  1. It’s basically like being in a war zone out here. A war with my wallet!
  2. I was in SF a couple of weeks ago and managed to survive so this hits close to home.
  3. Ummm that was dumb.

    Colonoscopy

It sucked. I guess the good news is that it looks like 10 years till the next one. I peed from my butt a lot. Didn’t really have much of an appetite afterward. Just tired as hell.

Checking in. Getting ready for my first anal tomorrow. My mix is Suprep and my wife said it may be the most disgusting thing she’s ever had to drink. No one said anything about Vaseline though, so I guess no lube for me. Wish me luck.
  6. Let’s get Donal or Gooby nominated.
  7. My stonk account is about half a percent of my net worth. It may have been as high as 1 percent during early covid times when I was bored and doing better with my bets.
  8. It’s University of Holding. Because they didn’t call it on the Uof H line once.
  9. Absolutely. It’s a freight train coming down the tracks and outside of the big cities no one has done Jack shit to address it. The stupid Simsboro well fields to bring water back west to the Austin San Antonio area are a symptom of the stupid planning. There needs to be a huge emphasis on reuse and instead we’re all grabbing our fiddles.
  10. Sorry to hurt your feelings. Backing up that it’s the best Engineering school in the US is a formidable task, but taking the loss is fine.
  11. A little goalpost movement there. No one asserted GA tech is garbage, and I’ve known several bright engineers who went there. I think it’s easily in the top 10 Engineering schools. I have a hard time seeing it number one.
  12. I am happy to hear how GA Tech is better than MIT, Stanford, Caltech, Mudd, RPI, UT, Cal, and probably a few more I overlooked. What’s your reason?
  13. There are so many things to dislike about the guy, the attempts at pithy one liners are the runny diarrhea topping on the Elmo shit sundae.
  14. Bump with one more data point, a good friend of mine just sold and is moving to the east coast for retirement. The wild thing is they got full asking on a multimillion house in WLH with multiple offers and took a cash closing one. The buyers have been renting for two years waiting for the right house. So the supply is still constrained enough that the high end of the market is holding up.
  15. Texas. That’s all you need to say. It’s the only Texas school besides Rice that registers out of state with most people. Although I know quite a few rich white people here in Cali who send their kids to SMU.
  16. Especially not for the coke and viagra combo.
  17. Is there anything we do without that music blasting? I think the best summary I’ve seen is that this was a Comanche raid. Because basically all Hamas lacked was stealing the fancy women’s clothes and having the Texas rangers chase after them. I think the fate of the Comanche is theirs too.
  18. We all know how well our response to that went too. We got Bin Laden after 10 years!
  19. There is no scenario here that doesn’t end badly. Iran played this perfectly. They kill any peace deal, likely forever, between Saudi and Israel, which keeps everyone from focusing on their sorry terrorist asses. They also get the western world to agonize over Israel’s heavy handed approach, which everyone knows is going to go for a while. Finally it sucks oxygen out of Russia v Ukraine for a while because people have trouble focusing. It’s going to get a lot worse soon. This was planned carefully for many months. The Israeli and west moves are known, we’re fucking predictable as shit. China and Turkey are real wild cards here depending on how much interest they have in getting involved. Turkey has traditionally been sort of on Israel’s side unofficially. Can that continue?
  20. Donal please.
  21. Oh I definitely agree there are going to be exceptions. The admittance rate at UCLA has gotten absurdly low. Like 10 percent. UT is still around one in three I think.
  22. Santa Cruz is the county seat and a lot of their free stuff gets handed out there. It is surprisingly sketchy, to the point it can feel unsafe for women and kids in some of the areas. It’s very different from all the other small towns along the central coast, none of which get that feeling. Re UC schools. If your kid isn’t getting into UT Austin they aren’t getting into UCLA or SD either.
