  1. Bernie wants a ban, Trump wants more side effect disclosure in ads.
  2. Lost cause, waste of time. Texas is already gone. Like red dawn level gone only without the Cuban paratroopers.
  3. Bernie sanders on cnn tonight (caught it on sat radio) said you wanna make America healthy again? - medicare for all - take on pharmaceutical and insurance companies to reduce costs - vaccinate kids he was matter of fact and rather convincing.
  4. You can also refrigerate your rice and potatoes before reheating (gently) and eating to create a resistant starch which doesn’t digest and absorb in the small intestine like a piece of fruit or a slice of bread. Instead of providing glucose it acts more like fiber and helps with gut health, colon health, blood sugar regulation and feeling full. Sweet potatoes, green bananas, nuts and seeds are naturally resistant starches. Rice and potatoes are much more resistant after cooling.
  5. Yeah I’d imagine scarcity and all of that pushes it up 3x at least? There’s a similar 2025 Daytona on chrono24 for $134k but it’s ice blue not Tiffany blue. Also platinum/stainless look not gold.
  6. Oh here’s another one, I was an angel investor in 2013 or 2014 in a start up that later sold for $500m. I did great like 35x returns, but two things sucked - had to split half with my ex and we didn’t put enough in to be the end game. I guess I shoulda gone all in on that one.
  7. It pretty much did ruin everything then, but things rapidly started going the right direction in 2013-2015 and has been pretty good since then. Won some, lost some but never went all in again. Real estate has sucked the last 3-4 years for us but this tough spot has been nothing like 2008-2012.
  8. Leon too please
  9. I'll tell you this much, not sure I have enough life to fit it in nor the wife to support it but i would LOVE to race vintage formula fords for fun.
  10. another big mistake. went all in on a race car drive line and transmission/transaxle company for the hobby enthusiast crowd just before the financial crisis. transmissions, transaxles, gears, axles, differentials, CV joints, suspension related parts, etc. lots of super freaking cool shit actually. race cars like this (formula atlantic and below that sprites and then all sorts of cars inbetween, some late model formula ford, all SCCA classes, etc... Relates to my choice not to transfer to Dubai with a AMLAW top 15 firm at the time. jesus fucking christ we went all in, then went all in again on a manufacturing company, moved it from SF to Austin, ballsy move and lost EVERYTHING when the financial crisis hit. only reason we didn't declare bankruptcy was because the lawyers were too busy to take us I couldn't get any traction. ended up with a few equity deals right after that that allowed us to dig out of our mess but holy mother of god 2008 - 2014 was unbelievably difficult. but success and failure is not a straight line, it's not linear, and our bounce back was quick from 2015 once I had the guaranty settlement amount paid off and started cashing in on what I had learned. Never go all in, not in vegas, not with a bank, not with your fortunes, maybe with a girl (phrasing I get it) but even then, consequences and risks abound.
  11. that score wasn't happening in 1985 with Fred Akers as the head coach my man. score had to be some version of 5, 15, 25... <-- those are shitastic numbers. And in that era, two top teams were not clearing 30 on each other, no way, no how.
  12. And hey with all us knuckleheads telling you what and how to do it… forgot to say … “welcome to the club!” when you turn the first real corner in about 8 weeks and then the next one at 4-6 months it’s going to be awesome. a year from now you’ll be fit, strong, able to do shit you did in your 30’s and it’s going to be bitchin. Enjoy the ride.
  13. Carlos Alcaraz’s US open prize Daytona … $37k…. Want (won’t get). Skinner has a silver one.
  14. If it works it works, but I can’t do tennis and the gym and be functionally active (spent 2 hours mowing the lawn last night just for fun) without carbs. And when I first started lifting and doing HIIT workouts again I was fucking ravenous. I was probably eating 3000 calories on work out days easily. mad props to you if you can calorie restrict, target carbs as the cut out and work out vigorously all at the same time. But it sounds like he may have you in zone two - just burn some calories to juice your weight loss efforts. but when you get to increasing oxygen capacity, max blood flow, building strength, I think carbs become really important. the only other thing I’ll say is carbs from rice, potatoes, fruits and vegetables are unlike carbs from flour based foods. I 100% understand eliminating wheat and flour. to me though, the only nutrition plan that makes sense to me is the anti-inflammatory/med diet with limited wheat and flour and if you use it, make sure it’s heirloom / ancient wheat grain. Oh and on the benefits of rice … Another thing about rice, it makes a complete protein with beans added. we are all just dummies on the internet so if you’ve hired someone who has a path forward for you that works just do it.
  15. eh , it's actually rotator cuff AIDS but what's the difference, he can't throw worth a shit and his facial expressions show it.
  16. michigan's inability to react to shit on the field was mind bottling. they should be out of the top 20 because their Michigan men are so fucking dumb...
  17. reporters are dumber than coaches.
  18. true but counter-point - last year's OL wasn't exactly road grading opponents in the playoffs. improvement will undoubtedly occur, but the themes of big guys not playing up to the standard esp in the run game is becoming a consistent theme. UGA and tOSU had plenty of success. maybe it was Ewers last year, or the play calling, or the fumbles, or smaller backs and maybe this year it's Bax is tentative or Arch throwing at feet, or the spartans were quick. but the one constant has been that most people observe underperformance from the OL when they need to excel the most.
  19. most of the reason for OU being a problem is that Texas seems to like to look in the mirror with self admiration a bit too much. Add to that the fact that OU has an athletic QB that's not a total moron and a rabid looking defense and yeah I agree it'll be a closer game than we want and that means an upset is possible.
  20. truthfully, colorado is a better place to live right now than texas - especially for women - and whether it's a flight or a drive (get those playlists ready), it can be an adventure for you as well. I know it's hard, hang in there and when the urge hits, go see that young man, you'll never regret going up there.
  21. Interesting - that’s a likely off ramp - a hostile but negotiated business agreement - if it can make sense. Two step - punch them in the mouth, then ask if they want to do a deal that makes you both money instead of costing you money on knucklehead attorneys (no offense to my fellow lawyers here). Litigation in this setting would be the first round of “yeah no, that don’t work for us, fuck off.” You then hope a few punches leads to a more reasonable vie of things. What many fail to see is that perception changes over time and in litigation it can change rapidly. What was a stupid deal 5 months ago looks enticing after money spent and little progress is made or one realizes their position just isn’t that strong. Psychology of the whole thing along with the pocketbook are paramount in most of these situations.
  22. We use the supplemental register all the time (I dabble in trademark some). We’ve had clients obtain incontestability status on the primary by starting on the supplemental register. I had one client start on the supplemental with their company name and they ended up selling for $500m, so in many cases it’s a powerful and effective strategy for marks that are rejected (which is becoming more and more common). I hope you are right about in house counsel (I missed that) but yes even when the other party has the financial leverage there are ways to push enough to make them think it’s not worth it to them. And there are two types of lawyers - the strategic and the literal. I would hire the litigator who answers the strategic line of questioning best (assuming their credentials add up, which is usually easy to verify independently).
  23. Fuck yeah. I’m pretty sure I have the 10 years younger part and looks too…. some dude at the country club bar by the golf course said I looked 37 the other day (I’m 50). I mean he may have been enamored with me and ramblyn and probably drunk and engaging in flattery but I’ll take it.
  24. People aren’t having kids later in life wtf are you talking about …? *didn’t know that about dads.
  25. Ugh, there are very few legal problems I look at anymore and lose sleep over but this one, man it could be one. Regardless of the merits (there probably is a legal way out), the financial leverage mismatch is going to fucking suck. If it’s true you can’t capitulate, save your cash and make a change, then I’d go hard and fast at them with whatever you can and then look for the acceptable off ramp as soon as you can. Financial resolve is easily the biggest factor in cases like these. Sometimes though even the big dog doesn’t want to spend the money if you don’t immediately roll over. Ugh again, I do not envy you or the position you’re in. and while your situation isn’t exactly on point, having a federal registration is as much about avoiding this kind of crap as it is pushing others out. Every single business that relies on branding should make sure their brand is protected.
