  1. It was there in the mid-late 90's and around for longer than a few months. Many a Hand Grenade were consumed. We even bought a pack of Hand grenade mix and turned our home ozarka machine into a dispenser 🤣
  2. Heading out to Spring for something and wanted to stop by Corkscrew. I won't get out there until 12:45/1:00pm...are they going to be out of a bunch of shit by that time?
  3. Looks like I'm a few years behind (and it was recently added to Netflix) but I just started Your Honor with Brian Cranston. Great cast and I'm a sucker for crime dramas
  4. Just sales shenanigans. We would leave notes for one of the reps to return the call of a prospect Pete Zahut- then the # of a local pizza hut We had a girl call the Houston Zoo asking to "speak with Mr. Lyon"
  5. Hopefully Helobius
  6. The brave fans, donning their maroon Magellan fishing shirts for what could be the last time as they head to the front lines to take on their orange nemesis. It's a fierce firefight through the concourse as both opponents advance toward the coveted "foot long" hotdog stand. It will be a battle of wills. "Give me army full of West Pointers, and I will win a battle. Give me a handful of Aggies, and I will win a war."
  7. Imagine being on summer vacation (I assume) and dressing like you're going to a fucking tailgate. WTF
  8. Seeing "Davis" reminded me when we fleeced the Orioles for Pete Harnisch, Curt Schilling and Steve Finley for Glenn Davis. 😆

Longtime (41 years) Mandola place Damian's in midtown is closing in August.
  10. This post got me thinking... Is this...or what is the biggest/longest necro-bump in site history? Since I'm just seeing this thread, lets get it going again.. Anything black and white or old classics other than Wizard of Oz, Freaks, or It's a Wonderful Life. I've never seen Jurassic Park or 2001
  11. Krempin ain't easy. 255 lbs is something. This guy the 4* version of Max Merrill?
  12. www.cbssips.com am i right?
  13. He put pins in my hip in 5th grade. Great guy. Nice. Maybe that's his thing? I've got 2 small plates and 6 or so screws in the ol ankle Speaking of former QB's..Marty Akins' son was a fraternity brother of mine. Had a nice party out at his house in Horseshoe Bay
  14. He did my ankle surgery in 93/94 somewhere in there.. When I told my parents(both UT grads and football fans) who the Dr. was, they were both like "The QB?"
  15. I really don't know what that team in the field was even doing..
  16. We're still without power in Montrose. We seem to be in a weird little pocket as the only couple of blocks in the area without power. Slept on couch downstairs last night as upstairs was considerably warmer. This blows.
  17. That was intense. Got the weather alert about 6:15, no real time to do anything. Lost power around 7. We're in Montrose and was able to go to HEB to pick up something to eat, wine, beer and ice...so weird the blocks immediately west of us all had power...we're still in the dark. Luckily it wasn't blazing hot last night and could sleep with the windows open. Some of the videos I've seen of downtown are crazy. Wells Fargo building was shredded by what looked like a tornado
  18. Have you looked into J. Hilburn? They come to you and measure etc and you get to pick your fabric/style/collar/buttons etc.. Some cities have actual stores, but I don't think Austin is one of them. We have a couple here in Houston.
  19. It was a sad state of affairs back in the day, but Goode Co. was better than anything else in town. I grew up on the west side of town and we would occasionally make it out to Dozier;s in Fulshear, but Goode Co was a few notches above the normal spots like Demeris or fucking Luther's Glad times have changed for all cities. That Austin list is sad too.
  20. Imagine how they would be if your 3rd baseman could get the ball out of the infield. He's killing this team hitting in the middle of the lineup. Remember in little league when there were players that were considered "automatic outs"? That's Bregman and he should be hitting 9th until he figures it out.
  21. Jesus Christ. Sadly I assumed the bolded above. Anyone that would shoot and kill someone over a fucking McDonald's refund needs to be removed from the planet.
  22. I guess there is something in the air... Just received/signed an offer as well! Similar to @DToro I voluntarily left a long time job with a great company in Jan 2021 to explore other opportunities, unaware of just how awful the job search was going to be. I naively thought that someone with 20 years experience in sales/account management would be a cake walk finding a new role. Couldn't even get a sniff. Over the last 3 years, I've worked 3 contract jobs in 3 different industries, none of which I wanted to be in or have the contract extended. It was brutal. My confidence was shot, my marriage was on the ropes. Getting your teeth kicked in on the reg by computer programs/algorithms or ignored by 23 year old HR folks or recruiters takes it's toll. My only advice and to be fair I didn't do this as much as I should have....use your friends. Use your connections and your friends connections. I didn't do it as much as I could've out of embarrassment/shame. I wanted to do it "on my own". What a fucking idiot I was. That being said, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Stay the course. It's going to happen. I can finally breathe.
