  1. Gotta love (actually not) how Trump is using this case to earn millions and he doesn't share a dime with any of them. Outside of a few people who remain useful to Trump, he leaves carnage in his close sphere. So many arrests, lawyer fees and ultimately convictions. I assume bankruptcy or diminished financial prospects are there as well.
  2. While I can't stand her face, I wish the courtroom video had been zoomed in on Powell when she was agreeing that the facts proved she broke the law and she accepted it.
  3. I'm specifically thinking of the meeting that included Powell, Trump, Guiliani and the Overstock.com CEO, who is not an attorney nor a govt employee. I would think that bringing in a random dude into a meeting with the President has to remove all semblance of privilege.
  4. My dyslexia kept reading it as Strickland as well. Never met a Stickland.
  5. the wheels of justice turn too slow. We've all known her and her crimes for 3 years now.
  6. Guess Jordan is out now or will be later on today. I do agree with Chip Roy that hell will break loose if the GOP has to recruit Dems to appoint McHenry or actually vote in an actual Speaker. The GOP House majority will effectively cease to exist. We all know that their majority was a loose affiliation at best but this hypothetical will splinter it even more.
  7. I would love to her testify in detail about some of the famous Oval Office meetings. The best part is that there were non-lawyers in the room, so there is ZERO client-attorney privilege that can be asserted. I assume that if she met or spoke with Trump alone, even her plea deal can remove Trump's right to attorney-client privilege if he can successfully argue that she was his attorney. It's his right, not hers.
  8. This quote doesn’t make it sound like Sam Neill is going anywhere soon.
  9. Assuming she's gets better, Retton should spend her future advocating for people who cannot afford health care and are burdened with large medical bills.
  10. There's a whole universe of famous people that most people have never heard of. Like this guy. They all name drop each other leading to more confusion. They also always own people in interviews. I guess they get to judge that for themselves. For some reason I was watching a Tim Pool interview. He is one of these people. He was spewing names of people left and right like anyone should know who they were. I knew none of them. Unfortunately I do know who Tim Pool is, and that is a source of shame for me.
  11. Some in the GOP definitely want some Dems to vote for whomever the GOP nominates. McCarthy, Scalise or Jordan. That attitude is why can't the Dems save the Republicans from themselves? If a handful in the GOP voted with the Dems to either give the Speaker to Jefferies or even a GOP "moderate", the GOP would explode in that room. It wouldn't shock me if McHenry found a method to stop that vote from completing.
  12. How was the mini-series from 2020? I never saw it but the source material could make a great series.
  13. I don't think that today's GOP would do it, but Boehner or Paul Ryan could be a decent (from conservative's POV), short term Speaker. (I'll add for the few that don't know, being a member of the House isn't a prerequisite to be Speaker.) If they elected a non-House member, then the Speaker wouldn't have a vote. Now whether those guys would want to deal with Gaetz or Jordan, I would have to guess no.
  14. If the anti-Jordan side has grown, I'm disappointed that we won't see any humiliating result for Jordan today. He's running out of committee chairs to give away without pissing off the people he's already promised. "The assistant to the chair is an honorable position and in line to be speaker next. I promise."
  15. I don’t see why the Dems would agree to this unless dems are willing to accept McHenry and this would avoid them having to vote for him. I’m assuming it would be McHenry but perhaps I’m wrong.
  16. They actually ran fairly decent against Stanford especially with a negative 45 yards due to sacks. Take out the sacks and they averaged ~5 yards per carry. Two horrible CU 4th down turnovers gave Stanford short fields. Punts would have forced Stanford to eat up more time scoring. Teams average 5-7 possessions per half. With a 29-0 halftime lead, its doesn’t take much to win. Obviously it’s not impossible to lose but Deion screwed up as coach. It wasn’t about his players quitting or him missing a few extra players. i think Deion mainly wanted a 60-0 victory. He reminds me of me at the craps table trying to get back after I was up big.
  17. More than few Never Jordans fell to the pressure over the weekend so it wouldn't shock me if Jordan received an unanimous win tomorrow.
  18. I have no idea how accuracy of those scenes, but it was crazy that the future American heroes were waddling down hospitals corridors about to crap themselves only wearing a hospital gown.
  19. what are the odds that they hold another vote tonight? I don't see it happening unless Jordan gets firm commitments that the Nos are 5 or less. Then he can count on that many of the Nos are cowards and don't want to be in a group of 3 that are keeping Jordan from being Speaker. I assume that if Jordan can't get those commitments, they won't call another vote just to humiliate him more.
  20. I always like to read into what is not being said/written. Retton's daughter posted that her mother didn't have health insurance along with a Go Fund Me (or whatever) link. She never said that her mother didn't have the financial ability to cover the bills. And while perhaps that last bit could be assumed, it doesn't mean we know the actual situation.
  21. This is the most likely scenario. Not today, not tomorrow but eventually enough Republicans will ask for McCarthy to come back. He will demand something like the low bar to vacate the Speaker. Of course that doesn't get him elected. I'm still unsure what would convince the Gaetz crew to go with McCarthy and I don't see Dems going with McCarthy without some big giveaways.
  22. Makes no sense that McCarthy only had 5 votes to kick him out but they’re going with Jordan with 20 votes against.
  23. Did Fox switch over to a discussion about Benghazi? Or Hunter Biden?
