  1. Thoughts on the draft: Yes, horrible to choke away #1 pick, no sugar coating that. Chicago is highly unlikely to go away from Fields in this draft, but if they did or if they trade the pick, this just feels like one of those drafts where Bryce Young is everyone's favorite and CJ Stroud ends up being the better pick. Or Levis from UK or Hendon Hooker from Tennessee, or whoever. Plenty of guys from those profiles have gone on to succeed in the NFL after being highly questioned during the draft process. Not going QB at all would be fine with me. Plenty of rebuilds have involved drafting great linemen and signing proven FA talent for QB, or securing them in lower rounds. Not taking a QB at #2 or #12 is not make or break. Aaron Rodgers sat in the green room forever. Russell Wilson was a third round pick. Jake Delhomme and Kurt Warner went undrafted. Tale as old as time. Peter Skoronski out of Northwestern manned LT in a good pass-rush conference and dominated. Maybe you take him and move on from Tunsil. Get Tyree Wilson from Tech or QJ from TCU at #12 if still available. Lots of ways this could go. At this time, there is no true gamebreaker that is apparent for the draft. This could cause Chicago issues with moving the pick. Will Anderson Jr may be worth moving up for, but will anyone give up a fortune to take Bryce Young or Jalen Carter or Bryan Bresee? Seems unlikely - but the NFL is an environment where anything can and will happen.
  2. Just Shefter and the like suggesting they hear chatter of Nick being in as hot of water as Lovie. No clue if that is true but Shefty always gets fed info like that to leak and test the general waters before teams make moves.
  3. A very, very sad #2 pick in the draft (and #12) and $48M in cap space, good for 7th most available cap space. That is some serious gunpowder to work with. Need to nail the hell out of this draft, and bring in a coach for whom big free agents are willing to play. Lovie is gone for sure, hopefully Caserio too although if we retain him it would be not be egregious. He was handed what was at the time as big of a personnel and draft mess as anyone, but if we had the chance to go get someone much more proven that is the way to go. Look no further than Astros or Rockets as Luhnow and Morey picked up garbage and turned it into gold (Luhnow via some serious tanking I might add, in years where fans were constantly saying he should be fired). If Manning (unproved yes, but obviously has pedigree to be great) really wants to be a GM, we should probably be calling him and ringing his doorbell every day until he files for a restraining order. So, to review for the offseason: New coach New GM New owner New players New name & logo New uniforms Hire Joel Osteen
  4. Feeling like Caserio and Lovie will both be gone, based on general chatter of the so called experts in the NFL. Would make for a fun offseason, at least.
  5. Not a middle finger from Lovie or anyone. Coaches and players have salaries, and on top of salaries they get performance incentives and are always auditioning for their next job - they do not go out and give less than their best, mostly. Tanking is the GMs job - assemble a roster and coach bad enough that makes winning extremely difficult. Caserio did that. We needed a Pick-six, three turnover first half, a 4th and 13 conversion and a 4th and 20 conversion, and a Hail Mary, and a 2 point conversion to win…. Think about that… A fucking disaster that we won, but we did what was necessary for the tank. I’m good to get rid of Caserio FWIW.
  6. Uh ok aggy, sweet nickname and failure to both a) understand we wanted to lose and b) wait until the game ended.
  7. OK this could be much worse. That Matt Schaub special is the difference here. Indy turned it over 3 times and abandoned the run, I doubt they’ll repeat that in 2H. This is a very loseable game. Steelers up at half on CLE, but Chicago appears hopeless.
  8. Not enjoying this game so far but I do appreciate the clearly parody comic-relief from the “Lovie’s doing OK” crowd. 😂
  9. Jesus, Indy. Losing this game is gonna be sweat, Chicago down 7 early as well. Hook em, Sam
  10. Like Culley, he was given the job bc it would be more likely to secure us the #1 pick, not to keep him around. Like Lovie as a guy, but he’s never been a great HC and he’s gonna get the axe after the Colts game. I just hope they don’t pull it out and cough up the top pick in the 11th hour.
  11. In order for aggy to reach maximum comedy, they must first get their hopes up. I can’t wait until they crush whatever cupcake they play in the opener, so they can crown Petrino and prepare the roller coaster.
  12. Ketch sucks but thinking he has this kind of influence is a joke. He’s a hamburgler, not the boogie man.
  13. After how good Stidham looked yesterday Carr may come cheaper than that. Or he might get cut outright. And maybe for the same reasons he’s not a very good signing… 😂 Will be interesting to see who we hire has HC. I expect Lovie to get the axe promptly on Black Tuesday, hopefully things move quickly after that.
  14. Indy is DOGSHIT. But we will likely get to root for Ehlinger to seal the Texans dream season next week.
  15. People might’ve said this exact same thing about Josh Allen. If we get a defensive coach in here and take some defensive beast at 1, I don’t think it would be all bad to take Levis with our Browns pick if he looks to pan out. Or maybe sign Carr and go OL with that second pick… We’ll have great draft capital and plenty of money to spend. It’s up to Caserio and the new coach to get it done.
  16. Dykes inherited some great pieces for his 1st year. They should not have fired Patterson, that program will decline - leading to my second point. If we had hired Dykes as the HC, you complaining lot would’ve thrown the biggest tantrum this site has ever seen.
  17. Jesus, This thread is going to be a human centipede for months… adieu.
  18. All of those guys played behind very, very good OLs. Ours is not very good.
  19. If Crybaby Bullshit had been written by Wagner, this would be its crescendo. 👏👏👏
  20. That Prisoner-Of-War style Mayo cameo from the players was amazing!! I am in tears from laughing
  21. Herman put an exclamation point on getting great RBs but failing to give them an OL to maximize their gifts. We’re making good progress on OL under Sark. Better run game, better pass protection… better team. And D looks good and is also heading in right direction. Some of y’all talk about Washington like we were the superior team and we blew it. Frankly, they were better than we were.
