  1. I'll just say this...there was not a lot of broken hearts in the UTEP fan base when Beard came calling for Terry.
  2. Only on the job a few days and already filling up his Twitter/X timeline with players accepting offers. Just happy to finally have someone young and not another retread looking for his final retirement package. ⛏️⛏️
  3. I introduced my 75 year old mom to The Bear, by watching Fishes after Thanksgiving dinner. I am an only child, so that family chaos is totally foreign. She was traumatized and said she had to watch Hallmark Christmas movies the rest of the night. Oops
  4. Coach Knight shows his soft side during this interview. Growing up a Miner fan in the 80's, Coach Knight was our second favorite coach because of his friendship with Coach Haskins and the stories you would hear. The picture was taken pregame in El Paso when they both came out dressed as each other.
  5. Gone 3 years ago today.
  6. For old school, one more vote for L&J, and I'll add Kiki's. For something modern, ELEMI. James Beard semifinalist. Very cool place and food was outstanding. Hilton Garden Inn University is at the UTEP front gate and less than 5 minute walk to the Arena. Nothing fancy, (it's a Garden Inn) but location is great for Haskins Center. Hotel Indigo and Stanton House are cool for downtown. The Paso Del Norte was taken over by Marriott and had a big renovation, same for The Plaza but different owner. You can check out ELEMI on Hulu's Taste of the Nation with Padma.
  7. UTEP touchdown on first possession 7-0
  8. I think you meant to say "the greatest band in the world"
  9. Stevie Nicks this weekend in Houston. Watching a few recent YouTube videos, she seems to still have a decent voice. I swear Waddy Wachtel looks the same as he did in the 70's-80's.
  10. Happen to catch Midland last week, while we were on vacation in Palm Springs. Really great show. Today, the wife surprises me with tickets for Eric Church at COTA and Midland is on the bill.
  11. Leaving Texas heat for the extra high heat of Palm Springs. Should be 116 when we land.
  12. Headed to PS in a few weeks. Yes July is crazy (but it's a dry heat 😎). Any new updates/recommendations for 2023?
  13. Y'all don't know the genius of Matty Matheson? His cookbooks are great.
  14. Timmy looking like the cool artisan chef just posing with customers. I can't wait to watch another banner go up.
  15. Brian goes meta on one of my favorite live albums.
  16. The Thomas Guide with lots of Post-it notes as bookmarks was my best friend when I moved to Orange County in 1998.
  17. Sorry to derail the movie talk. I like https://www.stadiumgoods.com/en-us/ They are straight retail and also a 3rd party reseller. The store in Chicago was just like stepping into a episode of Sneaker Shopping on YouTube. For less popular releases, try the "make a offer" on Goat. Just for fun, I put in a offer on some Gore-Tex Jordan 1's at $50 below the last selling price and someone took it. Still had the tags attached and authenticated.
  18. Rocket tears are so salty, perfect for my breakfast tacos this morning.
  19. The Zane Lowe interview on Apple Music and YouTube is a nice comparison piece. It digs deeper on the music side and Bono admits the SOS album is a bit of a "vanity project" to see where our song stand with others in history.
  20. Yes. She is currently in a acute therapy facility, but her time there is almost up even though she is still pretty much 100% assist. She will occasionally mention something about going home, but it looks like she still needs 24 care.
  21. Is this the place to talk about being at the age for having to make crappy decisions for my mother? Mom had a stroke last month and it hurts/sucks having to make these life altering choices.
  22. U2 have been my favorite band for the past 35+ years. I firmly believe that live is where U2 music lives. 7 times out of 10, I'll listen to a bootleg concert before I grab a proper album. This doc is great and highly recommended.
  23. Well, I rejoined the husband club this month. Even though wife #2 (no pics) is starting a PhD in Nursing, living together has shown I'll be contributing soon.
