  1. It's the same team, down to Vassell missing too many games and it's pushing us right into lottery territory once again. I've already lost my steam to watch this team play such terrible basketball, but I'll be at the game on Wednesday. Wish Wemby had some vets to learn from, I think PATFO may have overlooked that part. I can understand their "wait and see" approach to coaching him, but it would help if he had someone to model himself and his shot selection, decision-making, etc. off of while on the court. Instead everybody's just doing young dumb things together. It's stupid. I would need some stats to back up my hunch, but I also wonder what Sochan's ceiling as a PG really is. In the handful of games I've watched, he doesn't seem like he can really defend point guards, he's not quick enough. Maybe I'm off though. The decision making and distributing improvements would be welcome, but he ain't getting much faster and quicker at this point, that can't be coached.
  2. Really enjoyed last night's episode.
  3. Excited for my Houston Lamar Redsk.... Texans. Always fly under the radar because you can't figure out how seriously to take them due to HISD, but they seem prepped to have a chance at the 4th round. Would like to see the pipeline flow again, they got a 4-star OT in 2025.
  4. I have no idea if this is truth or not, but that plate sure looks like a chicken fried (steak? chicken?) that I can get at any diner or southern restaurant in town.... Where's the German? Also this post is on topic because Maalik can't run but I think we win this week even if he does play, and if Ewers is healthy then let's go win the fucking Big 12.
  5. I read about it this morning, but didn't even realize that's what happened there. I was too busy yelling "a fucking nother one?!?" when they came down with the offensive rebound. Disappointing.
  6. Got to head to Wemby's House yesterday. Aside from the stupid 2nd half meltdown, it was a blast. He really is even more impressive in person. He's a black hole on defense, but unfortunately Toronto hounded him enough it the 2nd half to keep him quiet. I guess we really needed Vassell to take the pressure off of Toronto's anti-wemby defense systems. Collins going 1-6 from 3PT really pissed me off again. He just won't stop shooting them. Keldon looked good for most of the game, I liked his play. Jones and Sochan were absolutely torched by Schroeder. I thought bringing Jones in would slow him down as a faster defender..... it didn't help. I was embarrassed watching them get torched like that, he's a plus player but he's not an all star level dude. Wtf. Barnes... well they let him shoot open 3s, what are you gonna do (other than defend them maybe?).
  7. I'm wondering if the market is changing. Vassell just extended, Collins just extended. Sochan and Johnson seem happy. It's a team of young guys of value, that generally seem to enjoy the process..... in San Antonio. It feels different from the 2010s.
  8. Booker talking all that shit with 6 minutes left. I knew the most demoralizing thing would be Wemby coming in and taking over. And I can't believe a 19 year old fucking kid did it. He's insane and already has ice in his veins. 3 minutes left and both Booker and KD blinked, and it was done before they could react.
  9. Maybe we will win by 12
  10. Anatomy of a Fall. French film I hadn't heard anything about other than seeing it on the Alamo Drafthouse website. A bit of a murder mystery/courtroom drama that toes the line to thriller. Really liked it. At times the courtroom scenes felt like a 90s trial movie throwback, and overall enjoyed watching the story unfold.
  11. Expecting the Suns to be salty tonight, but I'd be very pleased if we could keep this one within 12 points all the way. Even if we lose. Clean it up, tighten it up.
  12. Before last year, when they brought in FInaly, I never thought I'd like him as much as I do, but he sure feels like the soul of this team now. Especially with a rough year on offense, he just works, and finds a way (when other, much more expensive options that won't be named but are definitely from Argentina, can't).
  13. Uranium kicking ass too.
  14. I guess you haven't seen a heavyweight UFC fight in a while either. Take a look at some of their contenders like Derrick Lewis and Tai Tuivasa and report back. The depth of the division just isn't there...... but also it's the most barbaric and basic division of them all, because hard punch to head beat muscle body many time.
  15. It's not even the typical type of off night that happens to NBA teams where it's just a tough shooting night, they're failing at the basics of the game right now. Unforced turnovers. Can't even inbound.
  16. at least somebody looks confident
  17. Terrible. 3 (or 4?) turnovers directly to points. And they're just lazy turnovers.
  18. ..... "Nambre shutup, GO SPURS GO!!"
  19. That was a bit rough for him last night. We just extended his contract a few days ago, so good luck with that, but he did look bad in spots. Throwing up 3s that didn't look confident at all, we were outrebounded when it counted most, and he got frustrated somewhere in the 3rd where you could tell he was losing his cool. He'll have to settle back down into his role as the 4th or 5th option.
  20. I only watched the first half and I counted 3 instances where Pop would've called a timeout to bitch at D'Angelo Russell. 2 iso's that didn't look like part of the offense at all, and a 3-pointer off a fast break without waiting for a single teammate to get back for a rebound (missed). I wouldn't want that for a starting PG, he's a black hole.
  21. I'm willing to bet whoever pulled the trigger on an offer to Maalik from UT, Michigan, Alabama, Ohio St., Oregon, had a scouting projection that DIDN'T read: "this kid has no tools, no mechanics, and is a COMPLETE PROJECT but I have a hunch.... we should offer yesterday." I get your sentiment, but to be a P5 offer you literally have to be more than a "complete project," so this was a weird way to say he wasn't polished at 17.
  22. They weren't dumping as much as stockpiling, and I'm high on Vassell and Sochan. Keldon Johnson will play a huge part too (but I agree with some that he may be a biiit more expendable) and I'm excited to see how much they all grow together. Zach Collins still has potential for improvement too, and I like him at the 5. He'll be playing to cement himself as the long-term option after this year. The more I watch Wemby, the more I wonder if we'll still be pining for a veteran scoring option after the all-star break this year. He might be the go-to scoring option to close out games before we can even sign or entertain another #1 scoring option. Vassell might get there as well, I'm expecting a huge jump from him.
  23. The eurostep to the middle and a dunk to finish it. How. At that size. We're whooping everybody's ass once this team learns to play with each other and play defense.
