  1. Team could have used your insight in the 2009 championship game..... too soon?
  2. Find a group ride. Even if you have to drive, it's worth it. Sometimes the ride may not be that great, but it can keep you motivated to work in some short solo speed or hill rides during the week, even if they are just in you neighborhood.
  3. There are dozens of people in attendance.
  4. A freaking month is too damn long for round 1. They should be playing these games with the early bowl games. There is no fan momentum and I am almost at the point of not giving a shit even though this layoff probably helps Texas more than Washington. I really hope they have a better schedule for the 12 team playoff.
  5. Just hit 3,500 miles for the year. No great feat on road biking, but considering I just started in March, I will take it. What a year. I started on a hard tail mb with 2.3" tires and wondered why it was so hard to keep up. Went to a Craigslist cheapo road bike after that. Then built my titanium all road bike. I have learned so much and spent so much and still have a huge shopping list. What a sport. Should have gotten onto something cheaper light yachting or polo.
  6. The skier featured in this clip went on to have a successful career.....as an artist
  7. I have a big nose and a short tongue which not only cranes my neck into an awkward position but also makes me feel like I'm drowning in a kelp forest. Not a fan. Fortunately I don't have to be .wink wink.
  8. Aggy is closer to being Alabama in football, North Carolina in basketball, and Texas in baseball than they are to being Stanford. Even thier comic realizations are delusional.
  9. Yeah. Went over there a couple of weeks ago and was disappointed by the lack of content considering the circumstances. Listened in on a couple of podcasts they had linked, and not much worthwhile discussion going on. It wasn't total meat head homerism just no back up or justification for opinions made which were mostly very pro Washington.
  10. Thunderous roars that only golfers could appreciate.
  11. Worked for my dad's construction business from age 12 to 15 along with my twin brother. One summer we pulled nails from a pile of lumber that was as big as a house. Dad would make us go into the crawl spaces of houses with Jack's to level them up due to us being smaller. Worst job was putting wet drywall into a dumpster. When I was 15, I lied about my age and got a job as a busboy at a Mexican food place in the ac. I was so happy. All the other hs kids bitched about the work but I had a super good attitude for some reason. Thanks dad. RIP
  12. First the stole the land, then they stole the Sonics and renamed them the Thunder and thought nobody would notice.
  13. It was also interesting to compare the two games they played against each other. Looking at the box score, one would have thought Oregon dominated the first game. Oregon chewed up a lot of time and yds on a couple of drives where they had chip shot fgs but instead went for it on 4th down and failed. Take the points. This game will be scored in the upper 20s or low 30s by each team and the Victor will prevail by 3 or 4 pts.
  14. This. Also, when I was in school (mid to late 80s), it seemed like all the olds wanted to make Arkansas a huge thing and it just wasn't. And OU was huge up to 1986 but then we were both shitty for a few years while Gadere was beating them. No. As much as I hate to say it, aggy was it back then. We won just once from 1984 to 1995. Terrible time to be an undergrad. Most of ou can't even imagine this world.
  15. Looks like we have some Rice grads participating.
  16. Good HS bands can be very good and entertaining. Agree with the scope creep. Back in the 80's hs bands were kind of required to have at least three different shows to get through the season and not have the administration call bull shit, not to mention homecoming etc. (Fyi hs band guy and Longhorn band guy). Well, by the time my oldest started hs band in 2003 it had become the ridiculous phantasmagoric production you see today. Not only that, back in the day the directors would write the show, and that was before there was any software for it etc. Now, the parents have to fork over hundreds of dollars in "membership" fees in order to have a show commissioned and consultants for color guard and percussion just for their kids to be on band. I had many a discussion with the band director over the flaws in their business model, but he wouldn't have it. I had season tickets for years with my friends from LHB and I can't think of a single halftime show that we watched. Aggy sucks.
  17. It's worse than you think. Even Arky, South Carolina, and Mizzou have won division titles leaving aggy and Vandy.
  18. American Pie and Barney theme for the win.
