  1. was it... Cheney? Still begs the question of whether Ralph should have foreseen the intent and ability to start the Iraq and Afghanistan wars before 911 even happened. Anyway, don't blame me, Bush was always going to handily win Texas obv.
  2. We should hold him accountable for being able to predict the Cheney neo-con takeover of the Bush presidency and its ensuing disaster?
  3. except that those doctors did a whole lot more than provide gender-affirming care, which would have been a very small part of their work
  4. I met Michael Rooker at a comic-con a few years ago, he was doing meet and greet/ signing photos for his Guardians of the Galaxy role (Yondu). I told him he was a lot better looking than the real Henry Lee Lucas. I don't think he was expecting that lol
  5. If he's willing to do that, he might as well do this, it'd probably get more votes --
  6. *derp* also can't read push/pull signs. Sorry, lack of coffee today
  7. wait, there are two whites -- what is that, super white and a little beige?
  8. I know I shouldn't be surprised, but I admit it kind of blows my mind that any tattoo artists(?) would still be giving tattoos like that. Of course, some are just as racist as their customers, I imagine...
  9. A lady on Amber Briggle's Facebook page (she is the preeminent citizen working against this stuff imo, on behalf of her trans son) said "absolutely 100% true. That’s where we went. We found out Monday. We loved our doctor at Dells. She was a precious soul. We are heart-broken." obviously not a news source, but anyway I'm not totally convinced that this would be a huge immediate story, unfortunately.
  10. I much prefer Patrick Bateman's platform: Well, we have to end apartheid for one. And slow down the nuclear arms race, stop terrorism and world hunger. We have to provide food and shelter for the homeless, and oppose racial discrimination and promote civil rights, while also promoting equal rights for women. We have to encourage a return to traditional moral values. Most importantly, we have to promote general social concern, and less materialism in young people.
  11. Pardon from Abbott incoming...
  12. For some reason, I thought ol' Ralph had died a while ago. I voted for him in Bush/Gore 2000 since I knew my vote in Texas wouldn't count anyway. I went to a rally in Austin for him where Patti Smith and Jackson Browne played, at the Tony Burger auditorium. It was awesome, in this old school gym, Patti looking homeless but in fine form while Ralph danced like the very whitest of old white guys. Fond memories of that weird event.
  13. I'm curious to see what kind of performer Andrew Eldritch will be, and whether we'll even be able to see much of him through the smoke lol
  14. yeah, my kid's school of over 1,000 students was half empty yesterday due to a threat circulating that the school deemed "non-credible." How should parents react to that? What do we do to reduce the chance of such events? How 'bout nothing and just pray it doesn't happen again, to our own kids. Fucking unacceptable.
  15. yes there was a poll recently saying that a majority of the population at large agrees with the R's anti-trans laws. Which contrasts with what the majority feels on pretty much every other R crusade. Propaganda regarding people most are unfamiliar with is extremely effective.
  16. At the first board meeting in January with Witt as superintendent, the board voted to adopt the American Birthright social studies curriculum standard. No social studies teachers had been consulted prior to the vote, according to three current employees and an administrator who asked to speak anonymously to protect their employment. American Birthright materials emphasize patriotism, argue that the federal government should have no authority over public schools and say teachers should not encourage civic engagement, such as registering to vote or petitioning local lawmakers on issues students care about. “It is terribly important to be a disengaged citizen, and indeed, a disengaged student,” said David Randall, research director at the National Association of Scholars, a conservative organization that created the standards last year. Am I reading this wrong, or is this a right-wing demagogue flat-out saying that an engaged student body and citizenry is bad??! The fuck https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/woodland-park-colorado-school-board-conservatives-rcna83311
  17. Ana loves to play like he's smarter than everyone else with put-downs and sarcasm but it's always substance-free "asking questions." Transparently ego-driven need to "win" an argument. And for some reason, he has a hard-on for treatment of trans kids above everything else now that he lost on Trump-Russia
  18. Here we go again. Ana is really really het up over the private medical decisions of families but only on this issue for some reason
  19. Being on the Supreme Court is not worth the grief or the pay. But being the selfless, humble public servant he is, he's gonna keep sacrificing for the rest of our sakes. And now we're crucifying him just like Jesus. We should all be ashamed.
  20. yeah great, now we can all look forward to enjoying President Elmo
  21. I was confused because the bill I saw allowed the SOS to hold a new election in a county of 1 million or more with "good cause" blah blah, but I see the "engrossed" version now says 2.7 million. LOL so transparent with their targeting
  22. What a joke that Roberts gives a single, solitary fuck about the Court's "legacy."
  23. When my son was in 1st grade and the teacher told the students that Martin Luther King Jr. got assassinated, one of the few African-American students burst into tears. But do go on, DEI/CRT snowflakes, about how white kids feel so fucking bad from learning the facts about our history.
