  1. Do we need to start a collection for a banner?
  2. As a privileged white male, it is my prerogative to do whatever I like, and to absolutely feel no guilt or shame about that.
  3. I do not think Kellee's annoyance was sincere. She was in full blown Academy Award mode at tribal.
  4. Pfft...there is absolutely no time to air strategic conversations. They can barely fit in all the heavy handed social commentary and irrelevant island of the Idols time as it is. At least one Island of the Idols visit eventually led to the strongest move of the season so far. Kellee is playing a masterful game, and she has earned my vote for the time being. Janet and Missy have also been strong. More good game play, less Rob and Sandra, and no more social commentary, please.
  5. No harm in dreaming, I suppose.
  6. Who could Arsenal realistically get in the middle of the season to replace Emery? I can't think of an available name that would get me excited. Is there a precedent for manager poaching during the season?
  7. I would just use Google calendar for that.
  8. Nope. Little Debbie Oatmeal Pies and a few snack crackers.
  9. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Have you all given up?
  10. You don't think Touchdown Jesus Christ can hit a curve ball?
  11. No no no, didn't you get the memo? You are supposed to have sympathy for Karishma, and pull for her to do well. <production meeting> "I know, let's focus on the person who has zero skills in challenges, contributes nothing at camp, is not entertaining in any way, but has a personal story that we can spin as some sort of oppression thing, even though it was completely her choice to go along with it." <\production meeting> I can't find anyone I want to even make the merge, much less win. This is one of the worst seasons they have had in a long time ever.
  12. Yep. Having Applebee's is one thing, but the reaction was way over the top. There must have been some sort of monetary motivation involved. And they are already phasing out Island of the Idols in the editing...I'm shocked, I'm stunned.
  13. It seems like the harder they try to come up with some fresh gimmick, the more it falls flat, and they end up giving it minimal inconsequential editing. I think the producers were likely caught off guard when visiting the Island of the Idols turned out to be way more of a disadvantage than a plus. Rob and Sandra won years and years ago when it was a different game. Their tests and advice don't seem at all in touch with the way the game is currently being played, and it even got Vince sent home. Why does the visitor not get to choose the lesson? And as others have said, why on earth do these master manipulators not advise the visitors how to spin a convincing explanation that won't lead them to getting voted out? Being a convincing liar is still a useful skill...put it to use. On the plus side, it was funny as hell watching Noura completely fail. The show has certainly changed over the years but the self-unaware survivor is still comedy gold. Also, that's two contestants in a row who have gone home holding an idol. More of that please. You may be right about the producers not caring who wins. Why should they? There's no need to keep viewers tuned in for another week at that point. That said, if you don't think the producers are manipulating the game to keep entertaining or polarizing personalities in play, then I finally know the surly avatar of this guy.
  14. Maybe it happened off screen, but why wouldn't Vince and Elizabeth compare notes about the Island of the Idols? It's stupid to target someone just because they went to the island and might have an idol unless they considered Vince a legitimate threat to win, which should not have been the case. Fuck the island. It doesn't give you an advantage; it makes you a target. What did Karishma say to the women before the vote?
  15. There is no cost; you can install it for free. I have no idea what happens when you leave the company, as I have only ever installed it with my current one. If that's not available to you, I second the recommendation for Google Docs, especially if you don't want to install anything. If you need something more refined, Libre Office is the best of the open source options, as already mentioned.
  16. And you would give up the knife, pot to collect/boil water, or the fire starter?
  17. I definitely agree with that. As I said, there are plenty of reasons to complain.
  18. There are certainly plenty of reasons to complain about Kelly, but I don't understand this take. You don't think she knows that the team plays best when the best players play? Or are you saying she is responsible for her best players not all being fit to play all the time?
  19. Dierdorf was a buffoon, and Gifford really dropped off as he aged. Michaels carried MNF.
  20. I prefer substance over shtick, so guys like Madden and Berman would be lower on my list. Summerall with Tom Brookshier was tops for me for TV. Always liked Verne Lundquist and Brad Sham doing Cowboys games on radio.
  21. I don't love the logo, but it certainly beats what we had back in my day.
  22. Elaine got a lot of positive editing. We learned last season that editing isn't reliable for picking a winner, but it does likely mean that she will at least make the merge. Clearly we are supposed to root for her. I agree about Elizabeth lying as well as the lameness of teaching her to make fire, unless it will be a common occurrence this season for some reason. There are a lot of survivors that I want to know better...which means they will likely all be eliminated in short order.
  23. That's a shame. Running a 0-3-7 doesn't appear to be a very effective strategy against most opponents.
  24. My memory sucks as much as OU. I only remember 5-6 of those people winning, and some I don't remember at all. I did check out of Survivor fandom for a handful of seasons, so that may have something to do with it.
