  1. Yeah, just bought it through MoviesAnywhere. It's time for a rewatch.
  2. NYTimes pitchbot, is that you?
  3. Eh, I wouldn't fight you. There's a handful of songs that have a pretty strong claim on that title, and that's one of them.
  4. And while we're at it, kudos to Robert Prescott for owning this role.
  5. What made Ebert a truly great critic for me was two things. One, his biases were always very clear. Two, he was very good at describing the relevant aspects of a film. As a result, I could read his reviews and tell if I would like a movie or not regardless of whether or not HE liked it.
  6. For a felony level charge, it's not; however, Trump has done some things already very early in this case that have made the prosecution's job much easier. "You have the right to remain silent" is good advice if you're accused, and impossible for a character like Trump to ever do. i should get a boat
  7. Truth. And the characters they're playing are very real, and not dated tropes, which is something Ebert caught on to at the time. "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" ended up being a timeless classic. Reviews from the 21st century point out that Reagan-era militarism and academic ethical violations have aged well, too; the former has become clearer in hindsight, and the latter is, like the Tears for Fears song, timeless.
  8. digging into reviews, it seems that contemporary Top Critics (outside of Ebert and Variety) were pretty bored with it (tbf it was released at the time when "science teen comedy" was a genre with titles like My Science Project and Weird Science going on) but later reviewers are overwhelmingly positive. Apparently it aged a lot better than its contemporaries...
  9. i wonder if I should watch this movie again to determine if it's as good as I remember it, or if I should just let the memory stay good and not destroy it
  10. I never sleep, I don't know why, I had a roommate and I drove her nuts, I mean really nuts, they had to take her away in an ambulance and everything, but she's okay now, but she had to transfer to an easier school, but I don't know if that had anything to do with being my fault, but listen, if you ever need to talk or you need help studying just let me know, 'cause I'm just a couple doors down from you guys and I never sleep, okay?
  11. That's a wonderful story, Bodie. I noticed you've stopped stuttering. I've been giving myself shock treatments! Up the voltage.
  12. also: "That's the last time I ever use Axe Body Spray. It kept giving me headaches."
  13. Would you be prepared if gravity suddenly reversed itself? If only I could figure out how to keep the change in my pockets... I've got it: Nudity.
  14. No, that was in 1984.
  15. Still my dream car.
  16. πŸŒŽπŸ§‘β€πŸš€πŸ”«πŸ§‘β€πŸš€ Always has been. You know who isn't in there and deserves to be? This guy:
  17. Eh, better safe than sorry.
  18. You're gonna end up dead after the cartel shoots and leaves.
  19. Yeah, though only at those who got drunk. Didn't judge the sex, except for the aforementioned losers who had to fuck high school chicks to get any. And yeah, I was a tightass. Still am, but used to be, too. I didn't think it was okay then, so it serves me right to think it's not okay now, either. And while I cringe at many of my decisions from back then, that's one I'm still happy with.
