Spent my day with truss rod adjustments and adjusting the heights of the humbucker pole pieces and the pickup itself to get rid of the muddiness. Sounds much, much better now. Ordered a Reverend soft-touch spring for the Bigsby. The one in it is too stiff, and I don't have the patience to let it break in.

The guitar sure is a pretty thing. I almost went with the sparkle Lake Placid blue. Happy with the Aztec gold.

I will say, every Fender and Squier (aside from the Joe Strummer tele) I've ever gotten has needed tweaking out of the box to get it to sound right. The biggest offender was the Vintera Nocaster. I've got three Sires and everyone was perfect out of the box. How can they accomplish that, but Fender can't?

It was pretty crazy how the Sire was just ready out of the box.  Even still in tune.

The wife and I were out running around this evening and we swung by Guitar Center and they had a Reverend.  I’ve never tried one so I checked it out. It played nice, but I’m kind of a snob on how a neck and fretboard edges should feel after having my Sire S7V.  It’s ruined me.

So it’s not just Fender.
