man city is this juggernaut team and yet they’re all flopping around like goddamn pussies making us stop the game over and over. fucking terrible.

You’re not wrong, but I don’t think currently they are a juggernaut. Their defense and midfield is pedestrian

Bobert Sanchez would have at least taken a red card.

What’s he doing there? You can go out or stay home. The one thing you can’t do is both

I really hate that we’ve just started adding on extra time instead of making players get on with play faster. The solution to players slowing the game down is giving them cards, not making the game last 3 hours

8 seconds for a goalie to play the ball is at least a start. I have to imagine shot clock on corners/goal kicks/throw ins is next. Some of these corner kick routines are ridiculous. 90 seconds of wasted time.

100%.  Arsenal have been the culprit of the long throw in for years, it’s maddening as a fan of the club.   Haven’t seen it as much this year, but if guys can’t get the ball in there needs to be some kind of penalty.

i keep seeing people post this as proof that arteta sucks, or has failed, and i’m just like, “huh?!?”. yeah, it sucks that we don’t have the trophies, but we also haven’t had man city’s talent or squad depth until right now. in other words, we’ve been playing at that high of a level despite not having a squad that should be approaching those numbers. now that we’ve got the top flight talent and depth, maybe let’s give arteta a chance to win one? i’m literally seeing arsenal fans quoting this graphic and saying, “at what point do we fire him for this?” and i just want to send tommy back there to hit them in the head with a tack hammer. that’s mind blowing to me. mikel merino was our staring striker last year for christ’s sake.

i’m gonna say something that you aren’t going to hear any other arsenal fans say, but i’m actually a huge fan of florian wirtz and i still expect him to become a key player for liverpool. it’s not unusual for guys to have an adjustment period when changing leagues, teams, play styles, etc. he’s too talented to flop imo.

ok, there might be a conspiracy. should be a red card for newcastle and a penalty for arsenal, and it ends up as no foul. fuck. that.

That was a truly great match. Liverpool and Chelsea both should be proud despite outcome. Phenomenally entertaining game.

That hire made no sense. Such a poorly run club. Firing NES was their first mistake. And then to not do this over the international break was a real head scratcher.

I did a little reading on the club's owner.  He's not an arsonist, but fires seem to follow him wherever he goes.

But that was just the beginning of the story. The seizure of the drugs shipped on the Noor One has triggered a long series of seismic aftershocks in Greece and around the world. The planners of the smuggling operation have turned on one another in a war of retribution that has left at least 17 people dead on three continents. Phone records are exposing scores of police whom the smugglers bought off, from Turkey to the United Arab Emirates. In Greece, an investigation into the Noor One captivated the national press—and then spurred a new wave of public interest in the case via a preliminary criminal trial and the rise of a new media magnate. The country’s current prime minister and one of his predecessors have accused each other of having connections to the heroin. And an ongoing investigation into who funded the Noor One threatens to ensnare Greek oligarch Evangelos Marinakis, one of the most powerful figures in global shipping and soccer.

The killings represent the most straightforward part of the saga—even if sleuthing them hasn’t been. They began three months after the Noor One was seized. Early on in the criminal investigation, authorities in Greece had allowed the most crucial figure in the operation to escape: the driver of the black SUV that had picked up the heroin when it arrived in Elefsina in June 2014. An Iranian Kurd, he sometimes went by the name Mohammed Diesel. Fearing arrest, Diesel had flown to Istanbul and pleaded with a childhood friend named Naji Sharifi Zindashti to smuggle him to safety into Dubai.

that villa goal to go up 2-1 just now was 😍😍😍. 19/20 players play the ball back to emi, but matty cash turns and fires it back against the run of play, where digne has a bergkamp-esque first touch and pass, followed by buendía finishing it beautifully from outside the box. 10/10 goal. just beautiful.
