  1. Southampton were in talks to sign Gapko and Ramos both this summer. https://www.the-sun.com/sport/6861180/southampton-transfer-ramos-gakpo-world-cup/ ‘Spare a thought for Southampton’ – Fans all say same thing as it emerges Saints tried to sign Gakpo and Ramos in summer
  2. For those with a passing interested in the Dunedin Sound / Flying Nun / New Zealand music, drummer Hamish Kilgour passed away this week. So been listening to a lot of the Clean. My favorite of theirs https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/dec/07/an-understated-power-hamish-kilgour-of-the-clean-remembered-as-a-restless-innovator
  3. I think some of you are talking about shit you knowing nothing about. I don't have any idea what the family dynamic truly is. Teen depression/suicide occur within good, loving families. To assume Ted, the father, is entirely the problem/issue is wildly presumptuous. I have no love for Ted, but I can feel empathy for what he and his family are going through. It being discussed publicly is probably not helpful, but I am not naïve to the realities.
  4. i dislike that this is even being reported on. awful. truly awful. i hope she can find the help she needs.
  5. https://www.yahoo.com/news/sen-john-kennedy-urges-georgia-201000780.html Sen. John Kennedy Urges Georgia to Pick Herschel Walker Instead of 'High IQ' People Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) was a part of Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker’s final campaign push on Sunday afternoon, two days before the runoff vote between him and sitting Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock (D). While Walker himself had a number of odd things to say over the weekend, it looks like fake folksy Kennedy was intent on adding his voice to the bizarre chorus. Kennedy, while wearing a sticker reading “RUN HERSCHEL RUN,” railed against “these high IQ stupid people” running around Congress at a campaign stop in Loganville, Georgia, on Sunday afternoon. “These high IQ stupid people have an answer for everything. You know why? Because they think they’re smarter and more virtuous than the American people,” he said. Did that make no sense to you? Never fear, Kennedy gave rallygoers a list of how to identify this population: “These woke high IQ stupid people are easy to recognize. They hate George Washington. They hate Thomas Jefferson,” he said. “They hate Dr. Suess, and they hate Mr. Potato Head.” To that end, the spud haters also, apparently, are going about their days carrying plastic bags full of hearty greens. “These high IQ stupid people walk around with ziplock bags of kale that they can eat to give them energy,” said Kennedy, who is notably an Oxford-educated lawyer pretending to be a regular man of the people. “If you want to eat kale, that’s up to you. I don’t eat kale. You know why? Kale tastes to me like I’d rather be fat.” Kennedy also insisted Walker is both a “gentleman and a gentle man,” which is an offensively stupid thing to say about someone who has been repeatedly accused by former partners of physical abuse. Former President Barack Obama visited Georgia last week to stump for Sen. Raphael Warnock, comparing Walker to a 7-year-old (one of the nicer options, in my opinion). Kennedy, for his part, was hurt by this: “I understand that President Obama just came to Georgia... He came to make fun of my friend Herschel Walker.” After Kennedy mentioned Obama, a crowd member clearly shouted, “I still want to see his birth certificate!” But the senator should feel at home among racists: In October, he released a cartoonishy offensive campaign ad telling people who “hate cops” to “call a crackhead” next time they need help. (“Crackhead” is the racist and derogatory phrase popularized during the federal government’s war on drugs to vilify Black people arrested and charged with using crack cocaine.) And Kennedy’s anti-Obama rhetoric didn’t stop there, instead offering the crowd a demented hypothetical: “President Obama wouldn’t do this, but if he told many members of the media to go join the Taliban, they’d say, Where’s the line?’” (I assure you, as a member of the media, we would not say that.) Stay strong out there, Georgians. It’s going to be a long final 24 hours of this campaign.
  6. i really liked how they did the scene were Ethan was later imagining what was going on in the room with Harper and Cameron. i not all in on this con being run by the Italians - seems pretty convoluted with way too many moving parts to ever really work in reality. Am i only the one thinking that Lucia is being sincere with Albie? She said some pretty nice things to him in Italian on the beach that, you know, he wouldnt have understood. no reason for her to say those things if she was running some scam on him.
  7. would it? https://texags.com/forums/5/topics/3347043 I have a question. Why do other schools hat[sic] us so?
  8. So there has been 5 seconds of actual football action (2 plays) in the last 15 minutes.
  9. that was beautiful... that being said... how weird is it to see cursive these days?
  10. i am with you on that - better looking.
  11. The first LCD Soundsystem song in 5 years. my god, that bass!!!
  12. i feel like Lucia has some redeeming qualities.
  13. what's included in basics plan?
  14. how was the trip? We did this recently. Guadalupe Mountains NP is underrated IMO. Enjoyed it, but the weather was perfect. Wouldn't want to do it in the summer. The scope of Carlsbad Cavern was unreal. Carlsbad, NM : Restaurant options pretty uninspiring. Hotels options: basic, generic.
  15. Uruguay, Mexico, and Tunisia are the only teams without a goal so far after 2 matches played by all 32.
  16. Hope Despair oh. Wow. Hope! ugh..hello, Despair Hope Again!
  17. Both Leeds and Southampton (who also supposedly had agreed to PSV's price as well this summer) will live with the "what if" - but Gakpo didn't want to leave for PSV for either club. that ship has sailed.. his price is now no longer something Leeds (or Southampton) can afford.
  18. for those of us old enough to remember this one
  19. Not out of the pocket AND did not make it to the line of scrimmage. 2 missed infractions on one play. Good job Big 12.
  20. My main man Salisu got jobbed there. As a defender you wonder what can you do. Just not defend? intersstingly there are 8 CBs in the World Cup that have played for little ole Southampton. Salisu, Bella-Kotcha, Yoshida, Caceres, Van Dijk, Lovren, Alderwiereld, Bednarek.
  21. Do we do that anymore? Have an expectation that we will walk out? was travelling this holiday and my family and I walked into a restaurant in New Mexico and instead of anticipating a great meal, my first thought after looking at the layout, lack of windows, and only one apparent exit was : “this is a shooting gallery” this is our country. This is who we are. We expect something awful could happen.
  22. It never ends. This is who we are. A hateful, violent, armed country.
  23. wouldn't an election that is decided by a mere 550 votes (where 327,000 people voted) trigger a recount? I am not saying one should be a dick about it. If you lose, you lose. But curious.
  24. always curious.. sincere question.. do you think your criticism would be different if you consumed the show for an hour a week for 10 weeks - once a year over a 3 year period?
