  1. Made it to J Bar M yesterday. Sorry, no pics Wife got the Turkey, I went with the brisket. Brisket was top notch.....even the "lean" was moist. I'd put it up agains t any of the other top places in town. Sides were ok..Either the Mac n cheese or the creamed corn were probably the best out of the 4 we had (Mac, Potato salad, creamed corn and red cabbage slaw) Place is gigantic. 2 full bars...one inside and one outside. Huge Patio, stage for live music, kinda of a kids area. I think it's too big, and I hope it's not his downfall I'll be back to try the other offerings
  2. Can we get a petition to get @RockyMountainHighHorn free tix and to more home games?
  3. Just a note...the steak sandwich at Pastis is worth the $32 price tag.
  4. I assume it's been mentioned, but the lack of hustle on this team is astounding, especially when you're getting your ass kicked up and down the court. How many times did a single Tech player squeeze through 3-4 Texas players for an offensive rebound? The only reason it was close is because Tech turned the ball over as much as Texas did. This team is a bad to real bad offensive team. And it will continue to be.
  5. When the weather turned "cold" in Houston last week, we went on a little bit of a soup kick too. If you want the recipes, I can dig them up an post.. Started with a White Chili- Leftover chicken, onion & garlic, stock, cannelini beans, cream cheese, corn, lime, cilantro. Topped with cheddar, avocado slices and tortilla chips. Also did a tomato soup--can of crushed tomato, cannelini beans-pureed, lots of sauteed garlic, stock. Served with a splash of cream and grilled cheese sandwiches Finally did a chicken noodle. Stock simmered for about 4-5 hours. This was new to me, but after straining ..took the veggies (carrots, onion, celery) and pureed them and added back to the stock. It made for a thicker, heartier "soup".
  6. Crawfish and Noodles( near chinatown) is good. Last time there, the service sucked and took forever to get seated. They were short staffed just after the pandemic, so things have probably smoothed out. If you don't want to go that far, there is an LA Crawfish at Richmond and Wesleyan. Don't sleep on the Lemon Pepper wings. Kau Ba in Montrose is a little more elevated than the other crawfish places, but the chef specializes in Viet-cajun food and it's a great place. She's been on some cooking shows (Somebody Feed Phil and Ugly Delicious) If you want Louisiana type crawfish, Boil House in the Heights is a friend's place and the best bugs in town (IMO). They only have crawfish/Shrimp and your typical add-ins. The Boot in the Heights is good for crawfish as well as poboys and all things in between. Lots of outdoor seating. Parking is kind of a bitch though.
  7. Watched the first 2 eps last night. Will continue watching. Lots of anxiety inducing moments..
  8. SIAP- Why the fuck are the side/baseline seemingly the "right" orange and the lane is not? Looks like fucking shit.
  9. I would skip Kemah, but if you're down there and don't want to eat at those ridiculous chains, go to Pier 6 in San Leon. Truth, Pit Room, JBarM and Pinkerton's are all in the area Brothers Taco's on the Eastside of downtown. La Mexicana in Montrose is good for breakfast Laredo Taqueria is also solid. The area just on the other side of 59 from the Marquis has a ton of places...Truck Yard, Rodeo Goat, 8th Wonder, Vinny's Pizza. Tiny Champions in that area is really good too. I didn't know people still went to Kim Son. There are a million better places. Edit--Rockets tix should be cheap AF.
  10. Party Bert Auburn- Soph next year Gabriel Lozano- Jr Tr from Tech Will Stone- Incoming Fr.
  11. ESP+?? Why wouldn't this game be on regular TV? Signed, A Poor
  12. He was good at times He was bad at times His WR's dropped a shitload of passes He missed a shitload of easy throws. One thing was constant though...his Defense sucked shit through a straw all season. I wish him well, but his time here was done.
  13. Seems like he might excel at being the one doing the hitting....amiright?
  14. Haven't you noticed in this thread....every portal entry is coming here.....until they don't.
  15. Vince Lombardi wouldn't have won 5 games with that roster.
  16. I guess, according to the thread title, we're taking in someone else's trash?
  17. Add Stanton's City Bites to your Houston list.. And Pappas burger is solid. Miller's Cafe in the downtown tunnels has a good one. I miss Charlie's Old Fashioned Hambergers I was thinking about Holiday House while readingthe thred yesterday. That was a good old school burger.
  18. If the Texans job becomes available, nobody in their right mind would take that job. Ownership and management are fucking terrible and the roster is almost completely devoid of talent. You probably want to be the guy after the next guy
  19. I made the same comment to my wife...4 episodes and they haven't gone 150 miles...
  20. Brazos runs from up there (between FW and Abilene) down to the Gulf.
