  1. Fewer foreigners in the US. We are so winning!!
  2. Tesla's top executives to Musk: "Robotaxi is a losing project for Tesla and it will never be profitable. Not only that it will cannibalize existing sales. We need to focus on designing and building new, affordable and functional automobiles!" Musskkk:
  3. Alright which one of you did this?
  4. Sintra is lovely. Cascais didn't live up to the hype, although I can see the appeal if you're an expat who wants to live among other expats, or if you want to stay at a seaside hotel that's a short train ride into Lisbon. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to visit though. A couple places perhaps a little off-the-beaten path we went on our trip that I strongly recommend: A resort in the Algarve, Vila Vita Parc. Incredibly gorgeous resort on a clifftop with stairs down to private beaches. Great food and a ton of on-site activies, bars, pools, and restaurants. We had 5 days here but I wish we had planned a longer stay. If you're in the Algarve don't miss Rio Formosa Natural Park - a few miles of trails and wetlands along the coast with paths and a ton of nature and species. "Rustic luxury" they call it, at São Lourenço do Barrocal ranch/resort in the Alentejo region. Stunning. Easy access to Monsaraz and Evora. It's a stop for the Backroads group's cycling tour and the weather in March-April was great. Six Senses in Douro Valley. Lives up to the hype. Took a day trip to a nearby winery, Quinta do Crasto, and recommend their catered lunch. They're quite generous with the pours on their tasting. Took a small boat down the Douro afterwards by BB cruises. Stunning scenery. We had a *great* guide in Lisbon area for 3 days. He's pretty much all you'd want in a guide and by that I meant he's realistic and very knowledgeable with a lot of life experience outside of being a guide. Happy to share his details if you dm me.
  5. New tv show "The *Real* Housewives of Space" will debut on Prime next month.
  6. Jokes on her when the government defaults on its debt.
  7. If I had a moment i'd post what one nutcase hedge fund guy close to the administration (Ackman) posted about another nutcase hedge fund guy (Lutnick) who's part of the administration who did the 'everything is going to okay Americans will just do the jobs of Chinse for $2/hour" comedy routine yesterday on the news "interview" shows.
  8. The SV bros are bullish! The Main Street bros, not so much: We've been winklevossed
  9. My theory is that the likelihood of a walkback and thus a bit of a reprieve, at least, from the market onslaught is less likely given what appears to be a far less likely ability for the tariff regime creators to proclaim even a totally invisible victory out of the mess they created. In other words, there appears to be no self-effacing way for them to claim even a small win. My apologies if this is for the cr. I forgot to look there, I'm in Europe at this time and about to pop a pill so I can get some sleep while the market weeps.
  10. Very true especially when that man is dumb as a a box of rocks and so are the people he hires. https://www.axios.com/2025/04/06/trump-tariffs-error-aei It was speculated on Friday that the idiocy of the forumula they used to calculate the size of the tariffs was purposely made to look overly complex so that the architects of the tariffs regime didn't look stupid. It turns out those people are in fact extremely incompetent.
  11. In Porto this week. It's very crowded with tourists and there's so much construction going on. We had a guide this morning and it was great - learned quite a bit and saw many things I missed before. Plus the guides get to skip all the lines. Driving up the coast tomorrow to the Costa Verde -- Viana do Castelo and the surrounding area -- for a day trip. This was the line in front of the famous Porto book store this morning. The guide said it's less expensive to buy a ticket to the Louvre.
  12. it's particularly annoying because it's fake - a bad fake.
  13. @randomhornIt's subjective but if you can I think you should take it from the BigD, so to speak. If you only have a week I'd stay in Lisbon and the smaller cities or towns that are close by. A lot of the charm of Portugal is found in the smaller cities or towns. Consider also Aveiro and Costa Nova. You might think about hiring a driver to take you straight from LIS to Lagos. We just did that - hired a guy with a Mercedes Sprinter. Saves an entire travel day. (We used a travel agent but I got the guy's card - feel free to dm me if you want the contact. Lagos is definitely touristy btw so be prepared. Should add - I'm in Portugal now. Duoro Valley. We've been in PT for 10 days and weather has been phenomenal. Started out in the Algarves, then drove a couple hours to the Alentejo region, which reminds me of a prettier version of the Hill Country, then to the DV. It's been a great trip and still have 10 days.
  14. Just like everybody else on Surly, I'm certain, I can't wait until we get to hear about all the racist attacks on the aggy baseball players!! Wait, what's that? There were none?
  15. Wow the recalled cyberpanzer has a shit stain
  16. 4 ruzzian soldiers stroll through a field, until...(the short vid on the post is pg13 with a language warning, the telegram link is the gory one)
  17. Ruzzia's oil transmission station
  18. A cnbc reporter live-posted Huckster-muSSk's all-hands. It was far more bizarre than the reports. here's a few but there's about 20 of 'em: "There's 7,000 satellites orbiting the earth and all they use is solar panels and a battery." Predicts 90% or more of power on earth will be "solar panels with batteries." He says, "My predictions have a pretty good track record." ...If there’s a good or service you want, you can just have it. Everyone in the world will be able to have anything they want." And he's talking about this as "sustainable abundance" enabled by AI and robotics. "Optimus is learning to walk and catch balls it's pretty cool." In a short time Optimus went from being an idea to being "the most sophisticated humanoid robot on Earth." Tesla has what others don't - "Our robot has a real brain! It's like Wizard of Oz Tin Man..." "I think there's an opportunity" he said to make a "supersonic" electric VTOL "jet." Maybe we'll do that! (Tantalizing the fanbois.) Brings up "hyperloop" again. Oh boy.
  19. Yes. In fact, Dealer trade-ins of Teslas are up 300% https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/general/tesla-trade-ins-are-at-an-all-time-high-edmunds-says/ar-AA1Bp9oQ Edmunds: found that March 2025 represents the “highest ever share” on record of Tesla trade-ins toward new or used purchases at dealerships. Teslas accounted for 1.4% of the cars traded in through March 15, up nearly 300% from the same month last year, when just 0.4% of trade-ins were Teslas.
  20. Also, again, on behalf of All Jews, I'd like to voice my disgust for Musk's idiocy and his wink wink to neo-nazis.
  21. As a leading spokesperson for US Jews, we're not taking the fall for this motherfucker.
