  1. Get 5 more and see if Montero can take us home.
  2. I just hope Pena finishes the year driving in more runs than he lets in.
  3. You always want to make the third out at third. If only for mathematical symmetry.
  4. Rangers also are up there. Or down there, as it were. We'll see if that changes materially beyond September.
  5. A logical take, based on recent history. Still, I'm semi-shocked it played out this way. Well done.
  6. Just got to Knoxville on other bidness. Will report if I hear. 🤣
  7. It's like watching some kids building an elaborate sand castle on an incoming tide. You could try to tell them, but it's way more fun just to watch the destruction and smirk.
  8. If we keep sputtering along and flame out in October (if not before), I'm probably going to be irked about losing Clifford. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.
  9. Paying for all those easy extra runs we scored a few days back. Seems like a month.
  10. If he were cut and Baker fired at 11:00 p.m., I'd wonder what took so long. I don't think we're good enough to overcome both of them this year.
  11. He's round enough to be a catcher. Worth a shot.
  12. These 2-out rallies are an uphill battle. Tough way to score.
  13. Thanks. I suppose I just have assumed constant offensive failure by Maldy for so long that it no longer even imprints on me when he falls short. But other guys I expect more from and thus tend to recall their failures. Makes no sense, I guess.
  14. One of you guys who are into advanced metrics tell me how Meyers does in "no excuse for not getting a run in right here" situations. Because I have a feeling he needs that excuse...often. I don't see him as being much (if any) better in the clutch than Maldy is. If the opposing pitcher really needs a K, he'll usually get one with Meyers up.
  15. Maybe the Dustinator is slyly using Maldy as an "innings eater" during the dog days, so Diaz will be fresh for his extended stretch of starts in September and October. No, I'm not being serious.
  16. Why, these "noble men of Kyle" must be competing for spots in the esteemed Texas Fightin' Aggie Band.
  17. Paid upon signing? By SEC standards, that's waaaaay late.
  18. If anything, I believe that thin margin only reinforces my premise.
  19. They've lost 10 of 17 all time to A&M...so not really.
