  1. Yea I get the look on the abortion law. The other stuff I’m not as familiar with. The story on the abortion law supposedly is given that North Dakota is about 120% red the leg was going to pass it either way so what good would it do him to veto it and alienate himself. Personally I think the guy is probably pro choice (based on what I’ve heard over the years from people I know who have known him for decades) but he can’t say it, so he calls it a states rights issue. Which makes sense to me. And look I’m not here trying to change anyones mind. It’s just interesting to me because I’ve never had a personal acquaintance and really good friend of a bunch of my friends run for president before. And at least to me he seems like less of a clown than the rest of the gop, and this is the gop clown show thread right?
  2. Wouldn’t hurt to try. I have a 70 super. It only had three speakers in it when I bought it. I took those out because one was blown. Put it some (sacrilege warning) Eminences on the advice of my amp guy. They sounded great. Later I took the three of originals (Jensens I think, maybe oxfords I’d have to look) and a matching one I found online and sent them all out to be Reconed. Put them back in and while it now looks period correct, the Eminences sounded better. FWIW.
  3. I make it a point to tell the health care workers I deal with that I appreciate what they do. Because I do. Fucked up world they work in and I’m glad they do what they do. And I try to let them know.
  4. Looks like I’ll be at the debate next week. Tangentially involved in Doug Burgum’s campaign - bunch of people I know used to work for him, really good people who think the world of him. Clearly a snowballs chance but he’s a good dude. Actual grown up. Stays completely out of the culture bullshit. Zero right wing alt conspiracy nonsense. One can hope I guess. Regardless it will be cool to be at a presidential debate, even though it will clearly be a clown show.

Is Inspector Morse available for streaming?
  6. Anyone know anything about Cole Clark guitars? The nerds on AGF rave about them
  7. That sea Ray 220 turned out to not be as advertised. It’s looking like $30k is the new $20k. Even though prices do appear to be softening.
  8. This. He could absolutely sing. For what they were though I don’t think they sucked. Slave to the grind is a legit tune for that kind of music. I get your point though.
  9. This. I had 5 16yo’s at my house last night.
  10. Songs about the struggle of the common man aren’t new. But that’s a good song and he did a great job with it. He def had something to say. I wish we’d elect some songwriters and poets from time to time.
  11. This is actually not a bad idea.
  12. You need to tell yourself a better story. There is so much awesomeness in the world if you just open you eyes to it. Quit listening to mass narrative of how bad things always are. Though indeed pervasive, It’s not accurate. And it doesn’t have to define you or anyone else. Tell yourself a better story and that’s what you’ll get out of life. Go read The Book of Charlie. That’s a great place to start.
  13. I looked at the boat club out here. It was $1500 buy in and $400/mo plus gas. 1 year minimum. They have pontoon boats and a couple of ski boats. They are also restrictive on timing - you only get 1 four hour block per weekend - Sat am/pm, or Sunday am/pm. I didn’t love the boats. Also I want to do it however and whenever I want to do it. And I want to be able to check out different lakes including going to Havasu Going this weekend to look at an 04 Sea Ray Sundeck 220. One owner, always stored indoors. 290 hours. $22k. If I like it and it checks out I’ll probably buy it. Low cost entry point, versatile easy boat, to figure things out with.
