Liverpool FC 2023-24: Return of the Mac Allister

The backbone of our title runs was defensive stability. This is just a worse version of last year except now our strikers are healthy so I guess we hope to win 6-4 every game?

You cannot pull Trent from RB and place him next to a makeshift #6; the defensive structure is just turbofucked when we give the ball away.

Lots of smoke around Fluminese's DM Andre. Sounds like it'll take £40M to get him in immediately or £25M for a January move but could also depend on their Copa Libertadores result, which is tied 1-1 going into the second leg Tuesday. C'mon Argentinos Juniors!

As someone who's followed him since yesterday morning, he seems like a great buy but only if we get in another 6. Hard to see us dropping our interest in Lavia but Southampton seem intent on playing hardball. Either way, we're gonna be playing our first few fixtures without a true ball winner and that is a bit concerning.

So we're going to possibly lose both including one who we would've already had in training had we just ponied up more money? Then we decide to try to hijack the other while I guess not actually seeing if he would agree to come to Liverpool? So now we're getting no other midfield signings going into the first weekend. Brilliant work, FSG!

Unless this means Chelsea are bowing out of paying for Caicedo but when has money been an issue with that club as compared to us?

This is a really embarrassing saga for the club. You don’t often see us entangled in very public transfer sagas and this is two black eyes in the span of a week. If they don’t get their shit straight and finish strongly in this transfer window, heads will roll…

So Caicedo still wants to go to Chelsea but Chelsea supposedly can't bid at or above our level because of FFP. Chelsea needs us to walk away from the deal so they can sign him for less. So I guess everyone is stuck. Seems like we make the deal with Chelsea that we'll walk away but you can't get Lavia too. Lavia has stated he'd like to come to Liverpool. I get Caicedo is talented but I'd rather have the guy who wants to be here than the one who doesn't.
