  1. Probably not, but they struggled in some games too. They beat 8-4 VaTech by 2 and 8-4 BC by 11. They were the best team, but they were not invincible.
  2. This made me laugh.
  3. But ours is the biggest... https://twitter.com/UTAustin/status/1694028085660659785?s=20
  4. I think USC Traveler is right, unless it’s just a coincidence that ABC did not broadcast any prime time SEC games last season, even though almost none of them were against CBS games.
  5. That’s not a thing anymore. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/sec-passes-rule-allowing-immediate-eligibility-for-intraconference-transfers-starting-in-2021-season/amp/
  6. To be clear, I wasn’t suggesting that ESPN would put the better game on ESPN, I was suggesting that ESPN would have better games because they own a lot more inventory, so they are much more likely to have two good games at the same time than Fox or CBS, and thus conferences with deals with mostly ESPN will have more games on cable.
  7. I think ESPN has historically put more big games on cable than any other network, so my guess is the conferences with deals with them tend to be lower than those with deals with Fox. ESPN gets better ratings than FS1 and ESPN also just owns more inventory than Fox and can only show the same number of games on its network.
  8. If the other areas of the state hadn't won a title since 1990 and central Texas had four different teams win six total titles in that time frame, I'd probably say central Texas was better. I generally agree that the median Big 12 school is better than the median ACC school, but I think the lack of anything at the top makes the ACC the better football conference (at least until FSU/Clemson/Miami leave).
  9. I could see an argument for splitting it 50-50 between the family and Oher, but there is no way it makes sense for SJ and Collins to get equal shares.
  10. The ACC has three national championships in football over the last decade and the Big 12 has none. If you remove Clemson and FSU, that obviously changes, but while they're in the league, you cannot say the football has been better over the last decade.
  11. They're supposedly getting $10 million a year from UCLA, at least for now.
  12. Interesting article on the ACC. I particularly noted the reason for NC State's no-vote on expansion - not that they have anywhere to go, but they want to be tied to UNC (and thus presumably in the ACC forever). https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/38198507/acc-florida-state-college-football-2023-conference-realignment

  15. Michael Lewis and Sean Tuohy are good buddies from high schools - that's how he ended up telling their story. I doubt he was looking to bring down one of his oldest friends.
  16. Regardless of whether he has a legal case, it appears that he was definitely screwed over by these people. Maybe he couldn’t have taken money in 2007 under NCAA rules, but the movie didn’t come out until 2009 after he was done playing football and it’s not like they couldn’t have waited until he was done playing in college. Instead, they apparently negotiated big deals for the entire family and nothing for the main character.
  17. Except the conservatorship agreement wasn’t signed until he was 18.
  18. You’re assuming the committee voting will happen the same way when those spots matter instead of being just for show mostly.

  20. There is quite a bit of variance in the amount of the fees - UNC's is $279; UVA's is $742; and JMU's is $2,362. I think students voluntarily paying for tickets or passes is different than just taking it out of everyone's tuition.
