  1. I prefer 80s over 90s and I'm not sure it can get anymore 80s than this:
  2. Always does on this specific topic. That said, the thread title is explicit and is obviously, specifically referring to Texas chili, as we all know. Anyone debating putting green peas into the fucking chili, is just being an asshole. Which is, of course, quite appropriate for this site. Carry on, surly assholes.
  3. How much for just one Rib...bee's?
  4. Since this is a Sprint weekend and qualy is on Friday, I'm expecting bigger crowds than there would be for a normal P1/P2 Friday. However, there's obviously a lot of supply available and actual ticket prices are dropping, so hopefully that means a less crowded Friday and a less crowded weekend than the past 2 years. Hopefully the DtS and post-COVID bubble has burst and we can get back to actually being able to walk around the track on race weekend.
  5. Jeeps have plenty of problems but I love them. Our 2017 Wrangler is awesome, no problems so far, and someday I'm going to buy the 1978 CJ-5 Renegade that my best friend drove in high school, just as soon as his dad decides to let it go. It's old but a real survivor. Anyway, I really hate the look of those 90s Nissan 300ZX but I really love THIS car, which my next door neighbor drove:
  6. There's a Dell-McLaren thing again this year but it's Dell-specific. Since there's no DannyRic, I won't be attending.
  7. Well of course it is, they run the 9-0-2 defense. Who WOULDN'T think facing 9 DL instead of 3-4 is tough???
  8. Army vs. Navy (FIL was army and is awesome) Alabama vs. Auburn (don't really care but Alabama's dynasty needs to be broken) Michigan vs. Ohio State (easy choice, Michigan is the Texas of the Big Ten, Ohio State is the ousux of the Big Ten) USC vs. Notre Dame (ND can DIAF) Florida vs. Georgia (eh) Miami vs. Florida State (I was at the 1991 Cotton Bowl) Cal vs. Stanford (Stanford was my safety school and still has a special place in my heart) Oregon vs. Washington (Duck uniforms can DIAF) Arkansas vs. Texas A&M (eclipse blindness for all) Mississippi State vs. Ole Miss (Hotty Toddy coeds) Edit: Sorry missed the no meteor rule, fixed it
  9. Precedent was set, proof is in the pudding, do not pass go and do not collect $43M.
  10. People who don't understand this, really just have no clue how the bowl games were viewed, at the time. Notre Dame didn't attend bowl games from 1925 through 1968. The Big Ten limited its conference allotment to only one single bowl team per season, until 1975. You really can't look at college football 50+ years ago through a 2023 lens. It's silly. On the other hand, claiming a national championship for a year when nobody recognized you at the time, is just plain stupid. Who on earth would do such a thing?
  11. Eh, they won. Losing sucks. Losing to your archrival sucks worse. I hope the Horns remember and take it out on the rest of the schedule in extremely violent fashion.
  12. I'll catch it Sunday afternoon whilst decorating for Christmas. If it's engaging, I'll be pleasantly surprised.
  13. Yup. I don't recall reading any of that thread but since we have plenty of consistent doomsayers on this message board at all times, I'm confident there were several people talking the team way, way down, in response. Regardless, it's exactly true that it wasn't the entire board's-- or the entire fan base's-- sentiment. You'd have to be a complete moron to to think all or even most Texas fans felt that way and assume that the OP was representative.
  14. Only interesting street course they've added in the last... I don't know... 5 decades, is Azerbaijan. I'm pretty confident in my dismissal.
  15. It's gonna be a crap-ass race anyway. I'll DVR it and likely FF through most of it. I'm far more interested in the DtS episode that covers the leadup and all of the non-track stuff. That's gonna be a lot of fun. Heck, maybe a 2-3 episode arc covering all of the Las Vegas shenanigans.
  16. Oh there's a simple solution to that-- no runoffs at all. Or, only lava run-offs. Would solve so many problems at once. This reverse race direction idea is sounding better and better!
  17. I don't want more teams if they're crappy. More cars is fine. If that means going down to 8 teams running 3 cars, I'm good with that. Adding more rolling chicanes? No thanks. And I can't agree with any of you that want fewer races. I want MORE. 52 races per year would be great. But not shitty street races or parking lot races. To make logistics easier you can run back to back events at the same venue. Run the circuit clockwise on week1, and then counter clockwise on week2. Would give a whole new meaning to the term "Parabolica" at Monza! And while we're at it, we need more 6 wheeled cars. Follow me for more ideas on how to improve Formula1!
  18. Pure internet silliness here. People who post on college football message boards are the tiniest fraction of a percentage of a fan base, and aren't at all representative of that fan base. When I talk to my average Joe Texas fan friends in the real world, they are consistently: happy when Texas wins, briefly upset when Texas loses, hopeful for a positive trajectory, and completely unaware of how Sark dresses for the 0.5 mile walk into the stadium. THAT is our fan base.
  19. Please oh please axe Qatar over track limits!!!!
  20. As it should have. They're not about to let a bunch of former members that already quit the conference, decide what happens to the conference.
  21. I'd love to hear that pitch. "Over there is where we have the DJ who spins during practice, and this here is the special corner of the locker room where our players like to blaze up, and then after you're nice and relaxed you'll have 5 hours per day of faux military training where a bunch of skinny dorks will spank your naked ass and then force you to jizz into a mayonnaise jar. Oh, and there's the state of the art weight lifting room and saunas." "Uhhhhh... what was the part in the middle???"
  22. What the fuck is wrong with you, Twitter??
  23. Am I missing the sarcasm? Half this message board has been in near-meltdown mode since Saturday 2:30 PM. Constant arguing whether it's the coaches that suck or the players that suck or the refs that suck. Heck, CTJ nearly jumped. We're dealing with some serious shit, here.
