  1. Looks like bent grass. Those greens always seem to take divots, even repaired ones, really poorly in Texas. Don't sweat it, I've missed worse. Still love the game.

CP is a good case study in "opting for free agency" vs. getting a transfer with a year left on your contract. CP wasn't being used by Chelsea. If he stuck around, it was highly likely he would continue to go unused. More than other sports, being "in form" matters and a player that has played as sparingly as CP has continuing to play sparingly for another year will causes his wages on his new contract to absolutely plummet. He's incentivized to get a new deal ASAP and start playing again to stop that freefall. Similarly, Chelsea want a fee for CP - they paid a lot for him and would like to recoup some of that. The won't recoup any of that if they wait a year and his contract expires. Similarly, CP's wages are quite high especially for the value he brings the club. That's money spent better elsewhere though Chelsea have gobs of money so this may not be as important to them. Both parties want to move on and it's in their best interests to move on. Now... Someone do player loans next.
  3. Bernie is bad ass. Easily the best color commentary on the broadcast. I think her first race was a bit rough - you could tell she wasn't comfortable but that she had a wealth of knowledge and insight. Now she's all around awesome.
  4. I think we just use the On3 composite, does the dirty work of aggregating everyone for you. Would it be possible to have a list rather than tiles where we can sort by the columns (stars, position, name, HS, whatever...). Thanks for putting this together! Makes parsing through all the recruiting mayhem a lot easier.
  5. Cool visual of all the work upcoming at ABIA:

Pre injury, CP10 was one of the bright spots on that Chelsea team (Kante being the other), hence why he was given the 10 jersey in the off-season. Then he got injured against Arsenal in the FA final (I think....) and it's been mediocre at best since. It's fair to say the injuries have fucked his career but that's part of being an athlete. He's also had a good run without injuries now so hopefully he's turned a corner.
  7. Love the Williams look - half of the union jack is a nice touch. Wish AM could have kept the Valvoline in all white like the rest of their sponsor logos.
  8. The only product I've used on pine that turns out ok, pre treat or not, is Rubio monocoat. In general, pine is a bitch. Even if you paint it, you have to primer + sand a few times or you'll see the grain.
  9. The level of hate people have for F1 drivers is awkward as hell.

Is Will Forbes someone I should care about? MLS is way more than 3 years from being a league that can have real appeal to the USMNT outside being a development league or retirement league.
  11. More racing more better! Another entertaining sprint.
  12. Do you promise me that Lewis still wants to race in 5 years? Then Lewis.
  13. I've worn a watch of some sort for quite a while. Started out with the Fossil junk in the college days and eventually graduated to a "true" mechanical watch - a Sinn 857. That started me on a binge of watch buying and selling. Everything from Omegas to Rolexes to more Sinns to Balls, etc... Then the smart watches came along, switched to various flavors of those. Over time, I've tried to remove as many things that attract me to my phone as possible so the smart watch had to go. Now I've come full circle back to a limited edition Sinn 857 and I love it. To wear a mechanical watch, you don't do it just to tell time - you do it because you find the physics of it, the engineering behind it, the aesthetics fascinating. It's certainly not for everyone.
  14. Funny you bring that up... I've been playing in Austin all summer. Not pleasant but I managed. But this round in Dallas.... I nearly quit after 8. Probably drank 7 bottles of water and 2 Gatorades and didn't have to pee until 10pm.
  15. Dallas National is an epic course, one of the best golf experiences of my life. It is incredibly hilly. Feels like you're in Austin, not south Dallas. Great layout, I can see why pros pay to be members out there. For example, Spieth doesn't pay for Trinity Forest, he only goes to TF for lessons and then drives to DNAT to play. Apparently, they kicked Mahan out because he refused to pay. I've never been more perplexed on a green. Things that look like a foot of break have 6+ feet. More than once, I was convinced I was downhill and I was definitely uphill. Forecaddie was invaluable but it's hard to commit to something you just don't see. Didn't take any pictures on course, but their practice bays are awesome.

Musah, CP10, Adams, Aaronson, Dest, Balogun, Weston, Jedi (?) all still to go. That's a lot of our 2 deep on the move.
  17. On my way up to play Dallas National today. I hear it's nice.

Juve need a winger (I believe a right winger) and Lille uses him as a FB. I think this will be good for him and for the USMNT.
  20. Ok this makes logical sense. Tuned down RB was hyperbole (or just wrong, whatevs).
  21. It seems to be fairly well accepted that Red Bull have no interest in having two drivers fighting for the championship and this is Max's team. Given that, Perez's RB surely is a lesser version of Max's. So how much of that 4-4 is because of Perez vs having a tuned down RB? I just have a hard time believing Perez is THAT much worse than Max. Heck, going 4-4 against those cars while in a RB makes Perez look like one of the slowest on the grid. Again, that's hard to believe.
  22. I'm just going to accept I missed some inside joke.

Point conceded on Uruguay. Still, top 4 in Copa doesn't feel like a stretch minus the GGG factor.

I would think top 4 would be expected. We're better than Uruguay, Colombia, and Peru at least on paper. Those 3 plus the US are fighting for #3 and #4 behind Argentina and Brazil. The GGGv2 factor is the great unknown as you call out - hopefully, v2 has some notable upgrades over v1.
