  1. There are a ton of other songs from that era that are long gone. “Disco Duck” went to #1, and I think “Run Joey Run” did as well. Awful stuff. And yes, I owned them both on 45 back then too. But I also had “Magic Man” and “Walk This Way” because I loved everything.
  2. The Debby song popped into my head immediately when I saw the thread title. That shit was #1 for like 11 weeks in a row in early 77. I had the 45 as a kid. Do I own the album now? Of course I do.
  3. I applied for the first time this year and made sure that my 82-year-old golf fanatic father did as well. And holy shit, he just got the email.
  4. My OU seat selection process today was a disaster. I logged in earlier today to check out the process (as they recommend). When my scheduled time came at 2:20, it errored out every time I tried to access the site. I logged in on my phone (hard as hell to navigate so avoid if you can) and it let me select one ticket and then kicked me out again and wouldn’t let me back in. Ended up having to call and do it over the phone. No fun.
  5. Just got 8th row tickets for Judas Priest in Dallas in October. I’ll be taking my five year old son. If you think that he’s too young, well I’ll just let you know that he’ll be 6 by October. Seriously, the kid is a little metal head. I’ve always liked Priest but now I love them— all thanks to him.
  6. Back in the 90s, I was watching a UCLA-Arizona State basketball game on ESPN (or maybe a Pac-12 regional network). A player for the Sun Devils couldn't miss in the first half, and then spent the second half putting up brick after brick. Walton's live in-game analysis: "The Sun Devils really have to stop feeding the ball to (X). The guy totally shot his wad in the first half." R.I.P., you glorious freak of a man.
  7. “This song is about Paul Stanley’s dick.”
  8. You have to donate at least $500 now to qualify for priority OU tix. But yes, many below that threshold will get an email about OU tix in August. Just pay attention though, as I got mine about 2 hours before my window and missed it. Upped my donation this year to avoid that shit.
  9. Oh, we are playing it constantly. Will definitely be taking him to see Priest this year if they come anywhere near Texas (he’s autistic and airplanes are still a no-no for him unfortunately). We are going to Maiden in November as well. He also worships The Beatles, so it’s not just metal for the little guy.
  10. “Firepower” is my five year old son’s favorite album. I am raising him right so far!
  11. Jesus Christ. How does that asshole still have a job???
  12. I just found the game on ESPN+ with no idea what was happening. First pitch I saw was the Gasparino HR. I’ll keep watching, I promise.

  14. Couldn’t watch last night so I just finished streaming the first half. Holy shit those last seven minutes were just glorious.
  15. Yeah, I should have read a few more posts for context. Photo still rules.
  16. It was before the game. That's what makes it so awesome. Vince knew.
  17. Watching him just sit there and suffer on draft night is a memory that I enjoy more and more each year, and I really fucking enjoyed it a lot the night it happened.
  18. Let’s fucking go.
  19. Paul himself in the documentary (also released yesterday).
  20. It's really quite beautiful. I got choked up when the classic Harrison guitar solo came in, and then was maybe even more amazed when I later found out that it's McCartney playing the solo as a tribute to George.
  21. I just remembered that Queen (and Adam Lambert) are at the AAC tonight. I have a feeling that a large contingent from a certain local sports team just might be making an appearance on stage during the show!
  22. I went to a game against Toronto where Pavlik walked the first 5 batters in the top of the first and got pulled without getting an out. Good times!
