[…] they realized Excalibur was having pricing issues when the room rate is $29 but they charge $12 for coffee. He says they are making adjustments.

So they’re upping the room rates. Got it.

Zuma at Cosmo has a $250 minimum per person for NYE.  I think we will be eating in the food court that night as I’m sure most restaurants will be similar.

Doesn’t a normal dinner at Zuma cost around that?

Back where it belongs.  So glad they realized their mistake - even if it is a loss leader for them.

Went and checked out The wizard of Oz last night at the Sphere. Pretty damn cool, took a couple mushroom stems and enjoyed the show. Going to the hockey game tonight, should be pretty cool.

Planning on flying out on the 18th and staying through the 21st for the first weekend of the CFP. In the past have either stayed at Wynn or Caesar Nobu when I go with my wife or Westgate when I go with my son. Thinking of trying Cosmo this time since I can use Bonvoy points and the terrace rooms overlooking the Bellagio fountains look super cool and are a good price right now. We're early 60. Will we be out of place there? Any other issues with Cosmo?

We've got reservations for the beginning of January, I am really looking forward to that meal.

Agree on skipping the Cosmo buffet.  The food court is a much better option for a quick meal.

The crowd is a little younger but the location and balconies can’t be beat, I guess I might be concerned it is cool enough to not enjoy the balcony in late December but that is just up to chance.

Yep. I haven’t been to Vegas in quite a while. That restaurant was run with the oversight of the old man in the way he set things up. I interacted with him a few times and you could just tell his fingerprints were on the culture of the place. I always assumed the son would take over (I never met him) and keep the traditions going. Little did I know he was a problem and not the future of the place.

From reading the comments about it on the LasVegaslocally Twitter feed from earlier in the year, I’m not too optimistic on how this new ownership will do but we can only hope they don’t fuck it up.

Someone should post their next experience here for the rest of us to get an update.

I'm going in January. I didn't know about the ownership change.
