  1. Travis County saying a man in his 30s has died from covid 19 https://www.kvue.com/mobile/article/news/health/coronavirus/coronavirus-austin-covid-19-central-texas-updates/269-caa16c1a-7069-4d89-9946-ccfe74da3b8e
  2. Construction is considered essential throughout the state. Job sites are open, most never fully shut down. Abbott took care of that on Tuesday
  3. I would have done some horrific things to have been able to do that. Jamie was all woman at 13
  4. I went to high school with Jamie. One in white not Asian
  5. Lowe’s is pretty essential. Homes still need repair. But the garden center probably not.
  6. In 6-8 weeks, I will have enjoyed my Easter service and will be getting ready to party it up on the beach for Memorial Day weekend.
  7. Unless there was a lot of rain in Georgetown today. Nothing South of the River he should be good.
  8. Are you in utilities or fire protection? Where else is Ferguson now?
  9. We do Tri-Trade HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical
  10. No not all these are people that have worked for us for years. SF new construction has plenty of space. We can work with 3-4 guys in a house. In fact we sent all of our builders a notice we would only work in a house that had no other trades. It’s been accepted as a practice at this time. Our subs keep asking for more work. They need and want to work. I went to 2 distributors today and they are pickup only with no counters open. They also want to keep the chain moving.
  11. Abbott better step up. Adler is a fucking moron. Not just this but a long list of things
  12. Builders still going strong today. My clients are trying to fight it. They did not let us do 5 grounds in Austin today in case they are really shut down. They think they can continue to work. We only have 2 active communities in Austin. Everything still going strong in Hays and Williamson County.
  13. 86 cases in Travis County. Increase of 7 from yesterday.
  14. I think the same thing could be said about Austin, Houston and many more cities across the country.
  15. We just accepted an offer here in Austin for April close. The actually being able to close probably scares me the most
  16. Agreed with Wulaw. My dad had a restaurant supply business my entire childhood and I worked in restaurants earlier in my life. Location is obviously going to be king and rent reprieve will be the biggest success. Full service restaurants probably have a higher chance of surviving. Places with younger population and and more thriving social scene will bounce back a lot faster. You will probably see the Bob Woodys of the world scoop up bars from single owners.
  17. Really depends but I think more can survive than some think if rent is taken out of the picture. They do need to get rid of middle managers and higher hourly/salary employees unfortunately.
  18. It was a comment based on earlier posts about the real estate market.
  19. We have 2 houses on the market. In SA we have had 36 showings since Friday. In Austin we have had 8. we got 9 offers on SA house this weekend nothing yet on house in Austin.
  20. I know I sound like a crazy person. But with these absolutely unheard of times. I think the government will step in and help these small businesses. I’m probably wrong but I feel that it will happen.
  21. Agreed I sell mechanical services for single family new construction. They are still building currently but we have no idea what happens if construction is shut down or if people just stop buying houses all together
  22. That’s a fucking issue. We get a lot of our materials through the port.
