It's a shame that the discourse seems to be focused on whether or not he specifically wrote the letter, and not that this is yet another significant data point detailing the closeness (and lewdness) of his relationship with Epstein. Even if he didn't personally write it, he was viewed as a close enough friend of Epstein to be asked to contribute to this present, and he (at the very least) allowed this to be sent on his behalf.
The Epstein story had a very active thread in r/conservative, with many posters admitting it looked bad… that has now been nuked without a trace. Two different realities.
A sure sign of a successful person is sharing seemingly derogatory anecdotes from 20+ years ago about someone who has clearly achieved more than you since then in every conceivable metric.
I'd bet a decent amount of money that:
1) It was a legitimate assassination attempt that only occurred due to universal incompetence in those that surround Trump
2) None of the shots got near Trump
3) He cut his ear on the way down (secret service belt?) and that's what caused the bleed
4) In the immediate aftermath with a bloody ear, I think the president's crew legitimately DID think he got shot, but it quickly became clear that it was not a bullet wound
5) There's no way Trump would ever admit to NOT getting shot, so the lie will forever persist
If there's anyone on this board involved with statewide Dem campaigns, a compilation of Republican politicians over the last decade saying "it could have been worse" overlaid with footage of all the disasters/shootings/whatever that they are referencing... and wrapped up with "why aren't we asking if it could have been better?" is basically a slam dunk ad idea that they are gifting the Dems yet nobody wants to take the shot.
Posted in the DT thread, but making sure it's here too. Incredible, haunting, devastating read.
