  1. @Skipper If your fingers blister up, put vitamin E oil on the tips of your fingers.
  2. This thread is a good idea. 3 neighborhood kids (10-13 yrs old) have decided to play the guitar during this time. I've worked with the parents to get them into decent guitars and the kids have been asking me questions about different things. I've thought about offering to have a group session with them, just to see where they are. Then maybe work one-on-one with them if they want. One kid plays the violin in middle school and when I showed him that the violin and mandolin were tuned the same, and then the mandolin is just the 4 strings of the guitar, flipped upside down, his eyes lit up. It was like I could see his mind working. Really cool to see that excitement. My main advice to beginnings, and I know the OP is beyond this, but it is in dealing with switching between chords. Don't worry about fretting each note exactly as you change chords. Keep your strumming pattern consistent. Hell, most of the time, progressively changing the notes from one chord to the other sounds cool AF anyway.
  3. Holy Shit, @El Diablo. I've been laughing at this for about the last 20 minutes. Triple Tapa Rep my friend!
  4. Thanks Dewey, Twice and Talent: I'm learning that there is a lot of stuff with my wife that being sober probably isn't going to fix. I'm going to have a pretty big decision this year about that. I'm still dealing with the stuff I have learned about myself this past year...how I am the way I am. One thing mentioned above is taking things personally. Stuff at work and shit my wife says to me. Not so much what she says, but how she says it. It all has a long, historical basis, and I know that now. Anyway, I really appreciate your input.
  5. My one year was May 8. Since you are fresh off yr two, what are some things that were harder in the second year?
  6. Wow. That dude is an artist. Really cool to see him do his craft.
  7. That cam whore blocked me a long time ago when I congratulated her on her ability to heal a compound fractured arm in 2 days. For those that don't remember, she posted a picture of an xray for a broken arm, saying it was her. Quick reverse photo look-up. Lying whore was busted. Still, my favorite is the picture of her putting together some bunk beds in her air bnb, using a cordless drill, with no fucking battery in it.
  8. I forgot about her calling herself a "disaster scientist"
  9. Amazing! And that bulldog with the sombrero is the greatest mascot logo ever. Thanks for posting that.
  10. @Buzzrock Is your GT guitar a First Act? I won a "Miller Lite" First Act years ago in a fixed raffle at a bar but I gave it away to a buddy for his retirement. And when I say fixed, they drew tickets until someone they liked actually won. One time, this same guy fixed a radio contest in a much more complex way that involved a couple of radio stations and a large beer distributor. The prize was a 4 day weekend to Daytona. The guy who was supposed to win was a HUGE fan of "The NASCAR" but was about to have to go to the Fed pen due to a misunderstanding with the destination of a significant amount of white powder. My buddy figured it would be a perfect send off before heading to Yazoo City for a stint in the pen. The fix worked and the dude won. My buddy called to let him know. The winner said, "Thanks, but I can't take the tickets. I'm awaiting my sentencing and I can't leave the state". My buddy had called in about 10 favors to pull this off and it was all for nothing.
  11. From the website: https://takebackaustin.org/ I'm going to need an interpreter for this sentence from Ms. Kelly In recent years, the current state of our City has built increasing concern in me more each day. She apparently didn't have even one person proof the text: This growing concern has made it so that I could no longer sit back and watch the downfall of our once great home, it has forced me to take action. I believe and stand for transparency, accountability and leadership.
  12. Foggy, How in the fuck have you kept this to yourself all of this time?

  14. Chicago Music Exchange did that to me on a pedal (modded Soul Food). Two months later, it was still showing on their site. When I asked them about, they were complete dicks.. Fuck those guys.
  15. https://www.musiciansfriend.com/stupid/ Love the color name. Irish Ale.
  16. Thanks. This is kind of the thing I want to do with it. Something to beat on and work on playing a different style. The size of this one that Todd is playing is perfect. I really like this one from your link: http://www.lapatrieguitars.com/guitar_45402_etude.html
  17. During this quarantine stuff, I have guitars all over the house. Never can tell when you are going to need to pick one up. I'm really beginning to think I want to pick up a cheap, nylon string. Anyone care to opine on nylon strings. Was hoping to keep it under $500, but that Taylor is a lot of guitar for only $200 more. Deciding between the Taylor Academy 12e Grand Concert ($700) or the a Yamaha CG 12MS ($240). The Taylor is more of hybrid...neck isn't as wide as a true classical.. Taylor: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N26CDMJ/?coliid=I2G60WY7VD1J3X&colid=3PD04MIQK29LS&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it Yamaha: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003FJGDL8/?coliid=I3GJEGB7TMRKE8&colid=3PD04MIQK29LS&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it And FUCK, I really want a D18 but the IRS is asking for about 3 D18s so going to have to wait.
  18. Yep. I taught both of my daughters when they learned to drive. They had to be able to jump a car and change a flat before they got the keys to the car. You have to teach them before they are 18. After that, they become unteachable.
  19. Is that the dude who plays keys and trumpet for Bob Schneider? He wears shit like this on stage all the time. I saw him at an outdoor show, when it was about 99 degrees and he was completely decked out like this.
  20. Dammit @Buzzrock When are we opening up our new guitar?
  21. cold Bud Light and your some sweet-ass split tail and sing along......
  22. Not sure I've told this one from years ago. Has a bit of an extenuating circumstance in that my wife is deaf and before her Cochlear implant. But fuck me. I'm at work. I get a call that the house is flooding. Drive the hour to get home, she is standing on the main floor of the house, with water from up stairs, still dripping through the ceiling, light fixture, down the walls.. The carpet and furniture are soaked. "Obviously" a pipe had burst in the bathroom directly above. So I run down to the basement to shut off the water....more water there. Up to the master bath and the fucking sink is full of water, floor flooded, water soaked into the carpet in the bedroom and down the hall. She is washing some nylons in the bathroom sink, and she left the water running. Rather than wait the 90 seconds it would take to fill the sink, I guess she decided she would multitask, and got sidetrack multitasking 15 other things...for over an hour. She couldn't hear shit like running water from the next room, before her implants and the fucking sink didn't have an overflow. I wish I could say this was the only time that happened.
  23. Yep. That is why, if the HQ of whoever is behind HGTV blows up....I know NOTHING. Those motherfuckers can suck my ass.
  24. Outstanding! Let's keep it up, shall we?
