Yes, they return everyone except the starting catcher, one of the starters in the OF and two reserve players. They are also adding one of the top incoming freshman P in the country and a couple of other highly rated croots. Next year, they should be loaded.

Of the final 16 teams:

Loses a lot: OU, UCLA (if Garcia goes to the Olympics and takes 2020 off), FSU, Ok State, Tennessee
Loses some but still a good core: Washington, Arizona, LSU, Kentucky, Michigan, Northwestern
Loses a little but returns most of the roster: Alabama, Texas, Minnesota, Ole Miss

Yeah, it's really tough to diss OU considering their history but they graduate 6 seniors including: Aviu, Clifton, Knighten and Romero.  It's really hard to replace that production.  But no fear, I'm sure Patty Gasso will somehow pick up 8,000 high profile transfers

Should there be a limit on the number of transfers schools may take each year??

Just seems like free agency with no salary cap in women's softball...

16-3  Final.... Ucla pummels blOU

Any thoughts on limiting # of transfers to one school per year??

(Maybe only 4 per year and no more than 6 in any two year period?)

OU only touched Garcia for 3 hits and a run in 5 innings. OU pitching got torn up.

Mendes - 1 inning 4 hits 4 runs

Juarez - 4 innings 5 hits 4 runs

Lopez - 1.1 innings 4 hits 3 runs

Saile - 0.2 innings 2 hits 4 runs

No good options for Gasso tomorrow. Youch

That was a thrashing.  And the Bruin baseball team rallies from the brink. Destiny?

Man, that looked like vintage UCLA of the 80s and 90s.  It really helps to have the NPOY on your team.  Enjoy it now because if she takes a year off for the Olympics next year, it'll be a bit ugly until she comes back.

When Cat did that in 2004, Texas went from 47-9 and the WCWS in 2003 to 24-25 in 2004 to 49-13 and the WCWS in 2005.  I doubt UCLA would miss the tournament, but man softball being back in the Olympics means 2 college stars like Garcia and Mulipola may sit out next year.

That was before coaches could play the free agent transfer market like they do today, it'll be interesting to watch.

True true.

If KIP can get a one year rental to replace Garcia until 2021, why the fuck not?  But any transfer with more than a year left will definitely have to realize she's getting shoved aside in 2021 if/when Garcia comes back.

OU and UCLA have played twice this year: 7-1 and 16-3. I see zero reason why game 3 is going to benefit OU.

They've been absolutely rocked by OU hitting.  Rachel Garcia has only given up 2 ER in 12 innings versus OU (7 in the first meeting, 5 yesterday).

Leadoff double leads to nothing for the sooners. UCLA up to bat next

OU fired up and Rachel Garcia sat them down. Made them look foolish in the 2 K. Holy hell that 3B defense
