has lived in Brazil forever and doesn’t really see this significantly altering current issues. I think you’ll have some headline changes but things like fear of nationalizing Petrobras etc are just silly. Bolsonaro is just a fascist asshole so him losing is good news no matter what.
  8. Hell yes! In. I’ve been reading Forsyth and while Day of the Jackal was great, I’m sick of Dogs of War. I’ll finish out of stubbornness but I’m done with him now.
  9. I would do the border trilogy but I’m kind of biased. I read all the pretty horses first. Probably the most accessible is no country for old men as the movie is pretty close to the book, especially in characterization. The Road is great but very different in setting. I don’t know that he has written a bad book. I’m sure there is one, but I haven’t read it.
  10. Watched it last night, son and I laughed our asses off and wife was not amused. Well worth the 6 bucks prime rental and a fun movie. I may have to check the book out now.
  11. Not a doc but have two grown kids and that sounds like a sinus infection. Antibiotic will clear it up and a doctor has to prescribe it. Or it could be AIDS.
  12. Easy to remove the Twitter app today. I installed it to follow Ukraine and there are several here who do a great job aggregating already so I have no need to generate views. Just like Spotify, voting with your feet or wallet is fine. Let me know when the scat pics go up, I’ll swing by again.
  13. The weaker economies reliant on energy imports going to stay fucked for a while. Some because they fucked themselves (Germany) some because they just are in the crossfire.
  14. He read in his whataburger employee guide. Before it was stolen from his Brodozer. I really think this is going to go similar to ShaggyBevo and the asshole Eskimo man, but it will take time. Popcorn gif time.
  15. In. First off, it’s Haydn. No E. Yes, 94 is fantastic. My tastes are a little eclectic and I’m biased because my son is a decent cellist, but here’s a few of my favorites: Du Pre’s recording of Elgar Cello Concerto. Rostropovich recording of Dvorak Cello Concerto And I never miss watching the Vienna philharmonic play Strauss. The TV version has gotten kind of dumb for new years but it’s still fantastic watching the Radetzky March with everyone stomping their feet and clapping to it. I am a huge Wagner overture fan. His operas are over long and get exhausting but his music for the overtures is first class. Lastly, I really enjoy Bach in all forms but especially string ensemble. He is possibly the most mathematical of the composers.
  16. My thoughts: right now is a shitty time to buy because sellers are still feeling their value is high. Buyers are paying way more to borrow, but it doesn’t look like rates will come down for at least a year. I think aggressive negotiation is the best you can do and be flexible on location. If you’re not, you’re handicapped because there may not be much you can do other than hope someone has to sell. Specifically in Austin there is still catching up to do on demand and too little inventory that is market priced. I sold right at the peak, so I got incredibly lucky, but I bought almost as fast as I could because a) rates were climbing fast and b) the market I’m in (California coast) has no new inventory, ever. I suspect it will be three years out longer before I see rates below 5 percent again.
  17. Lol. Not luring me back in to that pile of shit. No sir. No way. Well maybe…
  18. Getting the flu shot today. Everyone except our 16 yo has gotten the new booster. We’re still all free from covid. Funny thing I’ve noticed is a big increase in masking at places like Trader Joe’s. About 50 percent now, and especially among the olds. It’s probably because there is very little stupidity about masking here. No one cares if you are wearing one or not.
