That said, I feel like the “what happened with Steven & 5 in the offseason?” discussion has become sort of ubiquitous and not something niched away somewhere.

This. It has been discussed on virtually every thread for the last month and a half.

I don’t remember the old shaggy having this many voluminous idiots, but it’s probably hindsight thing.

Speaking of….

Has anyone ever seen BO&W and Bloodworth post at the same time?

The football board was always a descent into mental hell.  It has it's perks though.  The idiocy during the game threads is cheap therapy about how messed up some of those posters lives must be.

To be fair, the rehab innuendo can get lost amidst the deluge of wr cuckolding innuendo.

IT

We’ve already seen two surprising and, again, decisive moves from Sark. Currently there’s a vacant safeties coach position that Will Muschamp will fill. Probably Travaris T-Rob Robinson.

As you know, Chris Jackson does not have a contract for 2026. IT does not expect Jackson to return. If I’m reading this right, Sark is trying to get a bit rougher around the edges, similar to replacing Chad Scott with Jabbar Juluke. One potential replacement we’ve heard is a bit off the radar these days but makes sense from a couple of different angles.

We’ve also caught wind of one potential analyst, at least we think it’s for analyst. Like many of these guys—Paul Chryst for example—they’re good enough to be position coaches. Sark was an analyst himself at one point.

I'm trying to recall - and may be wrong - but I don't think I've ever heard him refer to himself as an alcoholic or say that he quit drinking entirely. The closest I can remember is someone saying that he's sober in an interview and Sark didn't correct them. He's talked a lot about being open and honest about his past, which obviously includes severe drinking problems, but that's not the same as self-identifying as an alcoholic.

It probably doesn't mean much either way. A person is who he is, regardless of what he calls himself. I just want to have my story straight.

Masterful no-info non-update from IT. Truly the best in the business at spinning public knowledge into $9.95.

@Park GothicI really don't know sir and you may be right. I just know the man is human and has been through some real stress - the kind that can temporarily break people. I think many of us have seen some of the things I speculated on break strong as granite friends for a bit. Whatever happened (no idea - didn't notice or know), he's back and fixing some things on his staff.

If we could target an OL coach - any ideas from some that know more than me (most of you - I have a buddy that spent years with the 49ers as a OL and knows his stuff is my all) about a target? I want a new safeties coach too. Muschamp is human and will have plenty - don't want him tied up coaching a position. Oversee it all, yes.

This feels like a sound reason to replace him. Especially if all he is doing is almost getting us titles.

Well he didnt have his personal shit together and as a result we "almost" made the playoff this year. Based on his body of work I'm good with one of those, but if he has two years in a row of off the field bs that appears to negatively affect the team then I'm pretty sure he wont get a third strike. Could be wrong. Also, he would have to try pretty hard to create a mess that matches this last one. I actually feel bad for him in some ways, and I bet there's a good chance it was a needed wake up call for him. It looks to me like he's getting us back on track.

am I the only one that saw wide open receivers all over the place this year. we either didn't see him or we dropped the ball. sark to me just gave up on run to quick. even with sub par oline like everyone thinks, we would run the ball then quit.

There were at least 2 walk in touchdowns missed with a drop or overthrow.  There were another 4 at least drops in crucial down and distance moments with 10-20 yards of open field.  I dont put that on Sark. Not saying completing half those plays makes us 10-2 or 11-1, but IMO Sark's offensive play calling is about 4th or 5th down the line....OL personnel, Mosely not seeing the field due to whatever, lack of quality RB depth, drops and flags are way up the list when writing the story of Texas this year IMO

You're not the only one I've seen post like there was some coaching reason Moseley didn't start for a while.

Only speculation but the man has had a rough marriage. Going from getting divorced, ok we're going to work on it to having a kid. Anyone that has been married for a bit of time knows such a public getting divorced to all the other things is very odd. I've seen these things break people for a time.

His job is hard. There are no days off. Stress can beat you down from this alone add in the above stuff. He may have just needed a mental break.

He's also a recovering alcoholic. There's a reason those support groups have mentor type people. That never goes away. Maybe he needed a bit of time with recentering himself considering how much he was dealing with.

Or shit, maybe he had COVID.

All just ideas - no facts. But those are things that can beat a person down. I really like Sark and how he represents Texas. I'm cheering for him and respect the man. Now there has to be a badass OL coach we can money whip out there?

He was helping Tebow on a church missionary in the Phillipines.  PK had expressed interest in being a HC so Sark wanting to test him out, tasked him with OL recruiting and backfilling the RB and DB coaching positions.  As you can see, PK failed miserably but Sark took the blame.  PK also begged Sark to cancel the spring game because his defense wasn't ready.  So, now we know why PK was let go.

I was bringing it up because everyone thinks that a new oline coach is gonna change the team dramatically and I don’t think so. Arch not missing wide open guys and just reading defenses better will dramatically make this team better. The oline will be better just from experience alone next year whether we have new oline coach or not, Pending players all return of course. Experience alone next year will make us really good and we’re close even with our deficiencies.

where is this being reported? that PK wanted to be a HC so he was given key positions to recruit and was the cause of the spring game cancellation?

and who went to the Philippines with Tebow to share about Jesus?

Hey fellas, he just got here and he's hurt. He'll be playing in two weeks. Christ that was annoying.

Well seeing as we’re in a conference with our 3 rivals and those rivals are our permanent opponents they are very important

Yeh, of course they're important, but I guess what I meant to say was they're hardly world beaters, but in the grand scheme of things, I don't care. We beat them, and life is good. Personally, I'm too young (way too young) for the Arky rival, so to me that's just another game. Ou:/aggy I care about dunking them in a toilet. But yeah, being in conference they're absolutely important. I just look down at them, I guess because the conference is new, we get different teams, and we don't have to wait until October for us to play someone who isn't a glorified HS team. Now we get Georgia, Bama (2026), Tenn (2026), Ole Miss (2026).

What I meant by just beating your rivals was it's great, but that shouldn't be our endgame. Bragging rights for sure, but they're not even our peers at the moment. They're so bad. We had such a shitty year and we still took them behind a dumpster and did things no man should ever admit to.

Yeah I'm not sure that's the vibe between CDC and Sark considering Sark makes more money and is a more valuable commodity.

You're right. I really did think for the longest time AD were able to fire coaches, like they're able to hire them. I think Sark and CDC are really, really close, and I don't see him being some dick to his friend. If anything, and I wrote this up top, he probably had a sit down with Sark to see what all he needs to get his goals accomplished. More staff, better coaches, whatever it may be. CDC is a good man, and I haven't seen anything to suggest otherwise. He's truly there to help his coaches succeed at the highest level. He also has to make hard decisions, too.

Anyway, regarding the firing of coaches, CDC fired Ange Kelly, so that's why I assumed that he could fire Sark if he needed or wanted to. Or how does that work? Is he only able to fire coaches from non-revenue sports, or how does that work (assuming you know, because obviously I don't)?

I assume I'm the druggy guy. I actually got clean (not that I was an addict). I did them to take away inner pain I've been dealing with, and I get you don't understand that. I've lost too many people, and my best friend took his life one year ago, so in order for me to function daily and at work I would take "drugs" (MDMA, xanax, etc) to get me in happy thoughts.

So just to clear that up. I also lost my dad, my two grandmothers to pancreatic cancer, a grandfather from brain cancer, and now I'm dealing with my mom having cancer. I don't recommend anyone take anything, but that's the only way I was/am able to survive each day. It's not something I'm proud of, even if I'm all about self-deprecating humor. It's made worse living alone, but at least I still have my dogs.

Robinson woukd be awesome. Steal from the Bulldogs and profit for us. He's a plus recruiter. I stopped counting, but his all-time recruits he has 9 five-star, and 12 high four-star, and then we get to the 150s where he's cleaned up. Dude will be a massive asset if he comes here.
