  1. I may have to drain the tub, jack it up, and do it that way. I've tried snake repellant, squirrel repellant, I've sprayed bleach under the tub, and I've significantly reduced the field mice by bopping them on the head. I'm leaving my trusty potato rake by the back door in case I get lucky again. That photo was taken in the 12 inch space between the tub and the back wall of the house. My wife was standing at the back porch, unlocking the door and saw him out of the corner of her eye.
  2. He’s been here over a month. There’s a little creek fifty feet from my back door. I suspect there’s a cornucopia of vermin and wee frogs to feast on. Doesn’t seem in a hurry to move on down
  3. This fatty has been living under my hot tub. I saw the last two inches of his tail slipping under a few weeks ago. There has been a persistent funky smell on the patio, so I knew something was in there. My wife saw this a couple of hours ago and pluckily hung around long enough to snap this photo. Any ideas on how to get him out? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I’ll be there the second week of July. We’ve stayed at Isla Grand for a meeting several times over the last decade. It’s a typical beach resort with sketchy internet and subpar water pressure. We are staying in a recently renovated king so maybe it will be a little better. We’ll hit Pier 19, Blackbeard’s, Dirty Al’s, and Ceviche Ceviche. Fly fishing the flats with Captain Tim one day. Lots of painkillers.
  5. Sometimes you would swear you can distinguish the solar panels
  6. A much easier chore, one that gives me great glee every time I successfully accomplish it, is to Spot the Station. Nasa will send you a text or an email when the International Space Station will be visible in your night sky. https://spotthestation.nasa.gov is the link to register for reminders. https://james.darpinian.com/satellites/ is another good source for ISS updates-Darpinian sends out info on all sorts of satellites, and has more potential opportunities listed. NASA only reports the sure fire opportunities.
  7. Maybe something. Maybe nothing. Maybe everything. He could be the wave of the future. I'd be willing to bet, though, that he has Sark's approval in this gambit.
  8. He's got nothing left to prove, and I'm willing to bet he bounced this off of the Texas staff before he pulled the trigger. We'll see if it was a good move.
  9. Peace. Losing your mom is hard-some of us know. De Colores.
  10. My great grandmother had a porcelain doorknob that she would put in the nest. Snek would swallow knob, beat self to death trying to digest it or pass it. Knob would be recovered to fool another snek.
  11. Dude reminds me of Elvis Costello. He's giving me a last look.

  18. Oldest boy and his wife are at the farm prior to leaving for summer jobs. He encountered a three foot Crotalus in the wood pile today. Did not end well for said serpent. Will not tolerate vipersnwithin a hundred feet of house where grandkids cavort.
  19. Ah, spring. Warmer weather, better fishing, bluebonnets in bloom, and the Snek thread warms up.

  21. When my kid was at ASU, maintenance dropped a truckload of ice in to the outdoor pool every day to keep it at a swimmable temperature.
