It’s a damn shame we ended up on the side of the bracket with three teams that we can completely blow out.

The other side of the bracket has number three Colorado and number 10 nc state in it.

not exactly puffing up our SOS but at least our entire bench got some experience and the girls got some snorkeling in.

Rori Harmon earned tournament MVP honors. Over the three games Harmon scored 34 points, including 15 in the championship game against South Florida. Harmon tallied 15 assists over the three games of the tournament with 0 turnovers

Is that good? Seems good

Texas held USF to 44 points despite only forcing 17 turnovers. +12 on the glass. USF scored 24 in the 4th off our backups (9-16, 4-7 from three). Those 4 threes were the only 4 they made all game (4-18)

Texas absolutely put its foot on the gas in the third quarter out of the break (11-13 shooting and 4 FTs)

FT shooting was really good yet again - 11-13 (84.6%). Very efficient in not jacking up shots - only took 7 threes and made 3 (Maul hit 2 and Rori hit 1). Shaylee didn’t have her shot (1-7, 0-1) and didn’t try to force it

Texas has held opponents to single digit scoring in 12 quarters out of the 28 we have played.

Oral Roberts is up next - Wednesday at 11am. The screaming children game

Besides Fudd, sounds like Ducharme is missing some time with neck spasms. She may be limited on Sunday

UConn fans are mixed - some think they win, some think they lose. Not a consensus “we will win.” They do agree our frontcourt is going to be an issue for them and they may struggle to break our full court press without Fudd, who was breaking in on her own a year ago.

They have no idea how they defend someone like Amina. But at the same time, no idea who will guard Paige on our end.

Im stoked for this game

Should be a fun game, I like our chances. Go inside to Jones as often as possible and crank up the D.

Helpful that AMo is already playing at an extremely high level considering she was out for so long. Showing very little rust.

Throw a commitee at Bueckers, but not sure you want 5'6" Rori on her. Don't want Rori in foul trouble.

They have certainly played a much tougher schedule than us, to their advantage.

Probably not Rori. She will guard Ducharme if she plays. 5’6 Rori versus 6’0 Bueckers is scary. Might be a combo of Holle/Shaylee/Booker. Ensure Rori is harassing whoever is handling the ball to disrupt their flow

Jones killing them, Rori uncharacteristically sloppy.

Team may be a bit tired, it is kind of a quick turnaround from being on vacay + playing 3 games in 3 days. I'm sure we flew back on Sunday.

I wish we had the entire week off, like UConn.  I mean, we are 100% looking ahead to UConn.  And that's fine.

This is a "just don't get hurt" game.

Amina is really looking good. Great defense and finishing well on offense,

UConn is concerned with how to defend Amina.  She's so long, so active on defense and finishes shots well.

Texas up 51-24 at the half.

We got beat down the court a couple of times as well.

We usually do.  Teams try to break our press with home run balls - sometimes they hit, but sometimes they end up being turnovers.

By the way, looking more into it, Ducharme missed Sunday's game against KU with lingering concussion symptoms.  She's had this issue for a while.

Quote

"Despite spending all summer healthy and refocusing her rehab, Ducharme continues to deal with lingering side effects from a handful of bad hits throughout her first two years in Storrs. 'Caroline’s always day-to-day,” Auriemma said. “We show up. They tell us if she's going. She's going she goes, if she can’t, she can't.'”

No word on her availability for Sunday yet.

No Fudd and no Ducharme would bode quite well for Texas.

Have they said what Faye’s injury is?  Didn’t see hard contact, but it looked like broken collarbone with how she grabbed that area

Did they just say something about Hadi's injury? Trying to work and watch the game...

I assumed it wasn't serious like a collarbone since they didn't announce it. That brace did look bad.

Vic won’t be happy that we gave up 50 points to ORU in the second half. Those shots that weren’t dropping for ORU in the first half were dropping in the second half. That being said, we were most likely intentionally being less physical against ORU knowing what is ahead this weekend. Aside from Moore’s finger sprain today we didn’t add any new injuries

All the AAS (Danny Davis) tweeted before the game was "out with a shoulder injury," which must be the line from UT.   Either they won't reveal what it is or it's not as serious as it looked.

in other news, Angel Reese is “suddenly” unsuspended the day before LSU faces Virginia Tech lol

Poole is still not back though and now Sa’Mayah Smith is done for the year

Kim’s natty will buy her goodwill but that program stinks more than the Mississippi River
