I think the red flag for him is always been no one trying to hire him away. Everyone knows sark calls the plays but still, some programs could have wanted him to help them with the secret to Texas’ success to help with their program.

Ask Akina what the five toughest red zone passes are to defend, then run those with whichever QB we trot out there.

And Milwee to waterboy, unless that's what he already is.

Not buying thus. Manning has some pretty good resources for mechanics as well as a private coach.

He does not work with his private coach every day but he probably does work with AJ Milwee quite often and good techniques can be undone by bad coaching especially if the player is coachable as was evident with Manny _iaz and tackling.

The main point of the thread though is the AJ Milwee needs to be replaced with someone better and someone that can be in Sark's ear to make sure he is not rushing things or making huge mistakes on plays he wish he would have back in critical moments against elite competition. So even if you are right Arch's private coach is not going to be in the box being an additional expert on play calling when critical plays need to be made to win a championship.

Akron Offensive FEI

2013 - 113

2014 - 122

2015 - 99

2016 - 90

2017 - 114

2018 - 126

Sark needing a competent second opinion is now everywhere, Chance Mock was saying it last night, on Bobby's show this morning someone suggested Tom Herman. Like usual the fix is apparent to the masses before it is obvious to the coach. Charlie Strong hired Shawn Watson and most here laughed and I said he had just put the first nail in the coffin before he even got started. Tom Herman brining mostly his entire staff from Houston and not going out and getting the best possible staff was heavily criticized on the boards. Will Sark do something in time or will he have us waiting for years like Mack to do something about it? AJ Milwee does not have the experience and is not good enough to help Sark fix his issues.

Neal Brown was said to have been hired in part because of his knowledge of the QB run game. Wonder if he's actually had any influence, because it didn't much seem that way against OSU.

Didn't Sark say they are at 64% TD rate in the red-zone. So Neal was worse so he won't help the red-zone issue much based on what he has done in the past.

Summary Table — WVU Red-Zone TD Percentage under Neal Brown

Year Red-Zone TD % Notes
2019 ~47 % Very low, ~119th nationally 247Sports
2020 ~61 % Significant improvement 247Sports
2021 ~66 % Further progress 247Sports
2022 ~63 % Slight dip from 2021 247Sports
2023 ~60.3 % Dropped modestly 247Sports

Sark should stop bragging about 64% considering Elite Programs / National Champions ~70–76%

I don't know if Brown is any red zone wizard, just that he was expected to bring some value with his ideas on the QB run game.
