  1. That's a "Fuck you, Houston" path if I've ever seen one.
  2. Katy getting absolutely hammered right now.
  3. This is the crux of everything. Somehow in an election featuring Donald Trump, the other guy has become the focal point. It’s unacceptable.
  4. Not a single human being in this country will be swayed by a pre-recorded interview airing on a Friday night. Honestly baffling that many of the same people trying to downplay the importance of the debate are trying to hype up this nothing burger of an interview.
  5. “Relationships matter”… Like a week ago, Moore was tweeting about how much he liked and respected Sark
  6. I realize I’m a broken record at this point, but “we listened to the voters and it’s clear that they want new blood, that’s why I am stepping aside and endorsing my running mate” is a much better campaign message than “vote for the guy that goes to bed after Wheel of Fortune.” Framing this as a “Democrats listened to the voters, Republicans are sticking with the felon” is I think an underrated scenario.
  7. We’ve met the ask. We are obviously the family choice. We have an offense that will feature him and give him every opportunity to get drafted. We have a coaching staff with skins on the wall for his position and a depth chart that looks to open up after this year. If he goes to Oregon, this is the kind of recruitment that makes a man want to stop following this shit.
  8. You don’t need to convince me of anything. I’m voting for his corpse if it comes to it. You need to convince the country currently giving him historically low approval numbers.
  9. Nobody who watched that debate can credibly conclude that Biden is fit to run the country for four more years. You, me, and most on this board understand that he is obviously immeasurably better than the alternative and will get our vote, but there are millions in this country who have been presented with the same information as us prior to last week and are undecided. Now that the debate has made a pro-Biden argument much harder, the election now relies on us over the next four months getting these same undecided voters to draw a conclusion about Trump that they have not yet concluded in his previous 78 years. Good luck to us!
  10. Frankly this is bullshit, and I’m tired of being gaslit into ignoring what I saw with my own eyes. I will crawl over broken glass to vote for Joe, but it isn’t doomerism to point out that others aren’t gonna.
  11. Charlie Strong would still be our head coach if we let the players do the hiring. This is going to be incredible.
  12. There’s a scenario where Biden delivers a surprise speech on Thursday. One where he boasts about his administrations accomplishments and then announces, under the triumphant backdrop of fireworks, that he is stepping aside from the election race for the good of the country. That he’s heard the cry from the nation for the next generation of leadership and he can think of no one better than his running mate to lead us into the future. A scenario where they turn an embarrassing debate performance into an emphatic passing of the torch. And much like March of 2020, the party would fall in line given the very public anointing. But that would require the Democratic Party to have intelligent leadership, so instead we’ll get Biden and Stephanopolous buried on a holiday weekend.
  13. There’s a discussion to be had about how useful polling data is, but the data is not making the argument that you think it is.
  14. Think of the election as a Mack Brown led Longhorn football team. We start off the season with a few decent performances, nothing flashy. We are ranked fine in the polls, but our fanbase thinks we should be higher. Our rivals claim that we are overrated and haven’t played anyone. Deep down, we know that we have been holding our best plays for the OU game. We know that if we just get a chance to show our stuff on a national stage, everyone else will see what we see in this team, and we will finally get the national respect we deserve. Then the OU game happens. Our play-calling is shit (GDGD). Most of the negative commentary surrounding the team turns out to be correct and we get blown out. Yes, we will always support the team. And yes, our rivals will always talk shit. But the impression made to the general public and poll voters that day will stick with us for the rest of the season, even if they didn’t specifically watch that game. The narrative has been set. Last week’s debate was the OU game.
  15. Yep, to be clear this was no attempt at a humblebrag or anything. It was a shocking realization at how simple it was (don’t check Twitter) to be insulated from all the bad news, and that the majority of Americans live this way. Soon enough, the “bad news” will move from words on the internet to real life application, but by then it will be to late. Democrats gotta figure out a way to break through to those that don’t live on Twitter, to make the SCOTUS takeover as ubiquitous as “HILLARY’S EMAILS” or “HUNTER’S LAPTOP.” We’re careening off the cliff right now, yet the majority of the country has no idea.
  16. Due to a family vacation (and honestly a mental health break) I’ve purposefully removed myself from social media/twitter/etc for the last handful of days. My only real updates on current events have come from periodic visits to this board. The takeaways: 1) the secret to happiness is ignorance 2) it is remarkably easy to check out from all of this and not be in tune to the threats currently facing our country. I don’t know the fix, but yesterday was potentially a pivot point in the course of this country and I guarantee that the majority of Americans have absolutely no idea
  17. That makes it even weirder. Yeah man, I’m sure the crowd understood the reference.
  18. I know aggy never lies, cheats, or steals, but the Yankees haven’t played a home game since June 25.
  19. The simplest answer is usually the correct one when dealing with aggy. They wanted to brag that they hired a sitting head coach as an assistant. Period.
  20. When do you think the country realizes that “lifetime” appointment is technically something the citizenry can control? Obviously not advocating for this, but historically brazen power grabs like this have been met with violence.
  21. This is an embarrassing way to learn that “Smith Orogbo” is his full name and this isn’t a Jaxon Smith-Njigba situation, like I assumed.
  22. I mean, stealing aggy’s entire staff was funny but I’m fairly certain that finding a spot for Tulo on Schloss’s staff was the dream scenario for every Longhorn fan when the rumors started.
  23. Given the theme of their other two announced hired, that P5 head coach is definitely David Pierce.
  24. Objectively hilarious that this photo exists.
